In Ikole local government in Ekiti state, the people of Iyemero have have asked for the immediate removal of their monarch, Oba Ebenezer Agboola Ogungbemi, the Olu of Iyemero.
Their grievance was made known in a public protest staged by the community members on saturday before and after a peace meeting chaired by Oba Mumuni Adebayo Orisagbemi, Attah of Ayede who tried to reconcile the Oba with his people.
The people of Iyemero accused Oba ogungbemi of embezzelment of allowances due to chiefs, illegal sales of the community's acestral land and illegal arrest and detention of his subjects.

The All Progressive Congress, Lagos State chapter has urged the national leadership of the party to punish the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, for betrayal.
In a statement by its publicity secretary, Mr. Joe Igbokwe, Lagos-APC said it was saddening that Saraki could ‘jump into bed’ with the Peoples Democratic Party in his desperation for power.
Igbokwe described the re-election of Senator Ike Ekweremadu as the Deputy Senate President as an embarrassment to the APC.

The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to give him the privilege of nominating an Ekiti indigene for appointment into his cabinet.
He said he had written to Buhari and hope that the President’s response would be favourable.
Fayose said, “I shall be happy to nominate a worthy and competent professional who can always oblige your Excellency and your cabinet the benefit of a second opinion in the serious business of governance.”
He said he wrote the letter based on the declaration made by the President that he would put the overall interest of the country above every other, particularly political partisanship and biases.
He said even former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, appointed the late Chief Bola Ige as the Minister for Justice despite Ige being a member of the Alliance for Democracy.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday met with members of the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress inside the Defence House, Maitama, Abuja behind closed doors.
The National Working Commitee were led to the meeting by the party’s National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.
After the meeting, Odigie-Oyegun told journalists that they decided to embark on the visit in order to assure the President of their loyalty and to express their determination to work with him through thick and thin.
He said Buhari could always depend on the party which he used as a platform to become the President.
He alsocadded that the party noted the fact that Nigerians’ expectations were extremely high and that the public expects a totally new dawn.

President Muhammadu Buhari has appealed to Nigerians to bear with his administration as he and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo begin the work of reconstructing the nation.
He said the appeal was necessary because of the great damage that had been done to the system before they came on board.
Buhari made this appeal in his remarks on Friday at the inauguration gala night held inside the old Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The event which took place a few hours after he and Osinbajo took their oaths of office and oaths of allegiance before a mammoth crowd at the Eagle Square, Abuja where he promised to be the President of all.
“I ask Nigerians to please bear with us; a lot of damage has been done. You can look at our infrastructure in 1999 and now and you will appreciate this,” he said.
