RomanceTen Ways To Know You Are A Side-chick by blesseenE(op): 2:49pm On Oct 21, 2014
Nowadays, some men are very smart when it comes to women. They have girlfriends who think they are the “main chicks” but are actually the side-chicks. These men know how to patch their holes when needed, but it takes being extra smart and vigilant to catch the culprit before you fall into their trap.
Let me give you an example of a side chick who found out the truth in a bitter way. She had been dating her boyfriend for close to eight years. She thought he was her last bus-stop; even his family and friends called her ‘iyawo’ until one fateful day.
She went to his family’s home to surprise him, greeted his parents who were so nice to her as usual, then went into the room to wait for her boyfriend. She noticed a stack of invitation cards on his side table. When she checked them out, she saw her boyfriend’s name on it. He was getting married to someone else.
To avoid a situation like this, note these hints.
1. He always has excuses on Valentine’s Day: Some say Valentine’s Day is when you know if you are truly the main love of his life. There is no way a guy who has two girlfriends would share the equal amount of time with both of them. One of the babes has to suffer and we all know it’s the side-chick. He might send the side-chick a gift at work – if she is lucky- while he is away to avoid questions. When it’s getting close to Valentine’s Day, that’s when he knows he has an official trip. Don’t get me wrong, not all guys are guilty of this though.
2. He never “titles” you: It’s your birthday and he puts up your picture as his display picture but captions it: “Happy birthday, dear” or “Happy birthday Shade”. This leaves room for various interpretations without incriminating him.
3. He never recognizes you on his social networks: Now, these include BBM, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc. As much as we all know that some people love their privacy but this can also be a sign. I am not talking about guys who are not on social media; I am referring to the ones who are very active on social media but tell you that they like their lives private. He posts pictures about his many travels but when it comes to proclaiming his love for you, he remembers his privacy. If this is you, you might just be number two.
4. He dials or receives calls from a particular number: This is not snooping around, but sometimes, you need to be vigilant about who your boyfriend talks to. He has this particular number that calls all the time that he just always has to pick. Each time that number calls, he excuses himself. In this case sometimes, the number might not even be saved. Check that boyfriend of yours because that might be the main babe.
5. He only picks your calls at a particular time: This happens when you are not around him. He needs to create ways to be with his main chick so at that point, you become irrelevant. This usually happens mostly on weekends. The reason why he goes MIA over the weekend sometimes is because they both work during the week and the weekend is their only alone time. If he always gives excuses most weekends, check your boo!
6. Hates surprise visits: Have you tried to surprise your boyfriend at his house and he gets so cross with you. Now that reason might be because you are the side babe. He never wants you coming unannounced without calling first. He gives you the impression that he hates surprises. This is definitely because you are the side chick sweetie. Shine your eye!
7. Hardly hangs out in his house: Now, in this case, he would rather pick you up from home and take you to his friend’s house whom he knows you are very comfortable with. He won’t want to give you the liberty to become too familiar at his own house so that number 5 does not occur too often.
8. He does not introduce you as his girlfriend: Whenever he wants to introduce you to people, girls in particular, he introduces you with your first name or bestie or something of that sort, just so you don’t spoil his shine with other girls. You might just be the side chick.
9. He never keeps his promises: This is also one of the major things. He promises you things and for some reason, it seems like a million years. He never ends up giving you. If you were the main chick, he would always want you to be happy. So if he does this to you, investigate him!
10. Trust your instincts: As they always say, save the best for last. This is a very important part that human beings like to ignore. You would have seen the signs and decide to shove it aside. A girl’s instinct never lies. If you feel you might be the side chick, who knows! Maybe you actually are the side chick.
Vanessa Oluwole, a relationship expert said “You can never be smarter than the person who is watching you. If you suspect you have a very calculated sneaky boyfriend, one day, he will forget himself, and that would be your chance to find out the eye opener.”

-the idea isn’t to do what the child says, necessarily, but to jog your own thinking into a more unconventional path.
9. Inviting Randomness
Embracing mistakes and incorporating them into your projects, developing strategies that allow for random input, working amid chaotic juxtapositions of sound and form – all of these can help to move beyond everyday patterns of thinking into the sublime.
10. Take a shower.
There’s some kind of weird psychic link between
showering and creativity. Who knows why? Maybe it’s because your mind is on other things, maybe it’s because you’re naked, maybe it’s the warm water relaxing you – it’s a mystery. But a lot of people swear by it. So maybe when the status quo response to some circumstance just isn’t working, try taking a shower and see if something remarkable doesn’t occur to you!
Do you have strategies for thinking differently? Share your tips with us in the comments.

Career10 Ways To Help You Develop Your ''Thinking Outside The Box'' Skills by blesseenE(op): 9:37am On Oct 20, 2014
Thinking outside the box (also thinking out of the box or thinking beyond the box) is a metaphor that means to think differently, unconventionally, or from a new perspective. This phrase often refers to novel or creative thinking; and understanding your position in relation to any particular situation in a way you’d never thought of before.
We’re told to “think outside the box” all the time, but how exactly do we do that? How do we develop the ability to confront problems in ways other than the ways we normally confront problems?
Thinking outside the box starts well before we’re “boxed in” – that is, well before we confront a unique situation and start forcing it into a familiar “box” that we already know how to deal with. Or at least think we know how to deal with.
Here are 10 ways to beef up your out-of-the-box thinking skills. Make an effort to push your thinking up to and beyond its limit every now and again –the talents you develop may come in handy anytime.
1. Study another industry.
I’ve learned as much about teaching from learning about marketing as I have from studying pedagogy – maybe more. Pick up a trade magazine in an industry other than your own, or grab a few books and learn about how things are done in other industries. You might find that many of the problems people in other industries face are similar to the problems in your own, but that they’ve developed really quite different ways of dealing with them. Or you might well find new linkages between your own industry and the new one, linkages that might well be the basis of innovative partnerships in the future.
2. Learn about another religion.
Religions are the way that humans organize and understand their relationships not only with the supernatural or divine but with each other. Learning about how such relations are structured can teach you a lot about how people relate to each other and the world around them. Starting to see the reason in another religion can also help you develop mental flexibility – when you really look at all the different ways people comprehend the same mysteries, and the fact that they generally manage to survive regardless of what they believe, you start to see the limitations of whatever dogma or doxy you follow, a revelation that will transfer quite a bit into the non-religious parts of your life.
3. Read a novel in an unfamiliar genre.
Reading is one of the great mental stimulators in our society, but it’s easy to get into a rut. Try reading something you’d never have touched otherwise – if you read literary fiction, try a mystery or science fiction novel; if you read a lot of hard-boiled detective novels, try a romance; and so on. Pay attention not only to the story but to the particular problems the author has to deal with. For instance, how does the fantasy author bypass your normal skepticism about magic and pull you into their story? Try to connect those problems to problems you face in your own field. For example, how might your marketing team overcome your audiences normal reticence about a new “miracle” product?
4. Write a poem.
While most problem-solving leans heavily on our brain’s logical centers, poetry neatly bridges our more rational left-brain though processes and our more creative right-brain processes. Though it may feel foolish (and getting comfortable with feeling foolish might be another way to think outside the box), try writing a poem about the problem you’re working on. Your poem doesn’t necessarily have to propose a solution –the idea is to shift your thinking away from your brain’s logic centers and into a more creative part of the brain, where it can be mulled over in a non-rational way. Remember, nobody has to ever see your poem…
5. Draw a picture.
Drawing a picture is even more right-brained, and can help break your logical left-brain’s hold on a problem the same way a poem can. Also, visualizing a problem engages other modes of thinking that we don’t normally use, bringing you another creative boost.
6. Turn it upside down.
Turning something upside-down, whether physically by flipping a piece of paper around or metaphorically by re-imagining it can help you see patterns that wouldn’t otherwise be apparent. For example, you might ask what a problem would look like if the least important outcome were the most important, and how you’d then try to solve it.
7. Work backwards.
Just like turning a thing upside down, working backwards breaks the brain’s normal conception of causality. For example, where you start with a goal and think back through the steps needed to reach it until you get to where you are right now.
8. Ask a child for advice.
Children think and speak with an ignorance of convention that is often helpful. Ask a child how they might tackle a problem, or if you don’t have a child around think about how you might reformulate a problem so that a child
could understand it if one was available.
RomanceThings To Consider Before Accepting A Guy's Marriage Proposal - Ladies Please by blesseenE(op): 11:57am On Oct 14, 2014
A galfriend of mine recently told me that one of her boyfriend proposed to her. Not knowing what to say, she told him to give her sometime so she could pray over it... But really, she doesn't really know if she should say Yes or No.
Her dilemma is that if she says Yes, would she have made the right choice? (coz she has other friends promising her marriage) and if she says No, would she be missing an opportunity?
Please ladies, especially the married ones among us, help out. Thanks!
