EA Sports has confirmed that EA FC 24 will be getting a free Euro 2024-themed update next summer, to coincide with the real-life competition kicking off.

EA Sports is taking the opportunity to drum up more hype around the game with its announcements that EA FC 24 will indeed be getting a free UEFA Euro 2024 in-game update.

The news is actually a pretty big deal; while FIFA 23 players were treated to a FIFA World Cup update last year, it's been a while since there's been a European Championship mode in an EA Sports title. FIFA 21 missed out on a Euro 2020 mode due to Konami having the official license for the tournament for its eFootball series (previously Pro Evolution Soccer).

That's one of the many benefits following EA's split from FIFA, but the trade-off is that it's very unlikely that the EA Sports FC series will feature World Cup modes in the future.
