Police Discovers A Gun Making Factory In Ebonyi State

Gun Making Factory In Ebonyi State - According to ebonyi state police command, it had on Wednesday made it known to the general public that an illegal gun making factory was discovered and destroyed in ebonyi state.

 

Going further into the matter, they recovered a cache of 146 prohibited firearms and assorted ammunitions that were before then in the possession of unauthorised persons in the state.

 

According to the state Commissioner of Police, Titus Lamorde, he made it clear that the  arms were recovered following the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris’ directive to all police commands and other formations to clear out and stop the flow of illegal firearms and ammunition in circulation nationwide.

 

He said the Command immediately set up a task force that was headed by a Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Criminal Investigation Department, Oyeyemi Oyediran.

 

Lamorde said the police acted from a tip off and proceeded immediately and  destroyed the factory where guns were manufactured at Mgbo in Ohaukwu local government area of Ebonyi state.

 

“The Police acting on a tip off discovered an arms making factory in Mgbo and on getting there the person in charge of the place had already gone into thin air. But we recovered some of the locally made arms there,” he said.

The police commissioner equally commended those who voluntarily surrendered their arms and urged others still follow the same steps and submit all the arms and ammunition in their possession that is not legal.

Breaking News: Ebonyi SSG Resigns Ahead Of 2019 Election

ABAKALIKI-THE Secretary to Ebonyi State Government and Professor of Geophysics, Benard Ifeanyi Odoh, Monday, resigned his appointment from the cabinet of Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State.

The former SSG who was appointed on 29th May, 2015 explained that some operational policies and ideologies of the present administration was what led to his resignation.

According to him: “My appointment as the secretary to the State government is hereby resigned in good faith. I have handed over the status of the affair of Cabinet office to the most senior staff of cabinet office, barrister Ogbonnaya Otta in line with best practices of service.

“In conclusion, I am fully aware of the consequence of my action knowing full well that you will go after me, my immediate family, friends and those who served with me in line with your principles of “crushing and grinding” whoever that differ with your ideologies and aspirations as has been demonstrated in recent times, but be assured that the will of God would always prevail in all situation and circumstance. What is ahead of us is more important than what is behind us.”

In a well detailed letter, the former SSG further stated that the atmosphere within the cabinet of the present administration would not allow him and other members of EXCO to discharge their duties optimally.

“That I have reviewed my current stand in your administration and I feel strongly convinced that the convivial atmosphere required for peak performance of team members is lost with emphasis to the shenanigan orchestrated against me by overzealous EXCO members at Executive Council meeting of 28th March 2018. To remain in your administration in the present circumstances will amount to deceitfulness on my part as my capacity to contribute have plummeted because of the above stated.

“The way our administration has been run in the past two years has not offered conducive atmosphere for members of Executive Council and myself inclusive to sincerely air contrary views on matters in EXCO were instantly perceived as not supporting the administration. Because of this,

majority of council members resorted to praise singing and dramatization of council procedures in other to guarantee their daily bread. Subservience doesn’t equate genuine followership.

“In my opinion, this is the highest level of hypocrisy and the values I live doesn’t not allow me to operate in such deceptive atmosphere where people live opposite of what /who they are.”

Oge Kate - We all remember the Ebsu graduate who sells charcoal for a living.

Yesterday being Easter Sunday as most people had their fun, the charcoal girl was pictured having fun with her mother as she has always said that it was that business that her mum used in training her in school.

It didn't only end there they were seen taking loved up pictures which shows that they are really happy with what they are doing as that's their own means of employment and income.

Beta Me Better Africa Initiative is a human resource development Non profit organisation founded in 2016 at Accra,Ghana by Ogbodo Kenneth from Nigeria department of history and international relations, 400 level Ebonyi State University and Misael Buliani from Malawi as its co-founder. It is simply a platform for young Africans who are innovative, entrepreneurial and creative but lack platform.

BMBA is currently in eight African countries with eight National Representatives.

It’s grand patron is Professor S. C Ukpabi, and Honestly. Kennedy Ogba as its Nigerian Grand patron.

BMBA has seen that the world is going digital and has seen it as an opportunity to educate the youths on various means on how to earn a living online.

ABSU Lecturer Petitions International Criminal Court Over Herdsmen Killings And Boko Haram Action

Dr. Hagler Okorie, is an African scholar from Faculty of Law Abia State University. He has Ph.D in Law of Armed Conflict (otherwise known as International Humanitarian Law). He consults for some International and Donor Agencies working in armed conflict zones across Africa. He is the author of about 50 articles and books on Law of Armed Conflict especially on the conflict in the Northeast Nigeria and the Lake Chad Basin.
Currently, according, to Dr. Hagler Okorie he said he has has petitioned the International Criminal Court(ICC) at The Hague to indict the Presidency and other mentioned top military hierarchy over War Crime Offences, Genocide and Crimes Against Humanity committed in the Northeast by Nigerian Forces and Book Haram sect. Again, he has called on ICC to open investigation on the Fulani Herdsmen massacre in Enugu, Benue, Taraba, kogi etc. He accused the Presidency of complicity for failure to urgently act in defense and protection of the innocent and defenceless

Black Monday In EBSU As A Final Year Female Student Dies Mysteriously

It is a very sorrowful Monday to the students of Ebonyi State University as they lost a female final year student to the cold hands of death

Waking up this morning, many students were uploading her picture with the tag RIP, the lady in question is Doris a final year student of sociology and anthropology Ebonyi state university.

Reports we gathered has it that she slept last night and never woke up. Before her death she stayed at Emmanuel Lodge hostel Ishieke, ebonyi state.

The way youths of nowadays die is becoming alarming.

To the family and friends of the deceased the entire EBSU community are grieving with you. And we pray that she rest in peace...
