Sir try not to confuse yourself, onus of this case is for NSA to prove the direct link to the phone tapping to El Rufai, even if the phone was actually tapped. As long as their is no direct link to him "yet", th court case is an effort in futility by the NSA. The admision on TV isn't an evidence!
Oga sir how far na...

PoliticsRe: Lagos Is Pumping Itself Dry – Boreholes Are A Ticking Time Bomb by Blessingedem80(f): 10:43am On Feb 26
Shomek:
Lagos Is Pumping Itself Dry – Boreholes Are A Ticking Time Bomb

Let’s stop pretending.

Boreholes are NOT an unlimited water cheat code.

In Lagos, almost every building now has a borehole. Estates drill. Hotels drill. Churches drill. Companies drill. Everybody is pumping groundwater like it’s immortal.

Who is measuring how much we’re removing?
Who is regulating it?
Who is monitoring aquifer levels?

Nobody.

We’re extracting millions of litres daily from underground reserves that took hundreds or thousands of years to accumulate.

And we think it will never finish?

Lagos is a coastal city. What happens when:

Water tables drop significantly?
Saltwater starts entering freshwater aquifers?
Boreholes start producing salty or muddy water?
The ground begins to sink from over-extraction?
This is not theory. It has happened in:

Jakarta (serious land subsidence issues)
Cape Town (almost hit “Day Zero”)
Chennai (major water shortages)
But here in Lagos, we act like drilling deeper is the solution to everything.

Instead of demanding proper national water infrastructure, we normalized private survival mode.

The real uncomfortable question:

Are we building houses today that may not have sustainable water in 30 years?

Property developers won’t talk about it.
Government barely regulates it.
Homeowners just want water to flow today.

But groundwater doesn’t care about vibes.

So let’s debate honestly:

Should borehole drilling require stricter permits?
Should there be extraction limits?
Should government heavily invest in central water supply instead of leaving citizens to fend for themselves?
Or is this fear-mongering?
Is Lagos gradually creating its own future water crisis?

Let’s hear real opinions — no sentiment.

Nlfpmod
Basic elementary science teach us of WATER CYCLE.

Even if we have one mighty borehole that serves everybody, it will still be the same consumption pattern or quantity used. So either many or few access to the aquifer region its still same volume used.

I don't think that is a threat!

PoliticsRe: El-rufai: Tapping Someone’s Phone Criminal, Punishable By Law – Lawyer, Ogala by Blessingedem80(f): 11:24am On Feb 17
pipnator00:
It is 100% Illegal to tap anyone's phone. In El Rufai's case with the NSA boss phone tapping incident, the statement by El Rufai isn't enough evidence to convict him of such crime, the NSA have to actually prove that his phone was tapped and that there is a direct link with the phone tapping to El Rufai. The NSA boss knows this. I'll rather they don't waste our time with such futility as charging him to court without direct evidence linking him to the phone tapping.
For self admittance to a crime...?

You simply don't know the law!

9am tomorrow morning Courtroom 6, you will hear from Justice Joyce Abdulmalik!

Well maybe you’re right that the NSA has to prove a crime occurred, but El-Rufai didn't just 'hint' at a crime—he walked into a three-way legal trap that makes 'direct evidence' of the actual wiretap secondary:

1. The 'Admission' is the Crime: Under Section 12(1) of the Cybercrimes Act 2024, 'unlawful interception' isn't just about holding the recording device. The law also criminalizes the use or disclosure of information you know was intercepted unlawfully. By describing the content of the NSA's private call on Arise TV, he arguably 'disclosed' intercepted info, which is a completed crime the moment he spoke.

2. Misprision of a Felony: This is the big one. In the interview, El-Rufai said, 'We listen to their calls... we have our ways.' By admitting he has access to people or systems that can tap the NSA, but failing to report those 'ways' to the authorities, he’s hit with Count 2: failing to report a felony. The prosecution doesn't need to find a 'bug' in Ribadu's phone to prove El-Rufai failed to report a crime he publicly claimed to know about.

3. The 'TV Confession' is High-Grade Evidence:
Nigerian courts (like in Osung v. State) treat voluntary confessions as the 'highest place of authenticity.' Unlike a police statement which can be denied as 'forced,' a live TV interview is a Judicial Admission. The prosecution just needs a Section 84 Certificate to tender the video, and the burden of proof shifts to El-Rufai to explain why he lied on TV if he now claims he didn't actually tap the phone.

The Bottom Line: The NSA doesn't need to prove 'who' did it. They just need to prove that El-Rufai admitted it was done and that he benefited/disclosed the info. In the eyes of the law, his tongue did the work that a forensic expert usually has to do."

BUHARI SPEACH SPEECH

Only old 200 naira notes is considered as legal tender for the next 60 days according to Buhari speach.
500 and 1000 naira notes should be redeemed by CBN and the designated centres and ceased to be legal tender since February 10-2023.

In line with section 20(3) of the CBN Act 2007, all existing old N1000 and N500 notes remain redeemable at the CBN and designated points.

Pls,where are the designated centres apart from CBN?

I need interpretation of the DESIGNATED CENTRES?

Is it the commercial bank?
Or the POS accredited agents or where?
