I said, "Do you know the amount of hard work this man has put into this business that we all talk about today?" We idolize luck a lot in this part of the world.

At some point, you will feel like throwing in the towel. Sometime last year, me and my team had decided to set up excellent POS franchise centers in several locations in Lagos and other major cities in Nigeria.

We began Cost analysis and got some choice locations in Lagos to begin with. One of my of colleagues who had a friend in One of the major commercial Banks in Abuja decided to speak to his friend to help us facilitate POS machines for our new found business, we spoke about commissions and felt it was safer and profitable for us to work with.

Immediately we paid for the machines and after a few days the machines were ready.
We got someone in Abuja's to help us transport to Lagos through a courier company. we made payments and were expecting to start operation from the third day of payment for the delivery of the item, we had recruited our POS merchants, made ID's for them, our exquisite booths were already on ground.

Our only Crime was to use this company to transport the items.The second day after our payment,we were in their office as there was no communication at all, to find out if our items had arrived. Their staff mentioned that the items were in transit, collected our contacts and promised to reach out to us once the items arrived.

Day 3 we didn't bother calling since he had promised to call we didn't hear a word.

Day 4 we called about three times and he didn't pick,nor acknowledge receipt of the calls or returned them.

We finally got him in the evening at this time we were already angry we were like "Oga is this how you guys operate here, just POS machine from Abuja to Lagos is taking forever" and he replied and said you think say na only una package we dey send Oga make una no disturb me if the package come I go call una.

In your mind,am sure you would try to imagine the frustration at this time, the anger, the delay it is already causing our business. You know when you want to start a new business your emotions are always at lintel level.

Obviously it was already late in the evening when we had that conversation so we couldn't go to their office that evening hence we waited till the next day which happened to be Friday.

As early as 9am we were in their office, the manager told us to sit down that he had other issues to attend to, we were sitting for almost 2 hours with no one saying anything, my friend "Para" then the manager came and asked us some questions about our shipment we told him, and he started making calls,then he said the items were supposed to come today but that the bus broke down on the way that they had requested another bus to move the items from the damaged bus, this was already about 12 noon, the same bus is still expected to drop off in some nearby states before coming to Lagos that hopefully tomorrow or latest Sunday the items would be in Lagos.

Sun what??we retorted!! This is absolutely rubbish, how do you explain that we sent items over 5 days ago you are telling us that this items are just leaving for Lagos this is rubbish!! No communication from your company at all, your staff very rude!!

To cut the long story short we had to go back and wait for our items.To our greatest shock,Could you believe the machines came in on Saturday evening no one called us? We thought that since they didn't call maybe it will come on sunday, na the manager talk this one na we said to ourselves.

On Sunday we waited for call,no call, then in the evening ,my colleague called the manager to find out if the items had arrived, he exclaimed bros no vex, no vex, the items don come since on Saturday I forget to tell una.

Wow just wow!! You forgot?My friend said to him!No wahala na our fault. He apologized

Monday we got to their office and got our items and business started the next day

Fast forward to later in year we stopped the business, because of so much interference from agebros and all this disguised government agencies always coming to collect money. lol story for another day.

That experience with that courier company however never left me, early this year my friend called me up to inform me about his plans to start a logistics business and tasked me, to help out with research.
I swang to work,conducted an extensive usability research, market analysis and proposal. Surprisingly In the course of my research it appeared that my experience with the courier company was not peculiar to me and that company, based on insight gathered from customers reviews I gave my recommendations for his business.
Due to unforseen circumstances he could not go ahead with the business. As at the time I did the research, I was operating a small delivery company, with incessant issues with riders and of course the humongous amount you have to spend renewing papers every six month, I decided to pivot my company.
I said to myself, I was a customer with that courier company, how can I make their services better? I already had the research I did for my friend in my possession, I wrote some big wigs in the industry for collaborations and partnership at the most discounted rate possible.
