AKBliv010:
It's possible it will run faster because when you do a clean install it will get rid of unnecessary applications running in the background. That's why I wanted you to send me a screen shot of the startup tab I task manager. It's possible to improve the performance before doing a clean install.

Before doing a clean install backup important files to an external drive or USB. My laptop only has 4GB RAM and 256GB SSD and its enough for Windows 10.

From Microsoft website, it's free to upgrade to 10.

Incompatible drivers/softwares
Ram
Virus
Fragmented hard drive

Junks hardly slow down system except your hard drive is almost full

Lexusgs430:
Why move backwards, when forward is a better option?

AKBliv010:
It's down to preference. I prefer Win10. It's free to upgrade to Win10 from Win 8.1 so why not. You can revert back easily if you don't like it.

computerboy:
A lot of things can cause a laptop to become slow. If you're sure it's the junks use either

AVG tuneup or
CCleaner

AKBliv010:
Nice one but what I need is the "Startup" tab, you've sent the "Processes" tab..

edit: noticed your disk running at 100%, that can make it run slow but well try and make it perform better. Although this is an article in Feb 2016 and may have been fixed, I won't trust that Avast Safezone BS - http://www.pcworld.com/article/3030319/security/researcher-finds-serious-flaw-in-chromium-based-avast-safezone-browser.html

We may need to uninstall some software, so download this please - http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html

Lexusgs430:
Windows 10 is now getting smoother and more fluid, after lots of updates.
But it is not immune to junk collection and resource hog. So the aforementioned softwares, would help purge all the junks.

Ccleaner & Advanced Systemcare 9

MSVCR stands for MS = Microsoft, V = Visual, C = C++, R = Redistributable so it will be in one of those links I sent earlier. What version of MK are you trying to install. Is it an original disk or a download? AFAIK, the non-legit MKX required a fix.

1. Try re-instaling the game.Does it give you an option to install and MSVCR files?
2. Re-install the download from the first link...the 2012 update 4.

Minimum system requirements:
OS: 64-bit: Vista, Win 7, Win 8.
Processor: Intel Core i5-750, 2.67 GHz. | AMD Phenom II X4 965, 3.4 GHz.
Memory: 3 GB RAM.
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460. | AMD Radeon HD 5850.
DirectX: Version 11.
Network: Broadband Internet connection.
Hard Drive: 25 GB available space.

LucemFerre:
Next time, In order to help you with missing files we would need the error code not "...something like that..."
That said, I think it could be d3dx9_n (n=serial number of dx file)... If it is, copy the exact name of the missing engine file and Google it's download and then download it via the dlldump.com link if it isn't the file that's missing still do a search and download the single engine file... Then paste it in the pes 16 destination folder

AKBliv010:
Can you share the actual error, there are several DLL files with different codes? Without know which it is, it's difficult to point you in the right direction.

Presh21:
does it have a graphic or game memory?
