In as much as this whole thing is painful I still believe if not tackle will not help anyone. Everyone who has contributed so far have made a valid point. The only thing I want to add is this. DEAL HUNTERS SHOULD HAVE ONLY ONE NUMBER FOR WHATSAPP AND LET THAT BE THE MAIN NUMBER YOU ARE KNOW WITH HERE ON NAIRALAND. AND IF POSSIBLE WE SHOULD POST A DIRECT LINK TO MESSAGE YOU ON WHATSAPP IN OUR SIGNATURE SONIT CAN BE EASIER THAN COPYING NUMBERS AND ALL.

Good
So that if someone say he is bobo65, you just copy the name and search on nl, then click the whatsapp link, if it doesn't link you to the person you are chatting with, raise an alarm.
Easy

What I can think about now is

ALL NEW MONIKERS OR DEAL HUNTERS MUST STATE THE NAME OF THEIR PICKERS ON THE ADVERTS, ANY NEW DEAL HUNTER THAT POSTS ADVERTS WITHOUT THE ATTACHMENT OF A KNOWN PICKER SHOULD BE FLAGGED and if possible, his advert reported and deleted.

And pickers should please, once in a while go through the Deal thread and see deals to know those who falsify pick ups.

If I think of more, I'll drop

Let me say my own oh

All the pickers and all the deal hunters are supposed to put head together and find a best way to minimize scammers activities.

I remember when scamming was on e-currency thread was too much, the mod of the section locked the thread and the main dealers there put their heads together and efforts were made to cub out scammers.

Majority of the deal hunters here are keeping quiet because it doesn't concern them., I never see one picker here coming to show concern about these scammers.

Dragnet and other mods, I think this thread should be temporarily locked, when deal hunters and pickers see the effect of the lock on their business, they will sit up and start contributing towards making the thread a safe one.

Anybody that is vexed cos of this post can hit their head on the wall.
