Tinubu is president. His disastrous economic policies mascurading as economic reforms have brought hardship, hunger, and a surge in insecurity. So yes, people have every reason to talk about him.

Meanwhile, Peter Obi is just a private citizen minding his business. So why is a man with no current political office living rent-free in your medulla oblongata? Be honest, is it politics, obsession, or premium-grade witchcraft?

PoliticsFresh Crisis Hits PDP As Wike ‘Pulls Out Of All Agreements’ by Bobloco(op): 3:21pm On May 25, 2025
The FCT Minister said he had pointed out to the Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, the he was the architect of the party’s present problems.

Wike said he told Governor Makinde that “non-adherence to agreements reached was the bane of the party, and that he was the chief culprit of this anomaly”.

He made his points in a statement on Sunday, titled; “PDP Crisis: My Position,” which he personally signed, and made available to Vanguard.

The Minister insisted that resolutions reached that Senator Samuel Anyanwu remained the National Secretary of PDP in tandem with the Supreme Court judgement, all legal matters relating to Rivers State be withdrawn by the National Legal Adviser, the suit on the state of emergency be withdrawn forthwith, and that nobody should deviate from the agreements so reached, must be respected by all the parties involved.

‘Since 2023’
The statement read: “Since after the 2023 general election, PDP has been wantonly swinging from one part of a slippery precipice to another, owing fundamentally to dishonesty and lack of trust amongst its key stakeholders.

“To stem this ugly trend, efforts have been made to arrest this pernicious virus of dishonesty and treachery and enthrone fidelity to agreements with a view to stabilizing the party and moving it forward.

“To this end, a meeting of the G5 was held in Lagos.

“In that meeting, I made it clear to the Governor of Oyo State, H.E. Seyi Makinde, that he was the architect of our problems, pointing out to him that non-adherence to agreements reached was the bane of the party, and that he was the chief culprit of this anomaly. At the end of the meeting, we resolved to bury the hatchet and make progress.

“As a follow-up to the aforementioned meeting, there was an expanded meeting in Abuja involving H.E. Seyi Makinde, H.E. Umaru Fintri, H.E. Bala Mohammed, H.E. Bukola Saraki, and in Saraki’s guest house. In that meeting, I made it clear that I had no personal problems with H.E. Bala Mohammed, except that he hides under the facade of Chairman of PDP Governors Forum to serially renege on agreements.

The resolutions
“Tensions rose mightily in the meeting and it took all concerned to calm frayed nerves. At the end of the meeting, we came to some resolutions, including:

“That Senator Samuel Anyanwu remains the National Secretary of the PDP in tandem with the Supreme Court judgement, all legal matters relating to Rivers State must be withdrawn by the National Legal Adviser, the suit on the state of emergency be withdrawn forthwith, and nobody should deviate from the agreements so reached.

“In the light of the foregoing, they pleaded with me to attend the stakeholders’ meeting at the Bauchi Government Lodge, regardless of my many engagements. I attended the meeting and clearly reiterated my earlier concerns, and to this end and in order to resolve all other lingering and pending issues, a committee was formed, headed by H.E. Bukola Saraki.

“It is disheartening to note that even before the Bukola Saraki Reconciliation Committee began its work, the gentleman’s agreement we reached at Saraki’s Guest House was already being crudely violated.

“To my chagrin, Seyi Makinde had connived with Peter Mba of Enugu State to orchestrate the summoning of the meeting of so-called South-East leaders to recommend that if Ude Okoye was not adopted as Secretary, they would pull out of the PDP. I have since granted an interview to the effect that, that resolution of the South-East leaders cannot hold.

“Again, Seyi Makinde organised some people in the National Secretariat to insist that the Deputy National Secretary should act as National Secretary, in violation of the agreement earlier reached. To attempt to give credence to this farce, a letter was written by the Deputy National Secretary, calling for a meeting of the NEC of the party.

“Furthermore, the letter confirming the candidacy of the governorship candidate of the party in the forthcoming governorship elections in Anambra State, duly signed by the National Secretary, Senator Anyanwu and the acting National Chairman, was portrayed as rejected by the party through a rebuttal letter signed by the National Publicity Secretary, acting on the orders of Seyi Makinde and Peter Mba.

“All these actions are in complete violation of the agreements reached and would not do the party any good whatsoever.

“On the 24th of May 2025, in Jos, for instance, a well publicised and properly attended zonal elective congress of the PDP was aborted because the letter inviting INEC to the congress was signed by the Deputy National Secretary of the party. INEC refused to attend because the proper signatory recognized by law, that is Senator Samuel Anyanwu, was not a signatory to the invitation notice.

“This is undeniably distasteful, provocative and annoying, to say the least.

“I have painstakingly put out all these facts so that PDP members and the general public would know the truth. I have been in this party since 1998 and have worked tirelessly for the survival of this party with all my strength and it is on record that none of these persons have done anything close to what I have done to sustain this party.

“What is more painful is that I contributed substantially to most of these governors winning their elections, yet I have not made any personal demands on any of them and I would never do so.

“Most importantly, I had thought that we could keep the trust amongst us, but since it is now obvious that they would continue to play games to the detriment of the party, as is the case in the current debacle in the North-Central zonal elections, I have now firmly decided to pull out of all agreements hitherto reached.

“I have decided to fight on until justice is attained

I know you didn’t read the piece, but this isn’t gossip. it’s fact. And the fact is, the naira became one of the worst-performing currencies in the world under the Tinubu administration
PoliticsFloating Into Collapse: How Tinubu Oversaw The Naira’s 247% Crash In Two Years by Bobloco(op): 1:36pm On May 25, 2025
Under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, the Nigerian naira has undergone a precipitous depreciation, exposing the fundamental flaws and shortcomings of the government’s so-called economic reforms.

Upon assuming office in May 2023, the Tinubu administration consolidated the country’s multiple exchange rate windows and permitted the naira to float freely. This abrupt policy shift triggered a sharp and immediate devaluation, with the naira plummeting from approximately ₦461 to ₦600 per US dollar within the first month, signaling a lack of preparedness and poor management of the nation’s currency.

Following this, government officials issued contradictory and ambiguous statements. Claims such as “the naira is allowed to find its true value” sought to justify the drastic devaluation by implying that previous rates were artificially maintained. However, in August 2023, the then Acting Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Folashodun Shonubi, acknowledged the naira was “significantly undervalued” based on purchasing power parity, a tacit admission of systemic currency mismanagement.

By the end of 2023, the official exchange rate had deteriorated further to ₦1,041 per US dollar, placing the naira among the world’s worst-performing currencies. The depreciation accelerated into 2024, with the naira trading at approximately ₦1,825 per dollar in early 2024, the highest exchange rate ever recorded and the most severe collapse in Nigeria’s history.

Currently, with the naira valued at over ₦1,600 per US dollar, the currency has lost more than 247% of its official value since the inception of the Tinubu administration. Despite repeated optimistic projections from the government, the persistent slide of the naira lays bare the failure of the so-called economic reforms to stabilize the economy or restore confidence. Instead, Nigerians continue to endure escalating inflation, reduced purchasing power, and growing economic hardship, underscoring the disconnect between policy rhetoric and economic reality.

Politics2027 Election Results Have Been Written, Democracy Is Gone — Sowore by Bobloco(op): 7:56pm On May 24, 2025
Speaks On May 29

One of Nigeria’s fiercest opposition voices, Omoyele Sowore, in this interview opens up on the Tinubu administration, the death of democratic ideals, the collapse of opposition politics, and why he doesn’t believe in elections.

Sowore also explains why he wouldn’t align with Labour Party or Peter Obi, and what Nigerians must do before 2027.
Excerpts:

What are your thoughts on the Tinubu-led government as we approach another Democracy Day?

My position on this government is not a thought—it’s a clear stance I’ve held long before the 2023 elections. Nigerians made a grave mistake voting Bola Tinubu into office. I said it before, and I’ll say it again: when Tinubu is done with this country, Nigerians will be begging to return to Buhari’s era. He has done irreparable damage—economically, socially, politically. He has crippled institutions, education, and democracy. Buhari killed Nigeria in eight years; Tinubu came, in two years he is burying it.

So, you don’t think there’s anything to celebrate on this Democracy Day?
Nothing. In fact, what Nigerians are whispering—dangerously—is that they no longer believe in democracy. The promises of democracy—free speech, credible elections, freedom to choose—have been destroyed. Today, people celebrate military dictators just to express their frustration. But to be clear, I don’t support military rules. What we have now is a shambolic democracy. We’ve been taken on a roller coaster ride by both military and civilian rulers.

The House of Representatives is proposing a law to make voting compulsory. Are you ready to stand against this law if it passes?
If you have to use threats to force people to vote, then democracy is dead. Democracy is about choice. You cannot force people to participate in a system they no longer believe in. That proposal is not about participation; it’s about forced legitimacy. They’re panicking because fewer people are voting, so they want to cook up numbers and call it turnout. The people making these laws already know I will stand against them. But they also know the law is not enforceable. You can’t force people to vote when you haven’t fixed the electoral process.

Some Nigerians describe you as too radical and uncompromising. What’s your response?

I don’t think I’m radical enough. People who say that haven’t studied history. Every meaningful change in this world came through so-called radicals. I will not water down my convictions to please those who want me to fit into a box. The louder voices online don’t represent the majority of Nigerians. Those who truly suffer in this country know what I stand for—and they agree.

Has the Revolution Now movement died down?
Not at all. Revolutions take time. The French Revolution took over 10 years. The American Revolution, Cuban, Chinese revolutions all took time. You don’t judge a revolution by how loud it is. You judge it by how persistent the message is.

And that message is still alive. More Nigerians are openly asking for change today than they did in 2019. That’s progress.

Your campaign against the IGP—how far have you gone with it?
It has achieved results. Over 1,000 illegally retained senior police officers have been forced out. Police officers who haven’t been promoted in 20 years are now getting promoted. It has created a shift. But the ultimate goal is to get the IGP to resign—he’s overstayed. We haven’t given up.

There’s concern that the opposition voice is dying. What’s your view?

That’s because what you call opposition isn’t opposition. Most of them are former APC or PDP members. They share the same ideology—or lack of one. Real opposition means clear ideological difference. What we have are political mercenaries looking for the best-paying camp.

Are you saying there’s no true opposition?
Exactly. Most of these defections are transactional. They’re not about values or service. If you dig deeper, you’ll realise they’re just fighting over how to share the loot, not about how to serve the people.

Are you running in 2027?
I get this question a lot. My answer remains the same: I’ve never stopped running. Whether it’s a campaign, a protest, a court battle—I’m always running for something. But if you’re asking about elections, I don’t believe in the current ballot system. The 2027 results are already written. The only thing that can change Nigeria is rebellion against the system, against another sham election, not against democracy, anyway..

But can rebellion work without alliances?
The alliance I care about is with the oppressed. They are the real majority. The 50 million registered voters who don’t vote—they’re my alliance. Not transactional coalitions built to chase power and money.

Let’s talk about Atiku. Is he still relevant in Nigerian politics?
Atiku is a man whose time has passed. But he’s still hanging around, hoping to be President. That’s all he cares about. Everything else is irrelevant to him.

Some Nigerians believe Tinubu is laying foundations for a better Nigeria. What do you say to that?

They are being deceived. There’s nothing good coming from this. Removing fuel subsidy, floating the naira—none of it benefits ordinary people. The naira is still collapsing. Prices are rising. If they say this is the “hard road to prosperity”, I say it’s a road to destruction
