I happen to live in the UK and clearly understand your situation, the taxation sytem here has been before you came into the UK and it might not improve with the World economic situation.
Your monthly take home is decent and can be boosted if your wife is also contributing to this. Saving can be hard but when you earn roughly 2600gbp monthly u should be able to put aside some resonable savings(up to 1000gbp) which in naira term shouldnt be less than 250K monthly.
Now how many nigerian graduate saves that monthly after expences, remember that security of life and property, your kids education and health is better insured with you been in the UK.
On a personal account i tried running a business in Nigeria from here and bros , i am still licking my wounds. It was like guys were just waiting for me to make such move, i was milked dry and sober.I learnt to only trust God and myself alone. The money spent on this business would have paid a big chunck of my mortgage, all went in the name of investing back home.
In summary, it is worth looking carefully before you leap cos Nigeria is not proving to improve in the next couple of years and so is the world not getting better. Migrating acorss the globe is like running from pillar to post, it is never the solution. Pursue career advancement and living outside london will do good for your family and savings

Hello Nairalanders,

I have a 40ton container on a 2002 Man Diesel truck of about 400Hp.

The truck is currently in nigeria and i would want to know what details do i ask for or rather how best do i investigate & ascertain that i am leasing my truck to a good company.

There are a lot of fake and unprofessional companies out there ,I have read of really horrible stories of companies mismanaging Trucks to a point of total distruction and i want to be very careful with this one.

Can anyone advise on the reasonable market rate obtainable for leasing out a 40ton truck that will be used for goods haulage, the truckhead is a M.A.N with a capacity of 430Hp and never been used in nigeria?? Truck with container is valued at over N4.8m ,will appreciate response and advice from nairalanders.

I am considering investing in haulage business (fuel tanker) and i need information on the questions below

1. What truck head and model is considered suitable for this purpose considering Nigerian factor (road, etc)?
2. Is it worth it shipping the truck head from overseas?
3. Since it is meant for fuel haulage, what is the estimate of fabricating the tanker (i know this will depend on the litre capacity,say 30000ltrs) or is it better to go for a used one?

I purchased a plot of land some years back from the LSG under the Tinubu administration and was issued receipts for all payment made,but i could not follow up as i had to relocate outside the country at some point.The land is within Ikorodu area


All evidence of payment are intact , will just want to understand if it is worth hoping by any chance
