Thanks alot Elaric. I actually thought of IDSL but I was thinking Computer Science guys would have a better stake in that subsidiary. As for NPDC, I also thought science researchers would have that too. I'll dig more on that NPDC. Thanks, you have been of great help.
My appreciation.

Please which of science disciplines will be mostly needed at NPDC,all of us know that their main duty is exploration and production, thanks

Whatever happens, our worry should be that any dimension that the government will decide to take...let it favour us....this is not fair at all, something that started 3 years ago is now hanging on a balance but on the contrary why would they see the need to recruit when they replace all available vacancies with their relations........

I have been thinking since the announcement of the results of the presidential election polls held last Saturday, what prolonged this recruitment process like this?.......who do we blame if the incoming government cancels the whole thing?something that started 2012...2013 passed nothing was done.......2014 passed and nothing was done only to be invited for aptitude test that should have been done earlier........even if they rush the whole thing and induct us before may 29,the incoming government might still see it as a ploy to overburden them and can retrench people......I don't just understand this country at all, what we started with much devotion and suffering is now going to end like a child's play.....let's just pray that God puts his hands into this issue and place us well according to his wish.

Talking about "counting your chickens before they are hatched," what do you expect? Losing the job cos of pregnancy that can wait till next year or terminating it cos of NNPC? Unlike chickens, this takes 9months to "hatch." Either I plan now or I lose out.
Are you married?if yes, will you tell your husband to wait for a recruitment process that you don't know the actual date it will end, which one do you prefer......your marriage or NNPC?,please think well before you lose both.

Clipped from blog wrt 2010 recruitment:

GT’s (2,690).
2,690 GT prospects were invited for interviews

The underlisted are simply realistic projections of number of invitees for the GT interviews per state& region.

This projection does not cover for Ops, Experienced hires and Contractors, as it seems that the competitiveness amongst GT prospects is the highest, when compared to other categories.

This exercise is simply to manage expectations of prospective NNPC GT employees, and show why you must be grateful to God if finally selected.

South West (750) --- Ogun(175), Ondo(135), Osun(120), Ekiti(115), Oyo(105), Lagos(100)

South South(650)--- Delta(165), Edo(125), Rivers(125), Cross River(100), Akw-Ibom(80), Bayelsa (55)

South East(600)--- Imo(150), Anambra(135), Enugu(120), Abia(115), Ebonyi(80)

North Central(340)— Kwara(70), Kogi(70), Plateau(70), Benue(40), Nassarawa(35), Niger(30), FCT(25)

North West (200)— Kaduna(45), Kano(40), Sokoto(35), Katsina(30), Kebbi(20), Jigawa(15), Zamfara(15)

North East (150)- Borno(35), Taraba(30), Adamawa(30), Bauchi(30), Gombe(15), Yobe(15).

No-thanks and Thanks to Federal Character, equal number of candidates would be selected from each states, tentatively pegged at 10.

To be selected, you must meet at least two basic criteria.
(1) You must have the highest average score from your Local Government area in your state, no room for second best, except for special cases.
This implies that for Candidates A & B from Lagos state. Candidate A from Lagos state with a score of 70% can be picked, and Candidate B from Lagos state with a score of 80% is not picked, If Candidate B fails to meet the above criterion.

(2) You must have the best “10” or whatever no. to be selected highest average score from the bests of each local govt. from your state.

Ties in average score will be broken to favour the female gender i.e if a female candidate score is the same with a male candidate.
Thanks for the information, for those interested in the pay,is just 250k per month, though the person works with the account section but I think it should be the basic, after the on going promotion exam/interview,their pay will rise to 300k and other allowance that I can't mention here because he didn't give me the exact figures, the person that said that they pay 2.5m every January for housing/security is very correct.,I also believe this recruitment will end this year because after this promotion exercise there will be no more trainees/New intakes since the last people they recruited in the year 2012,will move to other ranks

Believe me the fact that he's got the sms shows he's not the same with people without. But then again that's relative. The glass is either half full or half empty. it all depends on how you look at it bruv
Okay.......I am very sorry if that statement didn't go down well with you......let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best....sleep tight

Boygeorge97,

This is the post you are referring to ^^. As you can see, I was admitting that I didn't know he combined the 2 positions but that is not what your friend was seeking to correct (and thereby exposing his own folly and rank ignorance).

Also, your feelings are very wrong (I will stress the 'very'). I have been giving reactionary responses to ONLY those who want to supplant facts with fiction and are hiding behind conjectures, bible verses and shallow quotes while at it.

BTW, I didn't know about Bernard Otti via the invitation letters (for the exams) as I didn't even get it. I am very close to one of his Nephews plus that name became a household one following the Nuhu Ribadu-Led committee probe of the NNPC.

I wish you well too.
Okay, abeg no vex again,if Pcl in defence of their comments on sending messages in batches decides to invite more people I don't think anyone here can block the messages,if on the contrary they didn't send again.........then no wahala, people will continue to live happily ever, because life doesn't centre on one place..........finally,please allow people to sort themselves out the way they want......if a fellow feels happy just by mere hearing that they will send messages to more candidates please don't block the happiness even when you think/know that is not possible again........with this....I think we should change topic.....just for the good of this thread.

http://www.use-in-a-sentence.com/english-words/academic-words-english/former.htm

http://forum.thefreedictionary.com/postst29484_She-is---was-a-former-teacher-.aspx

You put a quote on the supposed sentence but ended up not quoting it verbatim. In any case, this is the sentence: "In fact, the current DMD Bernard Otti, was a former GED of that directorate"

I know your puny brain will overheat trying to make something of the links I provided above so I will try to help (as onerous a task as can be). The phrase 'was a former' (as it pertains to humans) is employed in situations where the person in question is either dead or doing something else after retiring from a previous position as should be indicated in the sentence. So in the sentence above, I used the word 'Current' to indicate his present position and the phrase 'was a former' to indicate what he WAS before taking on the DMD role (his present position).

Feel free to accept or disregard this piece of advice:
1.Get a refund of your tuition from all your English teachers. They bilked you seriously.

2.Grow a pair and be ballsy enough to quote my posts instead of this wanton show of pusillanimity.

3. Don't be a bucolic simpleton. I am not the reason you didn't get a text from PCL. (Oops! I said it)

4. If you are as busy and employed as you claim, leave those of us that are not, to visit NL as often as possible.

Side note: I have learnt to take statements like "I am employed, I don't need this job" with a pinch of salt because most people who aver such, are usually insecure and delusional so they try to use their mouths to make up for what life hasn't given to them.

Personally, I wager you are underemployed but if it helps you sleep at night, then you are the MD of SPDC. grin

Young man,in as much as I don't want to join issue with you,I must advise to be humble and accept where you go wrong,I have been watching this thread silently and must tell you that you made a mistake when you addressed Mr.Bernard.O.N.Otti as the former GED of F&A Directorate at Nnpc, when in actual sense he remains the GED even as I am talking to you, though I can't remember the page now but I heard you saying
you have seen where he was addressed as Deputy GMD(I guess you saw that on our invitation letters for the aptitude test),immediately you said I started seeing you differently, but with the way you are attacking people here especially persons without either of the SMS makes me feel you are thinking that some other persons are not important and once you have your way,any other person can get lost, but I want you to know that until you receive a mail telling you the details of your interview you are still the same with people without Sms,even when you get it,it doesn't confer automatic placement, please always read your messages like two or even three times before you send, thanks a lot, wish you well.

No matter their plan,we are waiting, some might even get better opportunities before they Finnish this their long recruitment,I have even forgotten the whole thing if not that they sent the message for aptitude test last year, let's refrain from using abusive words on each other,if you have gotten a message to progress to the next stage..congratulations,if you are yet to get and believe you will still get.....I wish you well, the end point should be "who finally got the job"
