Hello all, so had my baby at Peter Lougheed in Calgary. I see someone put up the prices already.

I got the same bill + epidural @ 1200

My experience was very ok, although you won't get a lot of freebies like in the USA but they make you ok. And we all have to understand that Canada is still growing, so we should limit the comparison a little bit. grin

I have applied for baby's registry so I'm supposed to order a b.c as I was told. I'm doing so tomorrow.

Good day ladies and gentlemen,Pls I intend to renew our expired visas this may but I would like to know from fellow forumites if a Passport with about 8 months left to expire is ok to process the renewal? Has anyone dealt with this kind of situation before.
For safety reasons, I think you should renew your passport first to avoid denial.

@BlessedMD2,
Please can you share with us if you were pregnant when you got your visa and if you stated so. What were you asked at the POE. Thanx a lot
Thanks
No I wasn't pregnant then.

And when I arrived Canada the convo was

Officer: hi, how are you, so who are you visiting in Canada
Me: family
Officer: enjoy your stay, stamps me
Me: thanks, bye.

I checked and there was no exit date on the stamp

Hello people, greetings

So for the little information I have for now, here it goes....

I arrived Calgary safe and without any hassle, when I say no hassle, my time spent at Poe was about 2 minutes tops.
Got in, settled down and my search began for an ob/gyn

It wasn't easy as everyone I called asked if I had insurance because they can't accept cash payments.

I finally got a referral to a Dr at Foothils hospital Calgary Alberta.

I visited the first time and for the first visit I paid $180 cad, and subsequent visits will be 60cad.
Then he examined me and said all is well and from the tests results I brought(thanks to informants here, God bless you all) that I won't be needing any more tests. Im due in June 2017 by their calculations/report, but by God's grace I'm praying for my specific due date grin during my safe period in Jesus name amen.

Now to the part that amazed me undecided he gave me a break down of his fees.

Dr fee 5000cad(this excludes all your prenatal check ups oh! Hmmm. Well I have just a few checks IF I will use him)
Hospital 4765cad
Baby 1968
Epidural 1500 cad
Hospital admittance fee 865
tongue

I was speechless cos everything he told me is completely different from what I have been reading here though it's not specifically on Calgary doctors, but I did a rough estimate from findings here.

I got home, called rocky view hospital and they said their hospital fee is 3488 and baby is 1968cad, that they have no idea about doctors fee, that I would have to get a dr to know that and the epidural fee too.

So here I am thinking if I should "jejely go to the aarmrika" or keep searching or go to another state cos I'm tired cos we budgeted 6k for everything.

Advice my people. Thanks and God bless you all

Hello everyone, thanks to everyone on this forum for all knowledge shared, may God bless you all. I have read through but I would like a few updates please because most of the reviews/testimonials are not recent,(has anything changed?) please pardon me.

I'm expecting but haven't travelled yet, and I would definitely share my positive experience after my delivery by God's grace.

I would like to ask parents who traveled recently about the birth certificate to passport collection processes, and the exact time frame. Thanks everyone

Amiableada:
good day everyone... i have been following this thread for a while now. thanks to hotstepper and every other person that contributes and all.God bless.I need opinions please. i got my canadian visa approved last year april, was planning on going during summer but couldnt cos of ticket fares so i decided to do it around feb or march this year as advised by my friend that works with BA that fares would have gone down a bit.Anyway the gist now is that i found out i was pregnant for my 4th after 9 weeks around september and now decided to use the visa for birthing purposes so i had to join this thread. i got a doctor through my host at calgary, discussed with him(nigerian doc). so i was good to go.alreday Dh and i had contacted a friend's elder sister who accepted to accomodate me since i was coming alone and she gave us the doc's contact. i left naija jan 21st through BA, arrived london to now check in to calgary and i was informed my visa has been revoked by canadian govt.I didnt believe it. so i went to my profile and saw they sent a mail asking me to come for an interview on the 20th of dec and was given only one week to appear but honestly i didnt see it and that same period i was in uk with my family on christmas vacation. I contacted them and they said i misrepresented during my visa application. my friend's fiance that lives in canada was of the opinion that someone must have contacted them that i wanted to use the visa for birthing purposes. now no one knew i was travelling to canada, not even my siblings or hubbys people.the only person that knew was the lady i was to stay with,my kids, my hubby and myself! when we called her to ask her if she contacted the authorites her answers were not adding up and she started avoiding us. now i wrote to canadian embassy asking why they revoked my visa, they have asked me to come for another interview in lag. i am heavy, i stay at abuja and havent decided yet.thats my story oh and i have learnt
Hi, I'm very sorry for what happened and I wish you well on your interview. Please is it ok if you send the contact of the doctor you contacted in Calgary?, thank you and God bless you
