Did the students who attended Jakande school get good education? Yes.
Some of those students are now in their mid 50s and 60s.

If Jakande was in charge for 8 years, I am sure he would have upgraded the schools.

Average civil servants could afford to buy an apartment in his estates for between N4000 and N6000.

Unfortunately you will need a minimum of N60 million in order to buy an apartment in the estates built by our current leader.

His estates were affordable because he dealt directly with the manufacturers of building materials

Jakande was even the first to introduce and implement the Lagos public transport system (LSTC). He brought the idea of metro line and light rail system.
The Jakande schools that you described as ''pig barns'' have produced thousands and millions of professors, professionals, medical doctors, lawyers and other successful people who otherwise would not have been able to have formal education in life.
How did Jakande perform poorly in security at a time when people could even afford to sleep outside in front of their houses whenever there was too much heat?
And what about the hospitals built by Jakande?
What about the roads?
What about the housing estates?
The polytechnics and University?

You cannot have a ''modern state'' without these things. Jakande did most of them, and they were affordable for the people to acquire.

LIRS (Lagos Internal Revenue Service) was not created by Tinubu). It is a statutory body that existed long before Tinubu became governor in 1999.

The Jakande schools had no fences (ungated), windows or doors therefore served as hangouts for criminals and produced many touts in Lagos

However, most of his projects were ill conceived and poorly executed. For example, the Jakande schools were built like pig barns and were not fit for purpose. He also performed badly in the area of sanitation and security. As kids we usually encountered dead bodies along the streets of Lagos on our way to school

By contrast, the Tinubu administration introduced structural and dynamic changes by strengthening/establishing several key agencies like the LASTMA, LAWMA, BRT, LIRS, LAMATA, KAI, RRS, LASEPA and LASAMBUS. These reforms fundamentally changed the way Lagos approached transportation, environmental management, revenue administration, law enforcement, security, and urban governance. Tinubu invariably laid the master plan for the development of the modern Lagos and therefore, can be rightly credited for building a new Lagos

Overall, Jakande’s achievements dwarfs that of Tinubu as a Lagos state governor

Hamas brought a war of destruction upon the very Palestinians they claimed to be fighting for, 70,000 dead and several others wounded and permanently maimed they have finally ( hopefully I must add) realised this was a losing battle from the onset.

Sometimes going really hard on people with this sort of mentality is the best way forward, not whatever it is that our Nigerian government are doing with bandits and terrorists in Nigeria. They are not stating the truth but peddling disinformation and trying to rewrite the history of how Oshodi was modernised. The oshodi market was a cash cow for the Oshodi families who even resisted attempts by the military government to reform the market. Therefore, it took many years of negotiations and horse trading for the Tinubu administration to finally reach an agreement with the different stakeholders

It is stupidity to believe the account of an outsider when most of the actors that were involved in the sanitation of Oshodi are still alive. If you want a true account of what happened, reach out to some elders in the Oshodi family

In the video, he compares a rowdy and unkempt Oshodi under Tinubu, to an organized Oshodi just 1 year after Fashola took over as Governor.

So many of us who lived in Lagos when Tinubu was the State governor have first-hand witness of his reign.

I have a first hand account from many stakeholders and my friend Ademola Oshodi how the Tinubu administration compensated them with landed properties, jobs and skill acquisition. Tinubu literally laid the solid foundations that Fashola built upon

Ademola Oshodi is now a senior special adviser to the president and anyone in doubt can reach out to him to corroborate what I stated

Now, In my humble opinion and i am entitled to one, the Tinubu administration has instituted bold reforms (with unintended consequences) that will take a bit of time to trickle down to the micro level.

However, I do partially agree with suggestions that this administration should also cut the exorbitant cost of governance but then again there are constitutional constraints to navigate here. Insecurity is another complex issue that predates this administration and I strongly believe that the proposed local/state policing will go along way in addressing this problem

Overall, it is premature to conclude that the Tinubu administration has failed. The government inherited substantial economic, fiscal, and security challenges, many of which are deeply entrenched. While legitimate criticism is necessary in any democracy, a fair assessment should recognise both the difficulties inherited and the ongoing efforts to address them. The administration remains a work in progress, and its ultimate success or failure should be judged on the long-term outcomes of its policies rather than their immediate effects alone.
