Chuck Schumer is already saying Trump shouldn't nominate a new Supreme court Justice but there's nothing he can do about it in the circumstances. The two bodies that are empowered to appoint and approve the new Justice are both in republican hands. Trump will appoint a new SCOTUS Justice and there's nothing the democrats can do about it.
