It’s number 1 because he needs to pull the item up before 3 and 2 can have a chance. |
tnerro1:Most times they nominate their children perhaps he has none that could fill that position. He should have worked on getting a portfolio that requires less stressful attention. Some people’s life can be bought with money and fame; his case is a classic example. |
I don’t think many people watched the last part of the video. Omo! Nigerians security system has been hijacked by bandits. The man in the last video didn’t mince a word. He clearly states that Nigerian soldiers are the ones protecting the bandits in their operation, and even came with a life round exhibit (an army green bullet) probably the one that fell off from the bandits, and this only suggests that those bandits truly use heavy sophisticated weaponry. Why is our leadership doing this to us? |
SmartPolician:But Nigerian politicians are allowed to steal billions of dollars meant for public services for personal gains right ? You made no single sense. What Rufai is ditching out to them is a perfect reflection of the nature of our politicians. Why are they suddenly being detested by their own ways? Are Nigerian politicians professional? No. Are Nigerian politicians accountable? No. So, if Rufai was rude that’s what they trained Nigerians to become, so he shouldn’t feel bad. He who wants equity must come to equity with clean hands. |
guobe:I just have to quote you. Do you know that accountability is an underlining feature of any government institution or administration? Why and what is difficult is providing details of how much was spent in carrying out a project the people paid for with their hard earned money? The only reason for gatekeeping such detail is no other than corruption. Silence where you’re expected to defend your action in law means admission of the alleged crime. You people should act like normal human being for once. The rate at which this country is going I am even beginning to think the real corruption are not the leaders themselves but individuals like you who enable their corrupt actions. |
He should thereafter be sued for certificate forgery, misrepresentation, and compelled to refund, with damages, all monies he received by virtue of his illegal and unlawful period in ministerial office. I am Yoruba, and I have already begun to see ethnically biased comments. Let me tell you, ethnic bigots , this is not about the Igbos Hausas or others. This is an act that collectively threatens our progress as a nation. With the magnitude of audacity displayed by this man, it simply shows one thing: there are many more like him in the system , not only in the political environment but also in public and private institutions. These are systemic, yet critical and dangerous foundational problems drawing our dear country backward. You can imagine someone with a poor educational background and zero understanding of advanced strategic governance managing such a complex official position. What will he and can he deliver ? Government leadership is not something that just anyone without advanced education can handle. I realized this recently when I took personal time to study several governance reports and guidelines of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission within Nigeria’s electricity industry . a niche under Energy Law. I read the BEDC PIP and was amazed by how the Disco ingeniously created a solution to tackle poor energy consumption and low returns when comparing the cost of metering which clearly was hitting the BEDCs ATC&C losses really before 2019. How can a person with low educational background read to understand those stuff? Let alone being able to identify models that can adopt to solve problems in his jurisdiction. The civil organization should further get an order of the court to investigate all public officials in Nigeria to confirm their competence and educational qualifications and integrity. We don’t need mediocres taking charge of our schools, clinics , public and private institutions- they are part of the major cankerworms destroying our nation. |
IyaTola:Have been looking to buy an original one. All I have been seeing are fake. Please recommend a reliable online supplier of Pressure Cooker. |
Nigeria needs a strong-willed leader who won’t fold under pressure. Those seriously damaging Nigeria are not only politicians but also Pastors, Imams, Traditional Rulers, and many other group and subgroup leaders. Last Sunday in my area, a man held a ceremony to celebrate his career elevation. During the event, the Imam who presided over the ceremony mentioned that his recent car was a gift from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and he began to shower praises on the President. The question that came to my mind was this: Why would any sane religious leader praise a president under whose administration the economy has collapsed and insecurity remains increasingly high ? The environment of that ceremony was rife with poverty, yet the Imam felt that since he had received a car gift from the President, his followers, many of whom are suffering and hungry, should support the same President again. At that moment, I concluded that Nigeria cannot be fixed easily, because many of these group and subgroup leaders (pressure groups) are driven purely by personal gain. We need a leader who can cut off their excesses. I am certain that the Imam must have written several letters requesting that car gift from the President. If these are the kinds of letters the President receives requests for personal favors rather than appeals to fix roads, improve security, ensure stable electricity, or install community-based renewable energy systems, how will the country ever get better? In that same community I mentioned, we get electricity maybe three times in six months. Yet, what mattered most to the Imam was receiving a luxury car from the President. Meanwhile, his followers can barely afford to eat. Unemployment has crippled many of them, and for those who run small businesses, the constant fluctuation of commodity prices has ruined their plans. Still, the Imam chose to prioritize a luxury car over the welfare of his people. This is how many pressure group leaders behave across Nigeria. That is why the political and economic decay in the country keeps worsening by the day. |
God will see you through it all. |
This is not about Obi , Yoruba or Igbo or any ethnicity. This conversation is about Nigeria. I want anyone and everyone who will be commenting under this post to focus strictly on this. Because the details I give in this opinion is mind boggling as much as I am not good in writing I am able to finish this and I hope it drives the change I really wish for. And this change is awareness of the truth behind the Nigeria government and its political leaders. Only solution to the backwardness we face as a nation is awareness of this truth and it’s the lack of this one truth that’s standing on our way to excellent leadership in Nigeria. I hope that one day individual Nigerians in grass roots are able to access these truths that the problem we have is not because someone from our community is not in government. That excellence or lack of integrity is not state bound; that individuals who will act responsibly and hold himself accountable can come from any part of the country. I hope that one day Nigerians can hold a hand up to lead the nation not because of mere praises of blurred financial history but rather because of consistent demonstration of integrity and readiness to promote accountability , transparency and integrity. For decades, Nigerians have watched with growing frustration as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Department of State Services (DSS) appear to treat corruption with two sets of rules, one for the powerful and another for ordinary citizens. The latest allegations surrounding the former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, and former Kogi Governor, Yahaya Bello, expose this dangerous double standard in the starkest terms. Omoyele Sowore, activist and journalist, recently presented documents alleging that Wike siphoned funds to acquire multi-million-dollar properties in the United States and is the true owner of the much-discussed “Wike Hotel” in Port Harcourt. More troubling still are claims that he has confiscated citizens’ properties in Abuja only to resell them for dollars in cash. Yet, despite the gravity of these allegations, the EFCC and DSS, the very institutions created to safeguard our democracy against corruption, remain deafeningly silent. This is not an isolated case. Yahaya Bello, the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, has been accused of fraud running into ₦80.2 billion, reportedly used to finance personal expenses, including his children’s school fees in dollars. Ordinary Nigerians would expect that such revelations should trigger immediate prosecution. Instead, Bello walks freely among us, untouched by the law. Meanwhile, youths across the nation languish in poverty and unemployment, often hounded and harassed by these same agencies over internet fraud cases that pale in comparison to the billions allegedly looted by political elites. If we were to sum up the total proceeds from cybercrime over the years, it would barely scratch the surface of what these politicians are accused of embezzling. Even the Federal Government’s social investment programs have not escaped suspicion. Finance Minister Wale Edun recently announced the disbursement of ₦330 billion in cash transfers to the poor and vulnerable through NASSCO. Yet, no list of beneficiaries has been published, no verifiable method of distribution has been explained, and Nigerians are left with nothing but secrecy and unanswered questions. Again, where is the EFCC? Now, layer on more hypocrisy from the topmost seat in government. In September 2025, President Bola Tinubu declared that Nigeria had met its revenue target and no longer needed to borrow. But mere days later, the government sought a fresh $1.75 billion World Bank loan to plug funding gaps. The disconnect is glaring. If revenue targets were truly met, why is the administration still running to external creditors? And while we’re talking about public finances, how do we explain the fuel subsidy hardship, a regime change that pushed energy prices through the roof, battered family budgets, wrecked self sustaining businesses and strained every household’s survival plans? Where is the EFCC in auditing who benefited, whether subsidy payments were siphoned, or whether corrupt middlemen were involved? This is not simply about Wike, Bello, or even Tinubu. It’s about the very legitimacy of Nigeria’s institutions. When anti-graft bodies chase after the vulnerable but cower before the mighty, they betray their mission and deepen public cynicism. The painful truth is that Nigeria risks sliding deeper into a state of lawlessness, where anti-corruption bodies are perceived not as protectors of justice but as instruments of political intimidation. If these agencies cannot muster the courage to hold the high and mighty accountable, then they forfeit the moral and legal authority to chase down struggling youths accused of far lesser crimes. A nation where justice bends to power is not a democracy, it is a jungle. Until institutions like the EFCC and DSS rise above selective silence and prove that no Nigerian is above the law, we will remain trapped in a vicious cycle where corruption breeds poverty, and the hopes of millions of young people are crushed under the weight of elite impunity. That is the Nigeria we live in today. And it is a Nigeria that must change.

Back in the days I think it should be HNG 4.0 when late Nwonah was the lead instructor for C# I started coding and in fact built functioning webs apps. But I slowed down when I needed to proceed to law school. Don’t know a part of me always driving me back to tech. I feel I should find my way back to the C# lane. But my problem is would AI not replace these skills later ? I wish to have a close conversation with you. If you don’t mind kindly share your telegram ID with me. Will contact you. Thank you sir |

LagosOrigin:You ruined the entire write up with your last statement. It all shows many Nigerians don’t know the purpose of government and accountability. Simple focus for all reasonable Nigerian in this matter should be to see the end of justice in this case. The big question should be why would someone put under the care of public/ masses resources decide to take it all to himself? It shouldn’t be about Wike talking too much or offending anyone. It means you are indirectly in support of embezzlement. That is if Wike had been gentle and didn’t offend anyone he has the moral justification to steal what belongs to the masses. |
Trymeee:That’s how you know people that lack integrity. |
DMerciful:Your intuition is 100% correct. They are secretly working for Tinubu. |
Image123:1 milllion dollars worth of a house from a governor whose people live under 50$ per month? What nonsense are you even defending. ? |
Image123:That’s why I said you are not intelligent. Go and read what your constitution says and check whether Wike has not acted in contravention of the relevant provisions of the law. I don’t know what position you hold or whatsoever you’re benefiting from them but the day of reckoning is coming on all of you stealing the resources meant for the tax payers. |
