Mod, please help me push this to the front page |
My brother is 17 and addicted to gambling. This addiction has cost us so much as a family especially my widowed mum. He is constantly selling things and using money meant for his rent, upkeep, etc to gamble. Just last week he used his laptop to gamble. We have used tough love and right now we have exhausted all options to make him stop. Like every other addiction if we are not proactive I'm afraid this will ruin him. Additional Information: He's currently a 200L student of a federal uni but ever since he gained admission it has been one problem or the other caused by gambling. I'm thinking of withdrawing him and put him in a juvenile home if everything else fails. I need practical solutions and advice on how to make him stop. If you are a recovered gambler please share what helped you. |
Moderators, kindly help push this to the first page. I need all the advice and suggestions I can get. Thanks Edit Thanks to the mods who pushed this to the front page #grateful. Thank you all for your kind words and advice. I have taken my time to go through them all and I will definitely be looking into some of them. For those with the opinion that I should continue my father's business, unfortunately he was not a business man. He was a man who worked for 35 years and retired at the apex of his career. So yeah..... PPS : Please let the investment emails stop biko. I am not interested. PPPS: Why y'all calling me bro? |
Hello Nairalanders, So straight to the point. Please I need your advice about two things. 1. I just got my inheritance and I got cash of 8M and there's this popular belief of people squandering their inheritance,I don't want that to be my portion so which business can I invest it into. For context, I currently have a job and I'm not ready to quit so please put that into consideration. 2. My younger brother is still a student so he has asked me to save his portion of 6M in bank until he graduates but I don't think that's a good idea. I would rather he put it in some form of secure investment that will be yielding something. Kindly give us suggestions. May the soul of my beloved Father continue to rest in peace. Amen |
