ADAMAWA NORTH SENATORIAL RACE: BINTA MASI GARBA STEPS DOWN, ENDORSES FINTIRI

Former Senator for Adamawa North, Binta Masi Garba, has withdrawn from the 2027 senatorial race and thrown her support behind Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

She made this known on Wednesday at Baraza Hotel in Mararaba, Mubi, explaining that the decision followed wide consultations with party leaders, stakeholders, and her supporters across the district.

Garba, who had earlier declared her interest under the APC, said stepping down was in the interest of unity and the overall progress of Adamawa State. She expressed confidence in Fintiri’s leadership, pointing to his record in infrastructure, healthcare, security, and social support programmes.

She urged her supporters across Madagali, Michika, Mubi North, Mubi South, and Maiha to support the move and align with the governor’s ambition ahead of 2027.

Garba also thanked the people of Adamawa North for the opportunity to serve as their senator from 2015 to 2019, reaffirming her commitment to the zone.

I Distinguished Senator Binta Masi Garba, heartily congratulate and warmly welcome the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, following his historic defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Fintiri’s decision to align with the ruling party at the centre is, in my considered view, a bold, strategic, and statesmanlike step taken in the overriding interest of Adamawa State and its good people. This move is not about personal gain; rather, it reflects a genuine commitment to accelerate development, strengthen federal–state collaboration, and unlock greater opportunities for our citizens.

Even while His Excellency was in the opposition PDP, we in the APC, myself inclusive, openly acknowledged the visible transformation, infrastructural expansion, and people-oriented programmes recorded under his leadership.
These achievements earned him bipartisan respect and demonstrated his dedication to purposeful governance.
For years, many of us within the APC fold quietly hoped and prayed that His Excellency would one day align with the progressive family. Today, that expectation has become a welcome and refreshing reality.

I therefore appeal to all APC members, stakeholders, youth groups, women organizations, and the general public across Adamawa State to receive this development with unity, maturity, and a spirit of brotherhood. This is a major political consolidation that strengthens our grassroots structure and positions Adamawa State for greater relevance at the national level.

As we look toward the 2027 general elections, I call on all party faithful to close ranks, deepen reconciliation efforts, and intensify mobilization across the 21 Local Government Areas of our dear state. I urge the good people of Adamawa to vote massively for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as sustained collaboration between the state and the federal government will fast-track critical infrastructure, economic growth, improved security, and youth empowerment initiatives.

On a personal note, despite past political differences, Governor Fintiri has remained my close friend, brother, and dependable partner in progress. Beyond party lines, we share one enduring principle , service to humanity first.

Distinguished Senator Binta Masi Garba Condemns Terrorist Attack on Kirchinga Community

Distinguished Senator Binta Masi Garba has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack on the peaceful people of Kirchinga community in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State, which led to the tragic loss of lives and destruction of properties.

The Senator described the incident as barbaric, heartbreaking, and unacceptable, noting that no community deserves to live under the threat of violence and fear. She called on security agencies and relevant authorities to intensify efforts toward strengthening community policing and intelligence gathering to prevent future occurrences.

Senator Garba expressed deep sympathy to the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, who hails from the affected community, as well as to all families who lost loved ones and property in the unfortunate attack.

She prayed for God’s comfort and protection over the people of Kirchinga and the entire Madagali Local Government Area, urging residents to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and cooperative with security agencies as government works to restore lasting peace to the area.

I was profoundly honoured and delighted to have the privilege of cutting the birthday cake in celebration of the 82nd birthday of His Eminence, Cardinal John Onaiyekan, yesterday at his residence. It was a moment filled with joy, reflection, and gratitude to God for a life dedicated to faith, service to humanity, and unwavering commitment to moral and spiritual guidance.

Truly, all that we are and all that we possess come from God Almighty. To Him alone be all the glory for the great and wonderful things He has done and continues to do in our lives.
