If you haven't used up your email quota, and you are able to send mail, then you should check your MX records for inconsistencies with your providers required records. Incorrect MX records is equivalent to incorrect mailing address on a post office mail. Mails will get lost.

You can use a free service like mxtoolbox.com.

Tomholly... You're not giving nearly enough information to enable anybody assist you properly without unnecessarily wasting time asking questions back and forth.

If you'd state the exact nature if the problem, what you did last before the error started and maybe a link to the installation...

Did you successfully register with 1and1?
