Heres the problem with such courses; for instance you are looking for a job in France but you studied Philosophy in English the dynamics have completely changed, why? Because studying a course like Philosophy in French is a different ball game entirely from studying it in English, concepts are altered, lingo is different, perspectives are different due to political and cultural views etc if your degree was not obtained in a French speaking module, even if you speak French it is still different.

Such courses are regional specific, Philosophy in Japan also takes a very different twist, meaning you have to study Philosophy in Japanese to work in that feild in Japan. Your Nigerian Philosophy degree in most cases do not have the outlook for other countries.

However when it comes to science, 2x2 is 4 anywhere in the world.

Same goes for IT, technical concepts are pretty much the same worldwide

Except for SI units and metrics of measurements, language does not affect universal concepts that are practical.

Art courses are largely country dependent[b]. Nigeria's Law degree is useless outside the country[/b] but not for medicine or engineering. Also, in jobs' availability, even their citizens face low prospects and salaries. Check the lamentations by PhD grads in history, philosophy, political science etc. Now, compare to science based courses and you will see the difference. Someone with a PhD in Computer Science from Princeton will quickly get a job anywhere in the world over his counterpart with a PhD in history from the same institution.

With law, you would need to go back to law school. English teaching works provided you get certified and target non-english speaking nations but it still does not pay as much as the sciences.
