This is the current horrible state of Onitsha-Enugu Express Way, Anambra state. This road has proven to be the worst in this country. Small cars no longer make use of this road as it will get stuck in the middle of it.

This road has been in a deplorable condition since Obasanjo’s era, and he completely neglected it.

An unfulfilled contract was awarded by Yaradua and then rewarded during Jonathan’s tenure.

If not for the action of the state governments (Enugu and Anambra ) in the refurbishment of the old road and the Onitsha axis motorists would have been in a terrible situation.

When the Southeast people complain of marginalization by the FG, it will seem as if they are just making up stories to attract pity or something, but this is the truth.

Just like this very road, no other project was attracted to the southeast; this very road is one of the busiest roads in the southeast because it links, some northern parts of the nation to the east and south and even the west. This very road linked Asaba, Owerri Enugu, and so many other north central states with axis from Enugu.

ambra state government took the bull by the horns and constructed from Niger bridge up to Umunya (Odumodu junction) because it Is the most sophisticated parts of the commercial city of Anambra + its residential areas,

Also, the state government took it upon itself to revamp from Amawbia to Amansea( Awka, the capital city) because that road is also crucial to the development and infrastructures, both businesses and residential areas, + it will help boost the IGR for the state.

All these they did, hoping to get a refund from FG, but none came.

And later, people will come Southeast to other parts of the country,

A heartless man has brutally assaulted his wife after he caged her and his newborn baby in their home for days while sexually assaulting her.
According to Wate, authorities have arrested an Atlanta man, Aaron Uchitel on charges of aggravated battery, false imprisonment and cruelty to children. Atlanta police say he assaulted his wife, 23-year-old Prosper Ortega, for two days until her mother rescued her.
Her mother, Fawn Ortega, says she went to the couple’s home last week to check on them. She says Uchitel wouldn’t let her inside the home, so she fought her way in. After entering the house, she saw her daughter’s swollen face and called the police.

“I know the images are hard to look at however she’s asked me to post them so that you can see the monstrous things this man has done to her, as he manipulated her with her love for him and her fifteen days old child,” said Fawn Ortega posted on her Facebook page. “She still cannot see her child and we are praying her sight will return as he told her he wanted to make her blind to her baby, poured scalding water in her ears so she couldn’t hear her child’s cries, and cut her hair off so she would never be attractive to any man that would love her as the beautiful young woman she was when he took her as his wife.”

According to information gathered from the victim, Uchitel had drugged her, beat her and sexually assaulted her for two days. At one point, police say, Prosper attempted to flee through a bedroom window, but Uchitel pulled her back into the home, Uchitel was booked at Fulton County Jail. It’s unclear if he has an attorney.

Prosper Ortega is recovering at the hospital. Her family says she has a long recovery ahead of her but they want the public to know what domestic violence can look like. They say they are sharing her story in hopes of preventing another domestic violence case. See pictures below

A security guard with the United Bank for Africa, Mohammed Ogbanago, who returned $10,000 (about N2.8m) misplaced by a customer has said he was ridiculed for the action.

Punch Metro learnt that the 29-year-old had on April 7, 2016, found the $10,000 close to the main gate of the Oba Akran branch of the UBA, where he worked as a security guard.

The money was said to have fallen from an $84,500 withdrawn by a bank customer.

The security guard was said to have taken the money to the bank’s operation manager, who then handed it over to the customer when he revisited the bank.

UBA bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Tony Elumelu, hosted Ogbanago at the bank’s corporate headquarters on the Lagos Island.

He was reportedly applauded by the bank’s leadership for the action, which it said was exemplary.

The bank repeatedly promised to give him a letter of commendation for the ‘unusual’ conduct.

Elumelu, who posted his meeting with Ogbanago on his official Instagram page, said,

“When I heard about this story, I knew I had to meet the man, who despite facing rising petrol and transportation prices and ‘tomato Ebola,’ returned such a huge sum of money.”



During a chat with PUNCH Metro, the guard, who graduated from the Kogi State College of Education in 2012, said good upbringing helped him to resist any temptation to abscond with the money.

He added that the story of an airport cleaner (Josephine Agwu), who returned the N12m she found at her workplace, also inspired him.

He said he had boasted to his friends that he would do better if he had the chance.

He said,

“And my chance came on that day. I was coming from inside the bank when I saw the money on the ground and I decided that the best thing was for me to take it to the operation manager. The owner of the money later came to ask for it.

“After I did that, some people started ridiculing me that I shouldn’t have returned the money and that I should have considered my meager salary before letting go of such a huge sum of money. But I felt I did the right thing. If I had, for instance, taken the money away and fled to my village, it would not be a case of misplaced money again, but stealing, and I could even be declared wanted.”



Ogbanago, who said he aspired to public leadership, said his action was to show that not all Nigerians were corrupt.

“Although my salary may not be enough for my upkeep, especially with the current economic situation in the country, it is no excuse to take what is not mine.

“I have been campaigning that to make Nigeria great, we all must prove to be good Nigerians in our small corners. Not all Nigerians are corrupt.

“I am happy I had the chance to prove myself and I want other Nigerian youths to learn from it. I want our youths to know that a good name is better than riches,” he added.

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Sunday, June 19, returned from the United Kingdom, UK, after his 14-day Medical Vacation, where he went to treat a nagging Ear, Nose and Throat, ENT, Infection and an undisclosed ailment.

Two weeks after a clash between Nigeria’s security operatives and pro-Biafra agitators, photographs of some killed members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) have surfaced.

The photographs show the magnitude of violence that took over a day supposedly to honour late Biafra warlord, Dim Odimegwu Ojukwu. Recall that a day after the incident, about 88 members of MASSOB, who were arrested by the Ebonyi State police while they celebrated the day were arraigned.

Members of a deadly cult gang that killed three students of the Abia State University, Uturu (ABSU) with two of the victims beheaded on March 12, 2016 has been arrested. Four cult members that participated in the evil mission were yesterday paraded by the Department of State Services (DSS) after two months of “painstaking investigation” that led to their arrest.

Speaking during the parading of the suspects, the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu described the cultists as fierce and wicked, he regretted how some children who are sent to school could abandon schooling and turned to evil, stating that they represent kidnappers and everything that is bad about the society.

Further, he wondered how many lives that must have been wasted by the activities of the cultists and said that God will judge and sanction them appropriately.

Dr. Ikpeazu said that anyone who kills and goes ahead to use the heads of his victims as goal posts must have gone to the limits and assured that the full weights of law will fall on them, adding that it will serve as deterrent to other cultists and thanked the security agencies for a work well done

Parading the suspects, Mr Korade Kamoju said, following the incident that happened in ABSU in which 2 students were beheaded, his men went into investigation and found out that the suspects are members of Bokinafasowho went on revenge mission to another cult-Mafiance over the killing of their leader, Mr. Collins Agwu Kalu, popularly called Biggy. Mr Kamoju stated that that was a lesson that there is no hiding place for criminals in Abia and thanked the Governor for his support as well as other security agencies (Army and Police) for their assistance.

A 24-year-old teacher, Alexandria Vera, has been accused of having s*x with a 13 year old, eighth grade student.

Vera claims that the pair are in love and that the boys’ parents knew about their relationship and even approved of it. She added that his parents allowed him to sleep over at her apartment on numerous occasions. And that she would drop him off at the bus stop for school the morning afterwards.



Vera said the teen was a student in her English 8th grade class and that the romance started over social media after they met in her summer class.

The middle school teacher explains that the then-13-year-old first contacted her via Instagram, and their relationship grew from there and people seemed to notice. She said he missed a class one day so she sent him a message asking him why he missed class and that was when he asked for her number.

She said one time she went to his house for school and he invited her in and introduced her to his parents as his girlfriend and his parents accepted her.

She said the first time they had s*x was sometime in September of last year when she dropped him of at home and his parents were not at home.

She also said a lot of people at school noticed that they were both in a relationship.

One student told ABC 13:

“He like grabbed her b*tt, and everybody saw it. And then they were talking about it.”

Vera said she got pregnant in January and told investigators that the teen’s family was “excited” and “very supportive” when they found out. However, court documents reveal that she became nervous after Child Protective Services visited her school and interviewed the couple about their relationship so she eventually aborted her unborn baby.

Aldine ISD’s Stovall Middle School, located near Houston, Texas, has since released the following statement:
Aldine ISD has been made aware that charges have been filed against a former Stovall Middle School teacher involved in inappropriate behavior with a male student. When the allegation was made in April, the teacher was immediately removed from the school and placed on administrative leave. Aldine ISD Police investigated the incident and turned their findings over to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. The safety and security of Aldine ISD’s students and staff remains a priority of the school district.

Vera is charged with continuous s*xual abuse of a child. She turned herself in on Wednesday to officers at Montgomery County Jail in Conroe, Texas, after police issued a warrant for her arrest.

Vera’s bond was set at $100,000. She has met the bail condition and has been released.

The Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ipokia local government area of Ogun State, Alhaji Saruku Suraju, popularly known as “Aro Meta” has died in a hotel after an alleged marathon sex with a woman believed to be a commercial s*x worker.

PM News reports that Suraj died at the De Lover Hotel, located at Aseko area, Ibatefin in Ipokia on Friday night.


His mistress fled the scene of the incident when he gave up the ghost. The 68-year old until his death was the PDP Chairman in Ipokia local government area.

There was said to have been plans to turban him as Giwa Adinni of Ibatefin Central Mosque, but the ceremony has been postponed indefinitely.

A family source said that the man died in a hotel while his mistress, who no one knows fled without any trace. The incident happened around 9:00pm on Friday and he has since been buried according to Islamic rite.

1. [b]CALL UP LETTER: T[/b]his is a vital part of camp registration and the only evidence that you are a prospective corps member (colloq. Corper, or Otondo) and you are not impersonating anyone. This will be taken from and not returned to you. So if at all you even forget you luggage never forget this.

Tip: Since many will choose the N3,000 option to print online, do try to use a café with laser jet printers and not DeskJet. Why? Documents printed with DeskJets are more susceptible to water/moisture damage. Just to be on a safer side and you should do this with any document you intend to keep for a very long time. If you can’t find a LaserJet, use anyone.

Tip: DO NOT LAMINATE IT! And keep it like its your life. I know someone who was sent back because she forgot hers. Also someone who had to beg and beg before his letter was collected because he laminated his own copy. So please avoid all these stress and make enough copies of this letter.

Tip: Remember you can REPRINT your Call-Up letter online if paid (N3,000) to that option.

2. Registration Documents: If you’re a foreign graduate, take along the original credentials you uploaded (to the NYSC Portal) for physical verification / evaluation.

3. Green Card: It contains your bio-data. Print and bring along your signed copy.

6. PHOTOCOPIES OF YOUR DOCUMENTS: Now make about 10 copies of every document required. There would be photocopiers in camp at mammy market but trust me, it is double the price and it saves time.

Last week Mark Zuckerberg climbed to the sixth richest man in the world but this week seems to be the awesome week for Facebook team as he became the fourth-richest person in the world on Tuesday, leap-frogging over Jeff Bezos as Amazon's stocks plummet and Facebook's soar. The 31-year-old, saw his fortune climb to $50 billion once stocks closed, continuing a surprisingly successful start to 2016 for the social network. Facebook has risen 9.5 per cent in the past month despite a rocky few weeks for US stocks. It means that Zuckerberg has moved from sixth place to fourth place on the world billionaire list in just one week - all while he is off work to spend time with his newborn daughter Maxima.

Yesterday, The Supreme Court affirmed the elections of Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State and Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State.

A seven-man bench, presided over by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud Mohammed, unanimously affirmed the governors’ elections after upholding their separate appeals against the judgments of the Court of Appeal, which had ordered their removal from office.

The decisions of the Supreme Court put paid to the legal actions initiated against Emmanuel and Ikpeazu, who contested the elections on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party on April 11, 2015, by their arch rivals.

While Emmanuel’s election was challenged by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Okon Umana, that of Ikpeazu was challenged by All Progressive Grand Alliance’s candidate, Dr. Alex Otti.
