2GB nvidia 850m

I'm currently about to change this to a Dell with an nvidia gtx 960m.

Cant tell u which specific brand to go for. But what u should be looking for at that price range is:
- at least 4gig ram
- core i5, 4th generation and above
- dedicated gpu with at least 1 gig vram
- 1TB hdd

and its a bomb
the gtx 1080 and gtx 1070

hopefully this would drive down the price of other cards for gamers who like to put together their CPU part by part.

Already happening. Nvidia has announced price cuts on the 970,980 and 980Ti. A website I use here has seen 980ti slashed from £550 to £399

I could use the 12gig and those CUDA's ... It wasn't particularly a gaming card, it's kind of a workstation card... I cant drain my blood to buy mid/high range quadros so, this wouldn't be bad at all for a freelance...

that's because there aren't enough 1070/1080's. When that becomes surplus prices will fall further but it's begun.

Yea... Maya... That was why I bought gt 730 4gig version... I know it's a crappy gaming card and probably a gimmick because some say it has no difference with the 2gig but I needed the render speed anyhow

The funny thing is that it's at cheaper than the old cards so the priced of GPUs are crashing like the naira
