@walcolm, My tablet does NOT take a simcard. Whatsapp still installs and functions well on it. Its just that I can't have whatsapp installed on my phone as well .. regardless of simcard. That is because Whatsapp wont work on two devices with the same phone number. If you have a simcard in the tablet as well as in the phone you will have two simcards and two phone numbers. |

@Frontwave, No. Don't need a SIMcard. however you won't be able to use both your phone and tablet. once installed on tablet you will need to remove whatsapp from your phone. You can't have whatsapp working on two devices registered to the same number. |

Thank you cj1080.  I followed your instructions for copying the Whatsapp apk from my phone to my tablet. Worked flawlessly. Mine is a Bauhn AMID-971R running Android 4.0.3 |
