You are talking from the point of view of a Nigerian who has never left Nigeria. This is the kind of mindset that gets Nigerians into trouble the momment they step their foot into western countries.

In your western world, government officials that are corrupt, using their office to manipulate government policies go to jail or get sanctioned when they are found guilty

1. Just play out a scenario, you engage a security man to protect against crime. Your own security gave key to offender, thereby penetrated....I believe you will sanction the two. Not hearing about the sanction of the individuals or agencies that allowed that to play out is a signal that all the demolition might just be a joke.

But after the demolitions in both Abuja and Kaduna, none of it has gotten to beauty and coordination even in all these world class cities.

My point is not even against development and rule of law but even when they started building Dubai, some structures and buildings were sacrificed (both legal and illegal) but their govt were so much responsible that they didn't make the citizens homeless in the process

I don't want this to sound like an argument, rather, an opinion.

Two wrongs is when one person is wrong and the other was trying to right the wrong in a wrong or inappropriate way...ideal would have been appropriate approach and soft landing provision for affected innocent citizens

The owner in this case may even be a wolf crier but consider the direct and indirect innocent victims, tenants etc.... Nigeria is tensed for now. Don't doubt me!

Another concern is, if you need to cleanse a system, it must be clinical...sanctions should visit every quarters involved in the allotment, approvals and supervision as may concern the handling agencies.

With this, we will go home and sleep, eyes closed that new nigeria has arrived

Lagos just realised there are land grabbers in Festac.. If not for the systemic hatred against Igbos after the election.. Remember after the election, Lagos state house of assembly said they would pass law that will help them reclaim what belong to the true people of Lagos.. See the way buildings are going with governmental power without sanctioning or retiring the process that approve the structures in the first place... Just a sad for Igbos..

Well, I don't dwell into tribal issues, neither the motive of my comment, I just believe, as a concerned citizen government and government should be for all and in interest of all, regardless of race or tribe....it may have affected Yorubas too and I've not read it anywhere that a set of Yoruba people were schemed out of the exercise.

That mentioned, my concern is, the government needs to find a competent and fair way of doing this, such that innocent people will not share from the misfortune of some terrible people in the system

If it were to happen under El-Rifai government in Kaduna state, the state government will demolish the building and the person who owned would pay for the demolition.

Yeah, I understand that state / national development shouldn't be subjected to emotions, whatsoever but the reality is, those structures did not spring up within a wink....some government representatives approved and allowed those structures to be (that's an area to note)

Meanwhile, knife has done what he can do best, what I expected is, government should take charge, review and see the way they can achieve their dream without making the victims and offenders lose outrightly....

I am of the opinion that a thorough welfare arrangement that comes with fairness can be employed and they will still achieve their dream of working with the initial structural plan of almighty Lagos state.

Remember, Abuja's case or Kaduna you referred to is nowhere in comparison to Paris nor Dubai
