RomanceProcrastination: Do you put it off for later? by Boss1914(op):
PROCRASTINATION: DO YOU PUT IT YOU OFF TILL LATER?

You would likely look at at the topic above and say, "Nice topic, I'll read it later." Don't! You know want would happen if you do? Chances are that you will not read it later. Ironically, you would be procrastinating reading and article about procrastination. funny right? why don't you time yourself, you'll be done in about 6 minutes or less.

What is Procrastination.
Procrastination has been defined as the act of delaying or deferring an action to a later time. If you put off what you could or should do now, then you procrastinate. In other words, if you put off for tommorow what you can do now, today, you're procrastinating.
Procrastination has been described as "the thief of time". A procrastinator delays action when it is action that is needed.

A teacher asks a student for his assignment. An employee delays on a report. A chore is not done. The usual responses are, "I was too busy", "I forgot " or " I didn't have time". The reality is, few of us like to do reports or do assignments or do chores when there are more enjoyable things to do. So we delay doing it, putting it off.

If we can and should take action now, and delaying needed action could cause more problems later, delaying is PROCRASTINATION. For example having an idea for an article and delaying in putting in down in writing can lead to forgetfulness. washing dishes after they have sat for sometime makes it harder to scrub. postponing carrying out maintenance on a car, generator or building can result in costly repairs later.

ARE THERE CONSEQUENCES?
Putting off or postponing what ought to have Been done now would only pile up pressure on you, making you feel anxiety. As these feelings build, your creativity may be affected.

let's see an example: You have an exam due in 3weeks. However you keep delaying study and Preparation till a day before. Now you are under pressure, you sit down to read and prepare but nothing is sticking. in the end, you flop your exams, you perform badly. Perhaps if you had studied way ahead, you could have gotten more time to understand and ace the exam.

Another consequence that comes from procrastinating is the inability to relax when we have free time. why? because we have a nagging feeling that we something undone waiting for us.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?
1. Make a list.
Take a few minutes to prepare a list of your activities for the day. Put less enjoyable tasks before enjoyable ones.
2. Tell Time.
If you are always running late, as in, literally running because You're late, learn to tell time. That is, Make an assessment of how long you'll need to do a task. Always allow time in between tasks and appointment.
3. Delegate.
We do not always have to do everything ourselves. Delegate certain tasks.
4. Breakdown big Tasks.
Sometimes we don't start a new project/task because of its size. Why don't you slice the larger tasks into smaller ones?. As we complete the smaller tasks, we will see progress and be encouraged to continue.
5. Plan for Interruptions.
Allow room for unplanned developments. when these arises, you can take care of it, knowing that you allowed some time for it.
6. Reward.
Take short breaks. If you work in an office, pause, stretch, and reflect. if you work out doors get some refreshment. Reward yourself for your work.

Look at you! you've completed this article. you are on your way to recovery. You are doing well.

FamilyCONTROL YOUR TEMPER. by Boss1914(op): 2:03pm On May 23, 2021
HOW CAN I CONTROL MY TEMPER? 5 WAYS THAT CAN HELP..

On a quiet evening of April 16 1968, 4 young boys who were playing in the premises of 3 storey apartment building were warned by a night shift worker who needed sleep to stop their noise making. They ignored him and continued. This made him angry, so angry that he came downstairs with a gun, shooting and killing one of the boys.

A young lady would never forget the time she lost her temper. It happened on her wedding day. As she left the reception with her husband, and argument ensued. The argument led to a fight, and out of annoyance she ran her husband over with a car, killing him instantly.

Likely, you have not lost your temper to the extent of killing anyone and obviously you want to avoid such, but can you say you have control over your temper? Have you screamed abusive words at a sibling, spouse, friend or colleague and regretted your actions later? Are you known as one who is "hot tempered" and "doesn't tolerate rubbish"? Are you one is quick to flare up even with minor things? If you answer yes to any of these questions, you need to this Article!

WHY SHOULD YOU CONTROL YOUR TEMPER?
We live in a high speed age that is filled with tension and pressure that make people edgy. Things like a Traffic jam, someone bumping into your car from behind, someone taking so long on the phone, an overcrowded banking hall or store can irritate you, provoking anger.
However, you should Control your temper. why?
1. IT HURTS YOUR REPUTATION.
Outbursts can make you look foolish and out of control.
2. PEOPLE WILL AVOID YOU.
Would you want to spend time or be friends with someone who loses Control of his temper? You wouldn't!. Unbridled temper would make you lose your dignity and the respect of those around you.

In simpler terms. Displaying a bad Temper isn't attractive!

YOU CAN CONTROL YOUR TEMPER!
Here are 5 ways.
1. MAKE A GOAL
Instead of saying: "That's just the way I am", Strive to change and improve. Choose a specific period, during that period keep a record of your progress. Each time you lose your temper write down what happened, how you reacted , and how you could have reacted better and why. make it your goal to use a better reaction when next you are provoked.
2. WAIT BEFORE REACTING
When someone or something angers you do not say the first thing that comes to your mind, Wait!. why? you could say things you may regret later.
3.KNOW THE FULL STORY
In other words, expand your view. sometimes we get angry because we see only one aspect, the aspect that affects us. Try to consider the other side of the story. Who knows, there might be an explanation that can help us show little understanding of the situation.
4.WALK AWAY.
If necessary walk away. sometimes it's best to leave a volatile situation. waking away most times, saves a lot of trouble.
5.LEARN TO LET GO
There is nothing wrong In getting angry, the question however is: What happens next?.
why not try to overlook things, and let go. If you allow allow others to provoke you, it gives them power over you.

REMEMBER; IF YOU DO NOT CONTROL YOUR TEMPER, YOU WILL BE LETTING YOUR TEMPER CONTROL YOU.
