Many black women don't use weaves, a lot more just carry their hair natural as it is
the movie did nothing to highlight black hair for what it is,

did it achieve the aim of showing what lack women do to get their hair 'did' and by 'did' i mean relaxed or infused with weaves?

that's why i BC'd last summer i couldn't deal with long hair again
now i just wash n go or throw my hats or a turban on
only few times i actually take time out do so much.
my hair gives me so much more flexibility than when i had my relaxed hair, now just combing my 'fro out n using a scarf makes it look like some elaborate style unlike when i had to think up sculpted styles n stuff with my own hair. . .
then again maybe im just not so big on long hair

Me too,but I really wanna and secondly my natural hair is veeeeery difficult to maintain

you can grow your roots out or 'transition' for a while then just cut your relaxed tips when you have a length you're comfy with.
hair that has both relaxed and natural parts is quite fragile i must advice.

Natural hair isn't difficult to maintain, quite contrary it's quite easy to maintain you just have to figure out what works for your hair.
