If I evade tax for 12 years, when I am caught, I declare 1 year tax and settle the enforcement unit with the equivalent of 1 year. Everybody smiles back to their houses and business continues.

The issue here is, sometimes, there's need to put up that caveat to avoid time wasting. I buy things on this platform but before I do, I try as much as possible to make my background checks and see if s/he is someone I can deal with. I won't come to you with "can I trust you". If I don't deal with you, it's because of the product/service doesn't meet my need after your explanation, not cuz of trust issues.

I've seen instances where prospective client (PC) would come and be asking what will you give as collateral, send me your NIN slip and the likes cuz they want to buy/need my service. Bro, that doesn't make much sense to me especially when you're from this platform (Nairaland).

Nigeria is hard but hey, not all of us are bad people, though, "bad ones no de write am for face", nonetheless, it's better to do your background checks and see if the prospective service provider meet your trust level before reaching out. It's frustrating and amounts to waste of time when after dedicating your attention to a PC and got a line like "i can't pay until I receive the package", "I'll pay half and pay balance upon receipt".... AliExpress don't do Pay on Delivery/Cash on Delivery, so, why coming to me with that line?!

This is the usual thought process of a typical Nigerian when he begins to reap the dividends of consistency in business.

When their paths begins to align with God's intentions and they realise some reasonable amounts as business profit, you see them consciously project the "I have arrived" attitude.

Businessmen who learnt the rudiments and studied the failure charts of "once successful businesses" are always conscious of this stage of success.

Mr. Businessman, today you look down on people with "trust issues", but that was and is your playing field in business. You were able to grow in business by bridging the gap between genuine buyers with genuine interests, looking for genuine products.

The peculiarity of your market was also another factor that helped you thrive as most Nigerians actually have "trust issues" due to the prevalence of crime, internet fraud, social vices and most importantly an ineffective, incompetent and extremely corrupt law enforcement architecture.

But today, you have boldly declared that those with "trust issues" can go to hell.

Listen, if you have any mentor in business. Ask him/her about the dangers of this stage in business.

Remember, there were other players in this field before you came in. They also did what you are doing today.

I will expect you to do the following:
