I don't think it's necessarily this, afterall science students did art and social science subjects to a certain point, and even took a few as electives in University. It's an objective assessment of the different fields based off their experience, maybe sometimes it comes off as running it down, but the crux of the argument is some fields are more difficult than others.

You're probably right that people should do what they find easy and relatable, but then again, some persons elect to challenge themselves, sometimes it works out, and sometimes it doesn't.

Simple rule in business, before you carry out extensive renovations to a property, you take out a long term lease that pays back the value of the enhancements over the life of the lease.

I have strong personal values that are guided by ethics and influenced by upbringing and life experiences. There are people/ countries who are irreligious, or have a high percentage of their population that don't identify with any religion, what are they guided by?

Religion is a perfect example of social construct and since it is plural in practice, the definition of evil/ good becomes subjective and that is why we have laws. A perfect example is the ongoing Sharia issue between the North and Southern Muslims..
