Why not come out and say it as its is?

Varying reasons could account for this very prevalent primordial question;

1. The wife is insecure. She doesnt want her territory encroached upon. You must remain in the dark as regards the cost of homekeeping.
2. She has been programmed to think that you and indeed all other men are terrible bargainers.
3. She thinks that you have too much leverage to deal with the opposite gender.

Please let her understand clearly that whatever you buy from a trip is a gift and should be treated as a gift. Let her not worry that her monthly allowance for housekeeping will be affected in any way.

Yes I agree that proximity is key , but for someone that lives on the mainland and got a job on the island. It's not my fault that I have no place to crash on the island and it's not the company's fault having their offices on the island. Just that I've seen differences in salaries based on both and I can not work on the mainland based on the poor take home. But salaries on the island are higher but to get one is hell, they keep switching off n on. Meanwhile like you said on your previous message, small companies on the mainland needed people but couldn't catch up with the pay. It's way lower, transportation will consume it all and one will be left to nothing at the end of it all.

Now for those on the island, just few companies have apartments for their workers/ staffs , which helps allot because I discovered nearly 50% of those working on the island are living on the mainland and half of them are sleeping on the street.

Ive been there, I couldn't cope and had to come back home after 4 month .

I know it's hard on employers same way it's hard on employees. But they shouldn't just rise people hopes and then let them down at the end of the day

I don't think you are being fair here. The economy is so unstable now that sometimes a sudden shift in policy can within 24 hours jeopardize a companies entire annual trajectory. I've been there Bro. I am now a senior applicant myself.

Just last week there was a major upheaval in the Telecoms sector that will translate into major career maneuvers in that sector. Many lateral realignments will be made and this will include and will definitely not be limited to job cuts or downsizing, transfers, switches and sometimes even new recruitment schedules could be abandoned.

It's just so sad that one will send dozens of applications out and get no response in return. Even the physical ones will tell you " we will call you " and you wouldn't get a response , while the online interview ones will even take you through the second or third interview and still ghost you. For the bolded you passed the firs level interview and and passed the second level. You then flunked the third. they are not obligated to revert to you. They should as a matter of courtesy.....but wake up to the reality of the situation. The successful candidate has at this point taken over all the attention. You are no longer relevant. Deal with it.

Proximity is important to both you and the company. You get more value from the salary they offer you if the location is proximate. You also spend less time, energy and effort to get to and fro work. This is also better for your overall health and wellbeing which in turn reflects in your productivity. I think you should cut the employers some slack its not easy for them too.


And then please do not denigrate small salary paying companies. They are the ones providing more than 90 percent of the jobs in this country. Its not easy for them. If you have your doubts then try opening even if it is a small supermarket and you will become a student of Behavioural Science.

I once did a Lagos to Dubai on an A380. It was such a delight to be on that flight. It has stairs leading to the upper deck for the Business and First-class travelers. The in-flight experience was superb.

I don't think the bolded is factual. Emirates does not deploy the A380 on any Nigerian route. Non of our existing airports can host this megamoth of an aircraft.

I have used it to Dallas, JFk and Perth. It is an indescribable experience. The sheer size of this bird is quite intimidating.

Get a 12v sachet inverter and a separate charger, it is easier to manage and has low entry cost.

He is the Governor of the State. His communication with Peter Obi should have been private and limited to advice. Obi is now a private citizen and can go to anywhere he choses. He may choose to notify the Governor only out of courtesy. The Governor has no right whatsover to to stop any citizen of Nigeria from accessing the state,........unless there is an election going on or he has credible intelligence regarding the visit.

You do not have the competence to establish what a prospective employer can pay his employee. The fact that someone lives in a particular area doesn't necessarily mean that he can afford to pay a driver above minimum wage. Have you ever heard of squatting? What about the fact that person could be living in a BQ?

If you have done this work as long as I have you will come to terms with the fact that life is perfect. We all get what we deserve. If a a truly committed, dedicated, faithful, professional driver with integrity dripping gets a role where he is underpaid......it will only be for a while as events will unfold and lead him to the exact frequency that matches his vibration.

Best advice ever.

A friend of mine suffered exactly this experience in Australia. Stoic fellow, he shared his burden with no one. I arrived and took him out and he unburdened his heart. We hatched a plan. It took over a year of deep seated preparations including but not limited to acting out a script that depicted him as the most loving husband ever.

They arrived Nigeria......Benin precisely and all hell was let loose. I cannot share the intimate details but I know she is now teaching in a dilapidated private nursery and primary school somewhere off Airport Road. It will be quite the task for her to complete the block of 4 flats the family started while she was a 'diasporean'. Meanwhile my friend threw a party. he is now married to a wonderful soul who almost worships the very soil his feet touches.

There is only one way out of this quagmire. You got yourself into it. Only you can set yourself free. She must not win ultimately.
