Exposure is important. Important to business, vocation, profession and every kind of relationship under the sun.

How can you possibly be exposed to the best tools for a job when your reach or bias is limited. To the carpenter his hammer is king. Yes, it may serve his expertise in knocking sheds together. But if he is not exposed to a world of power tools he just cannot build that warehouse.

This was the undoing of the Buhari administration and to a lesser extent the Jonathan regime before it. And we said it then. That though loyalty had a place in government but if you have the resources and cancer to go with it, you will move beyond the loyalty of your family doctor to go find a specialist of any bias or die, simple.

What makes for the success of rookie or juvenile presidents in other climes is rock solid institutions where eggheads of ALL KINDS are the foundations.

Nigeria is not a country of institutions. Leadership is the institution in this quasi feudal state so it is critical that whoever is selected as leader/king is ALL WISE, ALL KNOWING and ALL EXPOSED/EXPERIENCED.

Miss that ideal and the country is shrunk to a village sized enclave.

And because man makes his environment if a President engages the majority of his tools from the fishes of the sea....hmmm, in time all of us will begin to swim.
