PS. having a DPS Cert doesn't guarantee you a job. and also doesn't make it easier in any way, you would still face challenges of Employers asking you to pay for your visa. unless they are bigger players. as most security prefer hiring you from the scratch so as to pay a lower salary.

U see experience they say is the best teacher,peeps makes this dps thing a big deal in my hood, everyone in my company wana try out, I saw a job ad for security guards in Sharjah for 1000aed and I was like wtf after the whole dps thing u wana pay me 1k...now I see the reason... Shey u dey use the certificate now or u into something completely different

This Dps thing is no joke, alot of people do fail the physical aspect of it, check YouTube and see the rigorous training people go through there, 25 press up abi na push up, like 25 sit ups, 1200 km marathon, see as people dey faint...the theory aspect of the course no go be wahala I trust my brothers... I don't go to Deira. There's someone in my coy that we (Nigerians) give money to go and send for us, once we're paid. Anybody that wants to send money, would give him 5AED extra for trans. So it's cheaper for me cos if I were to go myself, I'll spend more than 30AED to and fro. I dey hear gists of the Deira girls.
I dey go St. Michaels Catholic Church Sharjah.

OK I have my emirates ID and also Sharjah international airport zone ID, without the ID u won't be allowed to enter the camp..
Lol yes we have someone here too but he charges us 10aed each and we about 10 Nigerians here so imagine, I stopped giving him and go to deira myself, do enough window shopping, sightseeing and go home very late most times 3am to 4am I still dey deira... Bro u need to learn how to go out and forget the exchange rate... E no go make sense after 2 years in UAE u never enter Dubai mall...

Bro you can always call MOHRE on 800665 to get specific guidelines about how you can change job successfully. For instance, when I called them, they said from my contract, (I wasn't given a copy) my probation ends 25/10/2017. And if I am able to serve my current employer, a one month notice of resignation, I do not need to pay the employer any money.
Whereas, our HR tells us that if we wish to resign we'll pay 4kAED (visa fee). Now I know better, that it's just to intimidate us. My major worry right now, is how to sign an offer letter with a better coy ASAP.
About family, I miss them too, but the thought of getting invite to interview and a better job surpresses that emotion. More so, they're the reason I'm struggling to be successful, so when next I meet them it'll be worth my long absence.

The way we talk here about changing jobs after 6months as if its very easy to do....
I thought it was but now that am in the system the shit sucks... I got to know that UAE labour laws does not really apply to all, the 45 free zones in the country has different employment laws, so what works in Sharjah free zone does not necessarily work at hamriya or ajman free zone..

My company, for u to cancel after 6months u Gona pay the sum of 3000aed, our boss calls it visa fee, but I think he does that to scare people even though it's in the contract we signed, the last person to cancel payed sha o, am still yet to visit Sharjah Free zone to find out what it entails if I wana cancel after 6months..

Been 3months already like play like play December I go be 6months, the beauty of this country is when goin to deira to pay money to my account, the feeling is bliss, even tho na change I dey collect...

Sad thing about me living here so far is my family, I miss them like crazy... To me family is everything.

This is my first time of posting on this forum but been following for over 5 years ago. Fast forward to may 12 2017 I headed the immigration office to renew my passport and got it same day after paying for fast track, July 18 I got my UAE (Dubai) visa and booked tickets for August 2nd via Kenya airways touched down Dubai terminal 1 5am on August 3rd and so the hustle begin.

Thanks to Tunde on here he showed me where to get sim cards and Metro and few things, went for Florist interview same day and that was one of the most embarrassing moment of my life as I was interrupted during interview the boss said am not competent and he sees me as a troublemaker I almost cried, summoned courage and went to Ajman via Bus that night 9pm cos that's Whr my bedspace is. Touchdown Ajman 11pm and the whole hustle began.

I'm just gonna be precise and won't exaggerate I attended more than 30 interviews, spent 1050 aed on transport and 315 aed on airtime cos I was subscribing to daily saver package 2.50aed daily for calls and 50mb data to check mail and all, couple of disappointment, raised hope in nothing. The most annoying one was Ghassan aboud group I passed the interview they called me to come and sign offer letter on getting there they turned it to another interview and was Disqualified again, I cried couple of times like was I not good enough, I was one of the best dressed in my university days and graduated with Second Class upper I would say most of the interviews I attended was more of interrogation, I even told my mom that something is wrong with me, maybe witches of bad luck � we we're 8 in the room at ajman all Nigerian and I was the only educated one they almost made me feel like my dreams and aspirations are unrealistic they settled down for construction job and I refused.
To cut the story short I received a call from one of the companies I have applied and they sent interview location the following day at Abu Dhabi 2 hours away from my location my friends told me not to go cos that location will cost me 200 aed to and fro falcon tower ajman - saadiyat island Abu Dhabi, I went with faith and to my greatest surprise the interviewer was impressed and I filled employment form same day the following day the company applied for my CID check which took 6days and they sent me offer letter, position Steward team leader - salary AED 2800 with accommodation, feeding and transportation. I got my visa within 3days as its a government of Abu Dhabi hotel and I didn't pass through Labour.
I'm sharing all this information right now to motivate everyone out there that feels rejected, down or feels like things are not just going right I want you to trust in God and never settle for less, never let nobody talk you out of your dreams. I'm a living testimony of grace, if I can land a good job trust me brothers and sisters you can too....Peace out.... With love from Abu Dhabi.
