Mobile phones manufacturers adopted notches to allow positioning of cameras and other sensors on the front of the phones and later advanced to waterdrop notches to reduce the original big cutout. It seems 2019 may eventually bring an end to those trending holes in the displays, replacing them with in-display cameras and sensors. According to the latest leak, Samsung is currently working on that.

It seems the Korean tech giant want to prove to us why notches is not good enough for it and since it’s the only company to stay away from the notches so far (kudos for that). Samsung is looking for how to put an end to the infamous trend.

During the 2018 Samsung OLED forum, Samsung went even further by announcing that it’s working on other OLED-related technologies as well. An app that can control mobile data consumption per applications on your smartphone has been introduced by Google The app is called Triangle, and it's currently available only for the Philippines. Though, it is said to be under test.

The development of this app allegedly targets the prepaid subscribers in the country, who usually subscribed to capped data plans. Though those that purchases unlimited data plans from the mobile carriers would also benefit from the usage of the app because the unlimited plans are often throttled after subscribers exceeds the daily threshold.

Before setting the service, users are expected to submit their phone number to Google. After the user submits his/her number, it will be verified. Then, they get a reward of free mobile data after verification.

Upon completion of the process, the user will be met with a screen displaying the amount of data left (balance) and what rewards have been earned.

Triangle as wll displays a breakdown of data each applications used. Moreover, a feature that monitors and predicts the amount of data needed by the user.

The app also has a dedicated tab for tracking and claiming rewards (data). This tab, displays the amount of rewarded data earned by the user that day and the type of apps to be installed in order to get more rewards.

After the fiasco suffered by the South Korean tech Goliath, one would wonder why Samsung Mobile was even thinking for going back to that model. But the cry of some Sammy Fans, especially those who couldn't let go the phablet that would never stop exploding.

Samsung decided to respond to its fans by releasing the new refurbished Galaxy Note 7 to quench their thirst by allowing them to have the feeling nostalgic about the Note 7 in grabbing a safe variation of the smartphone.

Lastweek, it was all about Twitter remodifying its Night mode feature that allows it to automatically switches from regular mode to automatic.

WhatsApp, the messaging app which is owned by Facebook, acquired in 2014 for a huge sum of $21 billion, is about to introduce a new feature for its over 1.2 billion users to enjoy.

On the WhatsApp's translation page, there is a request for the words Night Mode. However, this is not the type Night Mode feature that switches the regular black text on white background to white text on dark background, that produces an eye-friendly UI at night. The WhatsApp's Night Mode feature works with the camera UI to produce pictures of better quality taken in dark areas or low-light conditions.

There has been an update on an upcoming Infinix smartphone. This leak was gotten from GFX Benchmark site, the listing threw more light on what we are expecting from Infinix Mobility.

The listing tags the device as Infinix X603 which is suspected to be the Infinix Note 4 or could even be Note 4 Pro which scheduled to be launched nextweek. Recall that the code name for the Note 3 is X601.

Nokia 6 has just been announced by HMD Global and will be received in the US in early July. The smartphone is the first Nokia-branded Android handset produced by HMD, and it suggested the coming back of Nokia to the mobile market.

The Nokia 6 will be obtainable via Amazon in Matte Black and Silver color variants, and it will be sold for $229. David Jemibewon, who is a retired major general, has claimed that Hameed Ali is a fine military man and should not demean himself with customs uniform

Jemibewon says putting on customs uniform will be a step backward for someone who has worn the uniform of a member of the Armed forces

However, former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, says Ali was arrogant to have snubbed the Senate’s order to appear before legislators in customs uniform for an update on a controversial proposed plan on payment of duties for old vehicles

David Jemibewon, who retired as major general and also a former governor of defunct Western state, has said the request by the Senate that the comptroller-general of Nigeria Customs Service (CGC) appears before it in service uniform senators was needless.

According to Premium Time, Jemibewon defined Hameed Ali, a retired colonel, as a fine military man who ought not to belittle himself with the agency’s uniform, Premium Times reports.

Jemibewon, who once served as the minister of police affairs, said he would have quit if anyone had forced him to wear police uniform as a minister.

He stated: “It would be belittling the position of the uniform of a member of the Armed forces.

“There was no way anybody could have compelled me to wear uniform. I would have resigned,” Mr. Jemibewon said. “Even if the law said so I would have resigned.”

However, Jemibewon’s stance on the matter is in dissimilar to what happened when a former customs chief was appointed outside the agency in related way as Ali wore uniform.

Bello Haliru had said the instant he was appointed, he turned into a career customs officer.

Bello Said: “I knew I must comply with all rules and regulations of the organisation I am leading and that included wearing a uniform.”

Likewise, Haladu Hananiya, an ex-corps marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission, put on uniform of the commission after his selection by former president, Olusegun Obasanjo.

“Here is a man who has excelled in his military career and you’re asking that one to wear Customs uniform? I don’t see how that will ensure competence and efficiency."

However, a former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode has ridiculed the travails of the Customs boss, Hameed Ali at the Nigerian Senate.

Recall that Fani-Kayode tweeted, on Sunday, March 19, 2017, that Hameed Ali was egotistical to have overlooked the Senate’s order to appear before legislators in Customs uniform for a briefing on a controversial proposed plan on payment of duties for old vehicles.

“And failure of Amnesty International to respond to this plea as stipulated, they would incur the wrath of Nigerians, who would have no option than occupy Nigeria on the streets, until government compels Amnesty International to leave the country.”

According to Abubakar, the most recent report of Amnesty International which accused the Nigerian military and other supporting arms of security of human rights violations when fighting the acts of terrorism, separatism and fanaticism in the country is another suggestion of the organization’s continual mission to weaken Nigeria’s security.

He added: “we are worried and indeed, sad to notice that each time peace and normalcy is returning to these troubled parts of the country, Amnesty International, an international human rights body mindlessly punctures the essence of this peace by cooking up baseless reports that maliciously indict and disparage efforts of the Nigerian security architecture, by alleging unsubstantiated human rights violations.

“We have noticed that each time Amnesty International wail for criminal gangs or terrorists in released reports, Boko Haram terrorists crude and barbaric attacks, including slitting the throats of captives with knives, gain momentum and the tempo of violent insurrections also heightens in the country.”

The Nigeria Police Force, NPF, has imprisoned the Commandant-General of the Peace Corps of Nigeria, Dickson Akoh.

The police detained the Peace Corps boss on Sunday, March 19 following his submission for questioning at the police command in Abuja.

Akoh was said to have been in his state origin, Benue where he had been receiving traditional medical care due to his ill-health.

He was held back at exactly 5:40pm on the directive of a senior officer of the Criminal Investigation Department, CID.

According to NAIJ.COM, Akoh is presently at the office of Special Anti-Robbery Squad,SARS, where he is being detained.

A group of newsmen, who went to SARS to ascertain the detention were sent away by security operatives who shot in the air twice.

Another effort was made to get some information at the FCT Police headquarters by journalists proved abortive as stiff resistance by policemen was encountered at the entrance of the force building.

Recall that the Nigeria Police Force had previously declared Akoh wanted.

Following all abortive effort in obtaining some information on the development, it was finally possible to reach the FCT Police public relations officer, ASP Manzah through the phone, who said he doesn't have information of the arrest.

In reaction to the incident, the Peace Corps’ spokesperson, Patriot Millicent Umoru noted that an Admin Officer of the police she simply known as “Mr Abdullahi” threatened to ''kill someone'' seemingly referring to Akoh.

Speaking to NAIJ.COM via phone conversation, “Should anything happen to him (Akor), we will hold him (Abdullahi) responsible, because he was saying it openly.''

The leader of IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has distanced himself and his deputy, Uche Mefor, from a live transmission of Radio Biafra scheduled for this Sunday, March 19, in the Unites States of America.

According to Premium Times reports, the IPOB arrowhead who spoke through his lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, in a telephone chat with journalists on Sunday, said he was aware but never gave approval for the launch.


Radio Biafra was scheduled to go live in the US today, Sunday, March 19, 2017. This was revealed by Leonard Anemene, a leader of the group, in a statement released on Friday, March 17.

Anemene said that if not for some setbacks, the project would have taken off before now.

However, he refused to say the exact location where the station will be broadcasting from.

Kanu said on Sunday “Radio Biafra has approval and authorization to set up in America according to the U.S. laws.

“But neither me nor my deputy, Uche Mefor, gave approval for it to go on air today in America.”

Kanu is at present being tried by the federal government of Nigeria for treason based on his founding of IPOB, creation of Radio Biafra, and his cry for an independent Biafran state.


However, the group’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, said it is optimistic that their tormented leader will be set free on Monday, March 20, 2017.

The IPOB in a statement, says it believes the Justice Binta Nyako-led court will quash the outstanding charges against its leader and others because they are not guilty.

The Biafran agitation group also call on Igbos from all section of life to demonstration solidarity by storming the Federal High court to watch live, the prospective release of Kanu and others.

The statement states: “The court case that is coming up this Monday in the Federal High Court, Abuja is between our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and federal government of Nigeria on the concocted charge of treasonable felony without proof or evidence.

“Nigeria has the dubious distinction of being the only contraption on earth where those that hold opposing views to that of the government are locked up on the grounds of being treasonous yet no single evidence to back up the claim."

March 14, 2017, became a Historical date for Lagosians as fresh tomatoes land in Lagos, transported by rail after 58 years.

A Nigerian businessman, Emmanuel Itoya Ijwere, revealed this at the First Bank's maiden Agric Expo 2017, held at Eko Hotel and Suits, Lagos, on Wednesday, March 15, 2017.

He said: "The train left Kano at about 10am yesterday. As at 11am today, it has arrived Osun and by 10pm this evening, it will be in Lagos. This is happening for the first time in 58 years." Ijewere said.

"I want to thank those who made it possible including the minister of Agriculture. After this, it will now be weekly affairs. We will move a lot of these things conveniently.”

He added that Nigeria lost about 2.8 million tonnes of tomatoes in 2016.

"At N200,000 per tonne, the country lost tomatoes worth N5.6 billion due to poor storage facility,” he added.

The Nigerian Senate has once again rejected the recommendation of the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, as the right man for the full-time job.

The decision to reject Ag. EFCC boss followed a report from the Department of State Services, DSS which again disqualified Magu based on an integrity test by the secret police, which he failed.

The Magu looked to be doing well during his screening for the position at the Nigerian Senate on Wednesday, March 15 before Senator Dino Melaye disclosed that the upper house of legislature had received a letter saying Magu is not qualified for the job because he failed an integrity test by the secret police.

Melaye claimed that two reports were released by the DSS yesterday on Ibrahim Magu and they all accused Magu.

Melaye therefore read Paragraph 14 of the DSS letter on Magu which said: “In the light of the foregoing, Magu has failed the integrity test and will eventually constitute a liability to the anti-corruption stand of the current government.”

In a response to Melaye, the Ag. EFCC boss kicked against the DSS report, saying that the service had shown it had a problem with inconsistency when it released two contradictory reports about him to the Senate late last year.

“What do you say about credibility of that agency?” Magu queried.

The DSS report was signed by its Director-General Folashade Bello, which said Magu failed integrity test

However, the Clerk of the House denied that Senate got two letters from the DSS.

He said, what the senate received was a letter on October 3, 2016.

The Senate, he said, entreated the DSS to re-confirm its integrity report on Magu. This was what was received on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, and to which Melaye referred during questioning of Magu.

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has said that Denys Gauer, who is the French Ambassador to Nigeria is dreaming over the comment he made about Biafra agitation.

The IPOB also said that the ambassador does not have the adequate knowledge of his host country and needed to refer to his history.

On Monday, March 13, 2017, Gauer told Guardian Newspaper that there is no future for Biafra despite its campaign for independence.

He claimed that the French government will never support any individual or group seeking for separation from Nigeria as a country.

He also said that France was in collaboration with the country in its war against insurgency, further saying that the war against insurgency had brought Nigeria and France together, more than ever before.

Gauer stated: "Biafrans have no future in the zoo called Nigeria, but we have future outside Nigeria. This statement you made is indicative of the Imperialist and philosophical principles the so-called Western world have towards Africans in general."

But in a swift reaction to Gauer's comment, the IPOB said the French ambassador must be dreaming.

The IPOB also claimed that its agitators have always respected and maintained good relationship with the French country.

IPOB said: "We did not count on you when we started and will not count on you when you declare us your enemy.”

What is the correlation between Boko Haram insurgency in the Muslim North and their destined policy with the federal government of Nigeria to wipe off all Biafrans and take over their land as it relates to us Biafrans who are trying to avoid being exterminated by the Government you are supporting?

5. You have continued to keep mute with regard to NIGERIA'S violation of all sorts of United Nations rules, even the Amnesty International report. You are supporting any British blunder even when you could have carried out respectable principles.

Your covert support for a genocidist Mohammad Buhari who committed more crimes than Saddam Hussain, Idi Amin or even Milosovich of the Yugoslavia raises more questions than answers as to the genuineness of the United Nations, it's composition as well as equitable and impartial application and enforcement of its rules.

Rebel group, Boko Haram has released a new horrific video.

According to Sahara Reporters, the video was released by the Boko Haram faction managed by Abubakar Shekau which featured the execution of some men it claimed were Nigerian government spies that had gained access to the group.

The language spoken in the video was Hausa and Arabic, which includes series of footage showing some Islamic priests, world leaders and government officials comprising a footage of President Muhammad Buhari, former US President, Barack Obama, the current US President, Donald Trump, and some other European leaders.

The video also shows the execution of three persons which the extremist group claimed were hired by Nigeria’s Directorate of Military Intelligence to infiltrate the group.

The people were horrifically killed at the end of the 7-minute video.

In the video, Boko Haram also displayed a large reserve of high-grade military weapons including what seemed to be anti-aircraft missiles and bragged that it remains resolute in its course, that the Nigerian Army cannot recapture them again.

Recall that few days ago, two suspected Boko Haram bombers were killed by security agents while bidding to enter Maiduguri, Borno state on Saturday, March 11.

Based on Apostle Suleman’s instruction I left Canada for Nigeria to meet Apostle Suleman. It is important to note that despite the amorous relationship, I saw Apostle Suleman like a father figure who takes care of me and to whom I was extremely obedient to.

I arrived Nigeria on the 25th of August, 2015 and clandestine arrangement was made for the two (2) of us to meet and consequently, I met Apostle Suleman at Definite Destiny Hotel, beside Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos State. It was at the hotel that I was given a concoction to drink by Apostle Suleman who told me that the concoction was for my spiritual fortification. But in less than ten (10) minutes after drinking the concoction, I started vomiting blood and passing out blood. Apostle Suleman then gave me pills to stop the blood though the blood did not stop immediately but the pain subsided and the pregnancy was gone.

I was devastated by the development and Apostle Suleman gave me cash gifts in three (3) different currencies, to wit; Euro, Dollars and Naira to console and compensate me for the loss of the pregnancy. I could not come to terms with the facts that the man that claimed to love me and promised to marry me, could procure abortion for me without my consent which could have lead to my death.

Unfortunately Apostle Suleman did not stop at procuring abortion for me without my consent but also in a desperate bid to keep the amorous relationship between him and I a secret not known to his teeming followers, Apostle Suleman invented various devices to bully and threaten my life.

It is against this backdrop that I urge you to use your good offices to call for a thorough and dispassionate investigation into the above allegations. I plead with you, in the course of your investigation, to confirm the exchange of all our text messages from the networks, forensic analysis of all the nude pictures we both sent to ourselves (and whether they are, indeed, photo-shopped or authentic), our international passports to confirm the dates and times of our travels, investigation concerning the hotels we slept together both in and out of Nigeria and bank accounts to confirms the transfers of funds.

The current CAF president, Issa Hayatou, from Cameroon, seems to have gotten an endorsement from Nigeria’s government, in his bid to be re-elected again.

It has been reported that the government has ordered the country’s football association to back Issa Hayatou, according to a senior official, on Monday.

Recall that Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Amaju Pinnick, has publicly came out in support of Hayatou’s main opponent, Ahmad Ahmad, but a decree is coming from the top now to him to drop his support for Ahmad.

Pinnick’s backing for Madagascar’s Ahmad seems to be widening the gap between the NFF and the Nigeria sport’s minister, Solomon Dalung, and Nigerian members of CAF’s executive committee.

A senior official, who preferred anonymity, in the presidency established that a meeting chaired by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has ordered Pinnick to vote for Hayatou due to the co-existing ties between Nigerian and Cameroon.

He said: “There is an existing joint relationship between Nigeria and Cameroon and most recently both countries collaborated in the fight against the Boko Haram insurgency,” he added.

“We can’t afford to jeopardise this relationship.

“Pinnick has therefore been ordered to cast his vote for Hayatou even if every other country failed to do so, as Nigeria does not owe Madagascar anything.”

Nigeria has been fighting Islamist rebels Boko Haram since 2009 in a conflict that has left at least 20,000 people dead and displaced more than 2.6 million.

Nigeria with Cameroon, as well as Chad and Niger, have been fight Islamist extremist, Boko Haram since 2009, which by implication could be an added advantage for Hayatou to get Nigerian’s support.

The sport’s minister, Dalung, had earlier this month indicated his interest for Nigerian vote to go for Hayatou and said this was in the country’s interest and for a reason of geographical proximity but also being “a true friend”.

A High Court in Lagos has ordered the National Agency For Food, Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, to instantly instruct the Nigeria Bottling Company PLC, manufacturers of soft drinks; Fanta and Sprite to include a written caution on the bottles of the drinks that the content cannot be taken with Vitamin C.

This is coming following a suit filed against the NBC and NAFDAC by a Lagos businessman, Dr. Emmanuel Fijabi Adebo and his business, Fijabi Adebo Holdings Limited.

His lawyer claimed that erstwhile in March, 2007, his client's company bought large quantities of Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta Orange, Fanta Pineapple, Fanta Lemon and Soda Water from NBC for export to the United Kingdom for retail purposes and supply to their customers.

Upon arrival of the packages in UK, fundamental health related matters were raised on the contents and composition of the Fanta and Sprite products by the UK Health Authorities, explicitly the Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council’s Trading Standard Department of Environment and Economy Directorate.

The discoveries from the United Kingdom were verified by the Coca-Cola European Union and products were found to have excessive levels of “Sunset Yellow and Benzoic Acid “which are usafe for human consumption.

Due to the irregularities and harmful content of the soft drinks which can cause cancer to the consumer, the claimants was unable sell the Fanta and Sprite products resulting in appreciable losses, as they were certified unsuitable for consumption and were confiscated and destroyed by the United Kingdom health authorities

Adebo's Lawyer begged the court to declare that the Nigeria Bottling Company was negligent and breached the duty of care owed to their valued customers and consumers in the production of contaminated Fanta and Sprite soft drinks with excessive “benzoic acid and sunset” addictive. They also urged the court to direct NAFDAC to conduct and carry out routine laboratory tests of all the soft drinks and allied products of the company to ensure and guarantee the safety of the consumable products, produced from the Nigeria Bottling Company factory.

Although the Nigeria Bottling Company contested that the claimant’s claims are hypothetical, frivolous and vexatious and should be dismissed with substantial costs, NAFDAC did not file any defence.

In a judgment delivered by Justice Adedayo Oyebanji declared that NAFDAC has disappointed Nigerians by its certification as satisfactory for human consumption, products which in the UK failed sample test for human consumption and which became poisonous in the presence of Vitamin C.

He therefore ordered: ”That NAFDAC shall forthwith mandate Nigeria Bottling Company to, within 90 days hereof, include on all the bottles of Fanta and Sprite soft drinks manufactured by the company, a written warning that the content of the said bottles of Fanta and Sprite soft drinks cannot be taken with Vitamin C as same becomes poisonous if taken with Vitamin C.

”In consideration of the fact that this case was filed in 2008 and that it has been in court for 9 years, costs of N2 million is awarded against NAFDAC. Interest shall be paid on the costs awarded at the rate of 10% per annum until liquidation of the said sum.”
