TOPIC: RESIST SATANIC TRICKS AGAINST YOUR SOUL

TEXT: Matthew 15:18 – 20

Key verse: 1 Corinthians 15:33 “Be not deceived: evil communication corrupts good manners”


Satan has enjoyed the beauty of heaven but was cast out due to sin. He does not want anyone to go there. He uses many tricks to defile people on the way to heaven and drag them to hell.
One of his tricks is prayerlessness: Watch out and resist every trick to take away prayer life from you. The pleasure of sleep, handsets, school duty, business activities, playing or watching games, engaging in long discussion are sure means to weaken your prayer life.
If while others are praying you refuse to join, you are at risk of the devil’s attacks. Another trick of Satan is to give you evil counsellors when you are faced with challenges in decision-making.
Satan brought Jonadab to Amnon when he felt a great temptation to sleep with his sister Tamar. Jonadab’s evil advice made Amnon commit incest with Tamar. Resist evil counsels against your relations, neighbours or friends.
Do not seek success without study or to make millions in an unjust way. Be careful. Evil association is another trick of Satan. Our key verse says “Be not deceived: evil communication corrupts good manners”.
Be careful what that person is discussing with you. If the discussion is corrupt, rebuke him or her so that you do not join him or her to go to hell fire.
Resist every thought Satan is bringing to you for fornication, adultery, to kill somebody, to revenge or to hate somebody. Don’t give in to it because it will damn your soul. Watch against disobedience to your parents.
The scripture says obedience to parent is with blessings. It will prolong your life. Never agree to live a disobedient life. Lying tongue, lips and mouth is a common trick of Satan. Pray purposefully that you will not tell lies.
Beware of fear and timidity. Watch against disobedience to God. Even Satan fears God. Never rebel against God. Cain disobeyed God and became a fugitive and vagabond.
