Those are the kind of shameless individuals working for Tinubu. In the future, when he is reminded that he once threatened to jail Yahaya Bello, he will deny it, just as Nuhu Ribadu is denying today that he didn't describe Tinubu as a criminal with an international dimension, and he will ensure that Tinubu will not escape justice and will face the full wrath of the law. |
Nuhu Ribadu is a shameless man |
The worst thing that happened to this nation is the coming on board of the Janjawiid party |
Founder and Chairman board of trustees of the Northern Star Youth Initiatives, Hajia Naja’atu Muhammad, has reacted to reports of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, demanding apology over her viral TikTok video. Naja’atu, in a recent video sighted by our correspondent, dared the NSA to go to court if he has issues with her statement, saying she’s not ready to apologise for his ‘forgetfulness’. Meanwhile, Hajia Muhammad, in the viral TikTok video, claimed that the current NSA is serving in President Bola Tinubu’s government, whom he had criticised as ‘corrupt’ when he was the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). However, Tribune Online reports that the NSA Ribadu, through his lawyer, Dr Ahmed Raji (SAN), said he never publicly or privately accused Tinubu of being a corrupt government official. The NSA therefore urged Naja’atu Muhammad to tender an unreserved apology, noting that the damage had been done to his reputation. But Naja’atu Muhammad, while responding, said she stood by her original statement and would never be intimidated by those she referred to as “attack dogs” from the NSA. She said, “There’s no retreat. No surrender. No apologies to Nuhu Ribadu. I’m speaking in response to the recent threats and intimidation by Nuhu Ribadu using his attack dogs and his lawyer, Ahmed Raji and Co. “Regarding my statement that the then chairman of the EFCC had publicly accused the then Governor of Lagos State, Ahmed Bola Tinubu of being and I quote ‘a corrupt government official who will not escape justice’.” Continuing, she noted her acknowledgment of the possibility of Nuhu Ribadu to have forgotten or retracted his past comment, but stated that her words accurately reflected her views on the matter already in public domain. “While I acknowledged that Nuhu Ribadu might have forgotten or chosen to retract his comment from the past, I stand by my statement and do not believe an apology is warranted. Apology to whom exactly? To President Tinubu for the earlier comments made by his now National Security Advisor? Or apology to Nuhu Ribadu for his forgetfulness and master-serving mindset. “I stand by my original statement and will not be retracting it. My words accurately reflect my views on the matter based on what is already in the public domain. And I do not believe an apology or retraction is necessary,” Naja’atu Muhammad added. The Northern Star Youth Initiative leader urged the NSA to approach the court as he has threatened, saying, “I will not compromise my position to appease Nuhu Ribadu and his attack dogs. I will not retract my statement nor will I apologize for speaking the truth as I see it. You have issues, as you’ve threatened; please go straight to the court. But nothing will silence me. https://tribuneonlineng.com/tinubu-i-wont-apologise-for-your-forgetfulness-najaatu-muhammad-dares-ribadu/amp/ |

helinues:Truly, we are seeing and witnessing the tremendous impact of Tinubu's 'bolekaja' economic policy prescriptions on the Nigerian economy. In fact, we have seen how Tinubu, who never fumbled when faced with tough economic questions and famously said, 'Na statistics we go chop,' has ensured that inflation rose from 22.41% in May 2023 to a near 30-year high of 34.8% as of today. We are also seeing the tremendous impact of the policies of the self-acclaimed first-class accountant on the value of the Naira, ensuring it loses over 80% of its value since May 2023. Furthermore, we are witnessing how Tinubu's policies are shaping up, leading Nigeria to become the largest IDP camp on earth, with its citizens lining up to receive a few grains of rice to survive, while others are trampled and stampeded to death over these same grains. |
The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, has clarified reports by some media outlets (not Daily Trust) that the federal government has scrapped the Junior Secondary School (JSS) and Senior Secondary School (SSS) and replaced them with a new 12-year uninterrupted basic education model. Alausa, who stated this while addressing the media on Friday, said he merely presented a proposal for discussion at the National Council on Education (NCE) on Thursday to put the idea out for them to discuss. He said it was not an immediate policy change as suggested by some sections of the media. He said, “At the Extraordinary National Council on Education (NCE) Meeting held on February 6, 2025, in Abuja, I presented a proposal for discussion—not an immediate policy change. The proposal seeks to migrate to 12 years of compulsory education while retaining the current 6-3-3 structure. “A key aspect of this proposal is to eliminate the examination barrier between JSS and SSS, allowing for a seamless transition of students without the hurdles of an external assessment at that stage. However, this is still a subject of consultation and deliberation. “What we’re saying is that we need to move from what we have now as nine years compulsory education to 12 years of compulsory education as it’s obtained in other parts of the world. “If you look back into the history of Nigeria 40 years ago, people that went through the primary education then and got up to standard six, if you compare the level of education, the level of instruction, even at Standard 3 then, it’s much better than what we get in JSS 3 now. And today, our quality of instruction and education is falling, and if we let these kids continue to graduate with nine years of compulsory education, we’re literally just training illiterates. We’re not preparing them for the future. “So, keeping the nine years of compulsory education would not be sufficient for our children, and that’s why we’re thinking, we’re proposing that we move to 12 years of compulsory education. And I want to reassure you, this will still stay within the ambit of our primary school, JSS and SSS.” The minister said to ensure a well-informed decision, the ministry would undertake extensive stakeholder engagements over the next eight months, consulting widely with education policymakers, state governments, teachers, parents, and other key players and the final decision on whether to adopt the reform would be made at the October 2025 National Council on Education Meeting. He urged the public to disregard the false claim that JSS and SSS have been scrapped. https://dailytrust.com/we-didnt-scrap-jss-sss-minister/ |
.....accountability Erstwhile presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Mr Peter Obi, has said that there is no corresponding breakdown of expenditures to justify the increase in the 2025 national budget. The statement comes after President Bola Tinubu, on Thursday, increased the appropriation bill for the 2025 fiscal year from N49.7 trillion to N54.2 trillion. DAILY POST reported that Tinubu announced the increment in separate letters, which he forwarded to both the Senate and the House of Representatives. Reacting to the development, Obi said that Nigerians need to know how the resources generated are being allocated for the sake of transparency and accountability. This, he said, was to ensure that they were judiciously spent on the country’s development and the well-being of the people. In a statement issued on Friday via his X handle, the former Anambra state Governor said Nigerians were still waiting for a detailed account of the execution and expenditures of the Renewed Hope budget passed in December 2023. Obi further called on the National Assembly to seize this opportunity to obtain and make public the full details of the 2024 budget. He said: “Yesterday, I read about the increase in the Budget of Restoration to N54 trillion due to increased revenue. “While the sources of this revenue were detailed, there is no corresponding breakdown of expenditures to justify the increase. For transparency and accountability sake Nigerians need to know how the resources generated from them are being allocated to ensure that they are judiciously spent on the country’s development and the well-being of the people. “Such expenditures should be directed toward critical areas of development; education, healthcare, security, and poverty alleviation. “Furthermore, Nigerians are still waiting for a detailed account of the execution and expenditures of the Renewed Hope budget passed in December 2023 to ensure that it has been properly utilized for the country’s future development and the well-being of its citizens. “I call on the National Assembly to seize this opportunity to obtain and make public the full details of the 2024 budget of Renewed Hope budget. “Transparency in this regard is crucial for ensuring accountability, learning from past budgets, and making informed decisions for the nation’s progress. “As we work towards passing the Budget of Restoration for 2025, let us uphold openness, accountability, and the welfare of the Nigerian people. We owe it to ourselves, our children, and the future of our great nation. -PO” https://dailypost.ng/2025/02/07/n54-2-trillion-budget-peter-obi-questions-tinubu-govt-on-transparency-accountability/ |

The Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) has vowed to “down tools,” arguing that citizens are “feeding from hand to mouth” following the recent hike in telecom tariff. Festus Osifo, the President of TUC, made this known when he appeared on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, blaming the hike on mismanagement of foreign exchange, which he believes the government can handle easily. He said the TUC is not begrudging the telcos, knowing very well that the socio-economic landscape they operate in has changed dramatically, but insisted that the government has the responsibility to ensure that the economic outlook of the country is stable for businesses to thrive. According to him, “Government has the tools and wherewithal to be able to manage the landscape to ensure that the cost of doing business goes down. And one of the ways is that exchange rate because that is the root cause of the problem.” Asked what ultimatum they are giving to the Nigerian government, he added, “The NAC [TUC, which is like the National Working Committee] has met today. After that, we’ll have the Central Working Committee meeting, and we also have the NEC. “So at the NEC, we’ll take the final decision. So the NAC was the one that met today. “All we are saying is that if you allow your currency to slide, it will affect all of us.” He added, “We are completely apolitical. For one, I don’t belong to any political party; I’ve said that severally, so we look for what is in the best interest of the Nigerian workers and Nigerians in general. “We started shouting about this early last year; if our exchange rate is better managed, at the end you are going to see that there is no need for that increment.” Asked if the TUC is proceeding with an industrial action, he said, “Absolutely,” adding that they will “down tools and go to the streets.” He said the NEC of TUC has the responsibility to give a date for the strike. DAILY POST reports that members of the Trade Union Congress are in charge of the oil sector and other sectors crucial to the running of the economy. https://dailypost.ng/2025/02/06/telecom-tariff-hike-were-proceeding-on-strike-nationwide-protest-tuc/ |

blacknp:blanknp, you are not a true Igbo pikin, but you know the meaning of 'Nwa Afo Igbo.' Does that make you obedient, always wailing about Tinubu? |
PulaPower:Those who are truly not frustrated do not display extreme anger or hatred toward individuals they have never met or come into contact with, such as the kind of anger and hatred some people have for Peter Obi, whom they have neither met nor share anything in common with. |
PulaPower:Channel this energy towards Tinubu, whose wicked and draconian policies masquerading as economic reforms are responsible for your frustrations and anger. |
