According to a report from GalaxyS5Info, Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S5 handset will not feature a metal case as had been previously rumored. Instead, the site says Samsung will continue to use plastics for the device’s housing. Specifically, Samsung will supposedly carry the leather-look plastic from the Galaxy Note 3′s case over to the new Galaxy S5.

While GalaxyS5Info is an unproven source, the report was relayed by the often-reliable SamMobile.

The report goes on to say that Samsung is indeed working on a new metal phone, but it will belong to a new premium smartphone line referred for the time being as to as “Galaxy F.” This is not the first time we’ve heard rumors of a new premium Galaxy F lineup that will feature metal casings.

Recent reports suggested that Samsung may be rushing out the new Galaxy S5 smartphone to combat worse than expected Galaxy S4 sales. The new flagship model will reportedly debut sometime in the first quarter next year, while the premium Galaxy F line may be unveiled later in the second quarter.

[b]In addition to other states already in the scheme, the Central Bank of Nigeria will on Wednesday begin the full implementation of its cash-less policy in the Federal Capital Territory, Rivers, Kano, Anambra, Ogun and Abia states. This follows the end of a 3-month moratorium on the charges.

Henceforth, any customer who deposited above N500,000 per day from Wednesday would be charged three per cent, while withdrawals above the limit would attract five per cent charge.

The policy allows the CBN to peg the daily cash withdrawal or deposit for individual accounts at N500,000, while that of corporate accounts is fixed at N3m per day.

Addressing journalists in Abuja on the commencement of the policy in FCT and 5 states, Deputy Governor of the CBN, Operations, Mr. Tunde Lemo, said the imposition of the charges on withdrawals higher than the prescribed limit would ensure an effective implementation of the cash-less policy.

He said, “We will start applying the charges from October 2, which is Wednesday, because the three months moratorium would have expired.

“We are glad to announce that having worked with stakeholders, we have been able to ramp up facilities in Abuja and five other locations, and then, we are set to build up the critical mass requirement for the cash-less policy in those areas.”

Lemo said, “For corporate bodies, the threshold is N2m. If you deposit or withdraw any money above the threshold per day, if it is deposit, it will attract three per cent charge, and if it is withdrawal, it attracts five per cent. Those are the charges that are already applicable in the Lagos area that we are now bringing to this location.”

About 13,000 soldiers from seven countries (Thailand, United States, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea and Malaysia) participated in Cobra Gold 2013, a joint, multi-national military training exercise which focuses on maintaining and improving military-to-military relationships among nations.
And the training has been hosted annually by Thailand since 1982.

During this year's training, Thai soldiers got to show the U.S. Marines how to catch a cobra with their bare hands, as well as drink the snake blood to survive.

The police in Rivers State are really taking their fight against Governor Rotimi Amaechi because of his minor or major disagreement with President Goodluck Jonathan too far, blessedchris observed.

Continuing their acts of impunity, Armed Policemen on Wednesday chased away newly-employed teachers who gathered at a Stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to receive their deployment letters from the state government, because the police thought the teachers will protest against President Jonathan.

The teachers, numbering 13,000, were invited to the stadium by the state government to receive their letters of postings and to be addressed by the state Commissioner for Education, Alice Lawrence-Nemi.

Some of the teachers, who got to the stadium as early as 7.30am, were chased out by the police, others who got their late and tried to gain entrance into the stadium were stopped from entering the arena.

The innocent teachers were manhandled all because of lack of intelligence by the police who did not even try to find out the real reasons why the teachers were at the stadium.

The policemen, according to sources, had thought that the newly recruited teachers were in the stadium for a demonstration against President Jonathan, hence their decision to pounce on the teachers.

One of the teachers chased out of the Stadium told Punch that:
“My colleagues and I took the exam and we were successful. Now that the Ministry of Education invited us to come and collect our letters of posting, see what the police have done to frustrate us.”

When our correspondent visited the stadium, 12 Toyota Hilux patrol vehicles were seen parked at the main entrance with scores of heavily armed policemen guiding the place after the teachers had been dispersed.

Rivers State Commissioner of Information and Communications, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, described the action of the police as “impunity from retrogressive forces.”

She said, “Virtually, this is the impunity we have been talking about in Rivers State. It is clear to Rivers people that this is the action of retrogressive forces who are totally against development because it is the first time any government, whether state or federal, is employing 13,000 teachers at once.

“These are people who have been unemployed. Nigeria is crying about unemployment, education system is in a mess and a government employs 13,000 teachers, trains them and wants to feed them into the system, and somebody chooses to treat this with levity and to tear gas the teachers and give a very stupid excuse, that the teachers were there to protest against President Jonathan.”

Funny enough, the police spokesman, Ahmad Mohammad, said:
“We got intelligence report that about 18,000 youths were being mobilised to protest against a very important personality in the country. You are aware that the ban on public procession in the state by the police is still in force.”

[b] Reports from security circle on Wednesday indicated that a major financier of a kidnapping ring in Edo and the surrounding states, Kelvin Oburuvbe, has been arrested by operatives of the SSS.

“We have been on his trail for more than two years. He is responsible for most of the high profile kidnap in the state. The latest is the kidnap of Chief Mike Ozekhome in August this year.”

It was gathered that the kidnap kingpin was rounded up with some of his loyal boys while they were enjoying themselves at a popular hotel in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.

A source says this goes to confirm Governor Rotimi Amaechi’s statement that criminals are now coming back to Rivers due to the posture of the police commissioner, Joseph Mbu.

It was gathered that Kelvin Oburuvbe is the same person that gave the Federal Government an ultimatum to give him and his boys amnesty or be ready to incur his wrath.

Kelvin is believed to be instrumental to recent abduction of human rights lawyer, Mike Ozekhome, his driver and a leader of the APC, Chief Athansius Ugbome, on Saturday, August 24, 2013.

He is undergoing interrogation in preparation for his arraignment in court.
