TV/MoviesAnyone Noticed Any Changes In Cnn Anchors? by boleyn(op): 6:32pm On Oct 06, 2006
I wonder if anyone else noticed that lately, news anchors on CNN have lightened up a lot, even to the point of sometimes airing their own opinions on issues they are reporting and sometimes even joking about them.
In particular,Kristie Lu Stout,Hugh Rimington,Anjali Rao,and even the previously stern-looking Ralitsa Vassileva(she actually has a smile inside her!)
Former anchor Sonia Ruseller was different;she had a smile that could make anyone smile.I feel she left too soon, and she left long befre these guys lightened up,but somehow,I think Femi Oke began this revolution.I give her credit for it.
Has anyone noticed?

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Urgent Vacancies! by boleyn(m): 6:45pm On Oct 01, 2006
@akintos_o:
you should have stopped at your initial statement in which you tried to get us to see that the ad was for real.you went too far by questioning my upbringing and all that.
regardless of where YOU might have been brought up,the reality is that Nigera today is an "environment of doubts"(whatever that means).
secondly,i think i speak for myself and others when i say its really nice to be insulted by someone who also needs a job.choose your words carefully.besidesm you know,it is possible to get your message across without being nasty about it.
but thanks for the ad all the same.

CrimeRe: Sexually Abused by Step-brother by boleyn(m): 10:50am On Sep 28, 2006
i'm sorry about the abuse. Its one thing to go through it,and another thing to be told about it.So ,please forgive their insensitivities.
i understand exactly what you must be going through, but yoiu are not alone in this.
I too was abused when I was 5 or 6,or even earlier,by more than one cousin, both male and female.today,i'm bisexual, and all people do is condemn ME for something i was too young to stop. Now i'm really not sure if i'm bi becos of the abuse or otherwise, but it may have contributed to it.
I think first of all that you should talk to someone about it.A psychologist would have been ideal but in Naija they all in the banks sotalk about it with someone who you respect and possibly someone who doesnt know your family too well.I have come to learn that talking about it with someone helps a lot.
i also think you should forgive your step-brother,but let him know what the abuse has done to you.what he says or how he responds is entirely up to him, dont even expect an apology, but by doing this and forgiving him,you are freeing YOURSELF.
and then move on.God will give you the strength to.
Good luck.
LiteratureRe: 'Purple Hibiscus' By Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie by boleyn(m): 10:25am On Sep 28, 2006
thanks prof.i'll go and look for it right away.
LiteratureRe: 'Purple Hibiscus' By Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie by boleyn(m): 10:22pm On Sep 25, 2006
i read Purple Hibiscus after i stumbled on it in a bookstore last year.I bought the book and have been back at the store 7 times to but it again, not because I want to own 8 copies of it,but because no one who's come to my place and read a bit of it,and then borrowed it has returned it.Its one special book, such a well-told story that you feel like you're in Kambili's head. When i read it the first time,I simply couldn't put it down till I finished it.The second time,I made myself read only a few pages every few hours, but I still finished it in less that 30 hours.
Does she have any other books out and available in Nigeria?
