Jesus has called us to heal the sick and cast out devils (mark 16:17-18). Sadly many believers don’t know how to, neither do they know how to pray and prepare to function in the anointing of the Holy Spirit to do such.

The good news is that how to pray and prepare to minister healing to the sick and cast out devils can be taught. The disciples of Jesus came to Jesus and asked the Lord to teach them how to pray and Jesus went ahead to teach them how to pray (Luke 11:1-3)

The disciples of Jesus saw the way God was using Jesus; they saw the Power, the healings, the miracles and the mighty acts of God in and through Jesus. They wanted to be used of God the same way and knew that Jesus’ prayer life was the key to having such a mighty ministry of signs, wonders, power, healings and miracles.

The asked Jesus “Master, teach us how to pray” and Jesus did.

The fact here is this:

“IF HOW TO PRAY CAN BE TAUGHT, THEN HOW TO PRAY AND PREPARE TO MINISTER IN A HEALING AND MIRACLE SERVICE CAN BE TAUGHT AS WELL”

That’s the purpose of this book – To teach you how to pray and prepare to minister healing to the sick and cast out devils in any healing and miracle service or crusade.

Today we look at how to activate the eternal life of God in us! Let us start with the scripture above - Knowledge

#1: Knowledge -
Our new man (regenerated, born again spirit) needs to be constantly renewed in knowledge after the image (nature and life) of him (God) that created him!. This is very key to activating the eternal life (Life and Nature) of God in us! How can a king function as a king if he doesn't know that he is a king? In the same vein, even though you are a child of God, you can not activate and live out the eternal life of God in you if you don't know you've got it now; if you don't know what it means to have it; if you don't know the BENEFITS of having it! The amplified bible puts it this way:

"...for you have stripped off the old (unregenerate) self with its evil practices, :And have clothed yourselves with the new [spiritual self], which is [ever in the process of being] renewed and remolded into [fuller and more perfect knowledge upon] knowledge after the image (the likeness) of Him Who created it."

Note the words "And have clothed yourselves with the new [spiritual self], which is [EVER IN THE PROCESS OF BEING] RENEWED AND REMOLDED into [fuller and more perfect knowledge upon] knowledge after the image (the likeness) of Him Who created it."

The new you needs to be renewed and remoulded daily with knowledge and more knowledge of this new life AFTER THE IMAGE AND LIKENESS (eternal life and nature) of Him (God) who created him! What it means is that, it is not a one-off process. You have to constantly HAVE AND BE IN THE KNOWLEDGE of the fact that you have this life now and KNOWLEDGE of the BENEFITS of having this life now! Its a consciousness you carry with you regularly by knowledge and you act accordingly. That's the reason why this truth has to be taught in churches. Another fact here is that, you ought to find out what this life has got to offer you NOW! It is your responsibility and once you get a hold of it, you act on it!

#2: Daily Consciousness
With this knowledge comes consciousness! You become aware that you are not ordinary and you go about with that consciousness! By this level of heightened consciousness, you are able to reject every package of the devil that comes to you because you know it is not consistent with your new life to have it.

#3: Faith and Declaration
The knowledge you have of your new life produces consciousness which in turn builds faith! Having knowledge, consciousness and faith is not enough! You have to speak or constantly declare it "Eternal life is living and active in me! I am completely inundated with eternal life! It flows through me, giving life, health and strength to my body"

It is your declaration that activates the power and the mighty workings of this Life in you! And the more you declare it. and hear yourself say those words, the more your faith is built up and your spirit is conditioned to live out or manifest that Life!

So we know that faith comes from God. It is the “gift of God.” But He has given it to every believer. He has given to every believer the measure, or the same measure, of faith.

Its not about reading just anything, its about reading what matters.
You said people gathering at vendors place? What as Mikel scoring 3 goal got to do with your intelligence? However will celebrity fashion style(something Nairaland is guilty of everyday) add anything to your life.
When we say read, we means read books that teaches morals, virtues, skills, knowledge, ethics, intelligence and Motivates. Not just read to pass exams or comments on Facebook.
Population of Nigeria is estimated at 170mil, if 30% of this figure cannot read, 40% though can read, but have never try to read a book by popular authors from cover to cover - a man who DON'T read has no advantage over the man who CAN'T read. Then it is save to say Nigerians DON'T read and not CAN'T read.

We are in a way almost on thesame page here. Read the following excerpt from my post below and take note of the bold part:

Nigerian's don't read is a generic statement that holds no fact. What it implies is that the over 160 Million Nigerians do not read, suggesting also that we are unintelligent people. I believe this is not true.

Out of the over 160 Million Nigerian's an appreciable percentage reads. What matters is content and applicability of what is being read.

You talk about fashion. There are people who have made some career out of fashion - they started from just reading books and articles on fashion.

Most people who gather around news stands dont just gather for sports news, they read the headlines and go ahead to discuss political issues. Some of us who boast of reading books dont even know what is happening in the country, but these folks do.

What matters is the content and applicability of what is being read and we all cannot ALL read thes ame books or articles.

Whether we apply what we have read or not is another topic entirely. Whether we use what we read in our daily lives is a subject that stands on its own and needs to be addressed separately.

"Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever." - 1 Peter 1:23 KJV

The scripture above says we are born again not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible seed! It means when we were born by our parents, the life we had from them, which was in our blood (Leviticus 17:11) was of a corruptible type. It could be corrupted by sickness, disease, agents of death and evil! But when we got born again, that old corruptible life was done away with and an incorruptible life from an immortal origin which is everlasting was given to us by the WORD OF GOD!. The Amplified Bible puts it this way

"You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God." - 1 Peter 1:23 Amp.

We were born again from an immortal origin - an immortal seed which is the living and lasting Word of God! From the scripture we just read, one of the characteristics of the immortal seed or origin (Word of God) by which we were born again is that it is EVER LIVING AND LASTING. King James Translation says "which liveth and abideth for ever! This means the Word has eternal life in it! When the Word of God - the immortal seed or origin gave birth to us, eternal life was also imparted into us!

When a dog gives birth to a puppy, the puppy is born with a dog life. When a human being gives birth to its kind, the human life is given to it! So when an immortal seed or origin (The Word of God) which liveth and abideth forever (eternal life) gives birth to you, eternal life is given to you! Your old life is supplanted by eternal life!

Jesus is the WORD OF GOD which liveth and abideth forever. When we were "Word born", (Born Again) He gave us the nature and life of the Word which liveth and abideth forever and that is eternal life! The Bible says "And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life." - 1 John 5:11‭-‬13 NIV. Glory to God!

Sadly, christians dont know this truth! Many christian folks don't even know such exist! Also christian leaders themselves do not teach these things! The Apostles must have felt that such teachings are important that's why they wrote about them and taught them to their disciples in the bible. Such messages builds faith, builds strong Christians, edifies and renews the mind. It makes you not to accept anything the devil throws at you! Your consciouness of the life you've got helps to fortify you, increases your tenacity and makes you resist any package that is not consistent with Gods Word. A lot is possible with this life and having this mindset! Longevity is possible; Peace, prosperity and security is possible!

What you do with this information matters! What quality of life and health do you desire to have here on earth? All is possible if you learn to activate the eternal life of God in you! Today we will look at examples of those who manifested the Power of eternal life. Now, every disease or infection is represented in the blood! Doctors usually take blood samples to find out what is wrong with a person. Leviticus 17:11 says the life of every flesh is in the blood! So if a disease, germ or infection gets into a persons blood, it would affect the life and the system of that person! The affected blood carries the adamic life we got from our parents and it is this life that is affected by the disease But when we got born again, that adamic life that is easily corruptible was supplanted by the eternal life of God! THIS IS A FACT! The eternal life we received is incorruptible; it can't be sick or infected! This is a fact, and for it to work, you ought to accept it, believe it and learn to activate it in your life! Eternal Life resident and at work in you is a fact! Not believing it does not affect this reality!

Who are those who manifested the workings of eternal life in them.

#1: JESUS
The scripture above says "God has given us eternal life and that life (eternal life) is in his Son.' So Jesus had eternal life working in him.. The llfe in his blood was not the adamic sinful life, we all got from our parents - it was Gods life. Now we see eternal life, which cannot be sick or infected working in Jesus in Matthew 8:2-3 when he touched a man with a highly contagious disease called leprosy and yet, Jesus was not infected

"And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed." - Matthew 8:2‭-‬3 KJV

Those days, lepers were put outside the gate. In our days, they have their own community or colony at the outskirt of every town or village! Leprosy is known to be highly infectious and contagious. Yet Jesus touched this man and his blood was not infected! Why? Eternal life was at work in his blood

#2: PAUL (Acts 28:3-6)

Paul was bitten by a highly venomous snake! Everyone expected him to die! The snake venom was injected by the snake via bite into Paul's blood! The people didn't know that the life Paul carried in his blood was not the corruptible adamic life, but eternal life which has supplanted the old life! To the amazement of all, Paul just shook the snake into the fire and didn't drop dead as expected. No wonder he said "I am crucified with Christ nevertheless, I live, yet not I but Christ (The One in Whom is Eternal Life), Lives in me... And the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith (assurance of the indwelling life and grace) of the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me!" - Galatians 2:20

No wonder Jesus said "These signs shall follow them that believe, in My Name ... they will pick up serpents and if they take any deadly thing, it will not harm them". Mark 16:17-18

The eternal life we have is not just for heavenly life, we have it in us here for a purpose! As Christians we ought to ask questions; study your bible; know who you are; what you have and where you are in Christ and WHY IT IS SO? This is how mysteries unfold and once we get the revelation and run with it, we become a testimony of God to others!

"And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life." - 1 John 5:11‭-‬13 NIV

Many Christian folks don't know what it means to have eternal life! About 90% of Christian folks believe that eternal life is what you get as a reward when you get to heaven. This is wrong! Eternal life is already given to you NOW! It lives in you and it flows through you! The scripture above in NIV version says "God has given us eternal life, ...I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life." - 1 John 5:11‭-‬13 NIV. The Amplified Bible puts it this way:
"I write this to you who believe ..... so that you may know [with settled and absolute knowledge] THAT YOU [ALREADY] have life, yes, eternal life."

YOU ALREADY HAVE ETERNAL LIFE IN YOU! It is already living and active in you!

The Bible says THE LIFE OF EVERY FLESH IS IN THE BLOOD (Leviticus 17:11). The life you got from your mother and father before you got born again was sustained by blood! But when you got born again, that life was supplanted by eternal life! What does this mean to you? Think about it for a while.....

It means as a Christian, what sustains you NOW, and not when you get to heaven is eternal life! As blood flows through the veins, arteries and organs of every flesh, to sustain it, what flows through you to sustain you, to give life to you (though not seen with the optical eyes) is eternal life! Even though it is so; even though this is a fact, if you don't know about it; if you are not taught and if you don't know how to activate and live by the eternal life of God in you, you will still be affected by what affects men who are sustained by adamic sinful life which is in the blood! That's why God said "They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course. I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes." - Psalms 82:5‭-‬7 KJV

If you don't know and are not taught how to live by the eternal life of God in You, God said, you will walk on in darkness and will end up falling and dieing like mere men!

Did you know that eternal life can't be sick? Did you know that eternal life can't be poisend? Did you know that eternal life can't be infected? Eternal life is meant to sustain and give life to our flesh. I can prove all this to you from the scriptures.

We are not mere men; we are not meant to live like ordinary men! What flows through us is the life and nature of God and it is called eternal life! When God gave me understanding of this fact, my faith was built up and I began to declare it as a fact and a reality in my life! It changes your mindset and makes you not to be susceptible to what generally affects people! You need to know what you've got and learn to activate and live it!

Tomorrow, I will show us scriptural examples of people who understood this facts and lived by it. You don't want to miss this! You will be blessed just seeing this truths!

Knowledge is power

"Knowledge is power". This is true when by wisdom, you know how to apply the knowledge possessed

I have often heard these saying from people:

"To hide anything from a black man, put it in black and white"
"Nigerians don't read"

I dont believe this is entirely true.

Such claims attempts to discredit the blacks and prove that we are dull and unintelligent people.

You are reading this post now, so I ask you: "Are you dull? Are you uninteligent? Are you not reading now?"

Nigerians are hungry for new ideas and trends, that's why you have a lot of us visiting the internet, attending seminars or one training or the other and reading books both soft and hard copies on a daily basis.

The social media is not left out. Most Nigerians dont just visit facebook and the like to view pictures; we actually visit to read posts by people, both funny, intelligent and inspiring ones.

Check newstands, you will see a gathering of both schooled and unschooled people reading the headlines. Schools are filled with knowledge hungry students. Then what about THE HANDSOME/BEAUTIFUL YOU ..... you are a reading this - thats a proof that Nigerian's read.

This stand "That Nigerians Don't Read" is gradually gaining ascendancy in our society and gradually hurting our reading culture. As educators and lovers of good reads, let us fight this notion and project our nation as readers. Let us encourage our teenagers, youths and adults alike to take up the reading culture.
