Thomas Matthew Crooks (September 20, 2003 – July 13, 2024) was an American whose attempted assassination of Donald Trump, the former President of the United States and Republican Party nominee for the 2024 presidential election, shocked the nation on July 13, 2024. Here is a detailed biography of his life and the events surrounding the tragic incident.

Early Life and Education
Thomas Matthew Crooks was born on September 20, 2003, in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. Raised in a middle to upper-middle-class neighborhood, he was the son of two licensed social workers. Crooks attended Bethel Park High School, where he was known as an above-average student. Despite his academic achievements, he experienced bullying for his quiet demeanor and occasional unconventional attire, such as camouflage hunting outfits.

Crooks had diverse interests, including playing chess, video games, and learning to code. His academic prowess was recognized when he received a $500 "star award" from the National Math and Science Initiative. Although he attempted to join his high school's rifle team, he did not make the cut due to challenges with marksmanship during tryouts.

After graduating from high school in 2022, Crooks pursued further education at the Community College of Allegheny County, where he earned an associate degree in engineering science. Just two months before the tragic events of July 13, 2024, he completed his studies and began working as a dietary aide at a local nursing home.

Attempted Assassination of Donald Trump 2024
On July 13, 2024, during a political rally near Butler, Pennsylvania, Thomas Matthew Crooks carried out a shocking act of violence. Armed with a rifle, he positioned himself on a nearby rooftop and fired at Donald Trump while the former President was delivering a speech. The gunfire injured Trump and two attendees, resulting in the death of 50-year-old Corey Comperatore and critical injuries to two others.

Crooks' actions prompted an immediate response from the Secret Service Counter Assault Team, who swiftly neutralized him. The FBI launched an investigation into the incident to determine Crooks' motives, which remained unclear in the immediate aftermath.

Thomas Matthew Crooks was a registered Republican, having activated his voter registration shortly after turning 18 in September 2021. Despite his political affiliation, he had only participated in voting during the 2022 midterm elections prior to the events of July 13, 2024.

The preserved body of an American mountaineer — who disappeared 22 years ago while scaling a snowy peak in Peru.

William Stampfl, a US mountain climber, went missing 22 years ago after an avalanche on Mount Huascaran in Huaraz, Peru. Recently, his body was found by American climbers Ryan Cooper and Wesley Waren on June 27.
William Stampfl, aged 58 at the time of his disappearance, was among three climbers who perished in the avalanche on June 24, 2002, along with his friends Steve Erskine and Matthew Richardson. While Erskine's body was recovered earlier, Stampfl's remained undiscovered until now. Peruvian authorities found the body of an American who died 22 years ago while attempting to climb Peru's highest mountain, police said Tuesday.

Following extensive online research, authorities located William Stampfl's son, Joseph, and informed him of the discovery on June 29, 2024. They also contacted Stampfl's daughter, Jennifer, and his widow, Janet, sharing photos of Stampfl's identification and personal belongings found with him.

Janet expressed her disbelief and gratitude, saying she had never expected her husband's body to be found. She described it as an answer to many prayers from people who cared about him deeply. Janet remembered her husband fondly, noting his passion for mountain climbing.

Delta State University (DELSU) Cut-Off Marks for 2024/2025
A cut-off mark is the minimum score you need to qualify for admission consideration into a specific program at a university. There are typically two types of cut-off marks to consider at DELSU:

> JAMB Cut-Off Mark: This is the minimum UTME score set by DELSU for all courses.

> Departmental Cut-Off Mark: This is the minimum score set by each individual department within DELSU for their specific programs. Departmental cut-off marks are usually higher than the JAMB cut-off mark.

DELSU Cut-Off Marks for 2024/2025
The official JAMB cut-off mark for DELSU for the 2024/2025 academic session is 140. This means you need to score at least 140 in your UTME to be eligible to apply for admission.

However, keep in mind that the departmental cut-off marks will vary depending on the program. Unfortunately, the official departmental cut-off marks for 2024/2025 haven't been released yet. But, we can refer to the previous year (2023/2024) as a guide.

Here's a range for departmental cut-off marks (UTME scores) from the previous year:

• Mostly between 40 and 50 for courses in the Faculty of Agriculture, Arts, Education (except Nursing Science), and Social Sciences.

• Significantly higher (around 65-70) for courses in the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and some Science courses (e.g., Computer Science, Medical Laboratory Science).

Important Note: These are just a general range based on the previous year. The actual cut-off marks for 2024/2025 may be higher or lower.

Raising pigs can be a good way to earn money in Nigeria, but it's important to know how to figure out if you're making a profit. Whether you're just starting or have been farming for a while, understanding the money side of things can help you run your farm better and make more money.

Figuring out how much money you're making from pig farming is important for your business. With these tips, you can make sure your pig farming business is successful and makes a good profit.

The first thing to do is figure out how much it costs to raise pigs. There are two main types of costs:

1. Fixed Costs: These are things you have to pay no matter how many pigs you have. For example, rent for your farm, insurance, and buying equipment.

2. Variable Costs: These change based on how many pigs you're raising and what's happening in the market. This includes things like food for the pigs, medicine, and paying workers.

How To Calculate Revenue From Pig Farming Business

Revenue is the money you make from selling your pigs. Here's how to figure it out:

• Price per Pig: Decide how much you can sell each pig for. This can change depending on how many pigs are being sold and what people are willing to pay.

• Number of Pigs Sold: Multiply the price per pig by how many pigs you sell in a certain time period, like a month or a year.

Finding Your Profit From Pig Farming Business

Once you know how much money you're making and how much you're spending, finding out your profit is easy:

Pigs are famous for having lots of babies, which is important for farming and food production. Normally, a grown-up sow can have between 8 and 12 piglets at once. But it can be more or less, depending on the kind of pig, their genes, how healthy they are, and how well farmers take care of them. Farmers work hard to pick the right pigs and take good care of them to have lots of healthy piglets for farms.

Knowing how many baby pigs a grown-up pig can have is important for you and anyone interested in pig farming.

How Many Babies (Piglets) Can A Pig Have?
Female pigs, called sows, become adults and can have babies when they are about 5 to 8 months old, depending on their breed and how fast they grow. Once they are ready, sows can get pregnant and give birth to litters of piglets.

The number of piglets born at once can vary for different reasons:

• Some types of pigs have more babies in each litter than others. Each breed has its own typical number of piglets.

• The parents genes play a big part in how many piglets are born. Farmers pick parents with good genes for having lots of babies.

• Giving pigs good food and keeping them healthy is very important for having big litters. Healthy sows that get enough to eat tend to have more babies.

Starting a pig farming business means deciding how many pigs to begin with. This choice is a very important step because it affects your costs, workload, and potential profits. Deciding how many pigs to start with can determine how far you go, and how to calculate expenses and profits.

Here are some important things to think about:

• Think about how much land you have for the pigs. Each pig needs space, so more pigs need more space.

• Consider what you have, like food storage, housing, and tools. These things are important for keeping the pigs healthy.

• Figure out how much money you have to start. You need money to buy pigs, build pens, and buy food and medicine for the pigs.

• Make a budget. Starting with too many pigs can cost a lot of money. You need to plan for costs every month.

• Find out if people want pork where you live. This helps you decide how many pigs to start with.

• Set goals. Start with a number of pigs you can handle. You can always get more later if you do well.

• Think about how much work you can do. Taking care of more pigs is more work.

The 140 minimum JAMB score doesn't apply here o. Before anything ensure you have at least, 200+. Or else after the admission you'll be asked to get to another course such as physiology, anatomy, etc.

In Nigeria, some polytechnics and colleges now offer Nursing courses approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN). These courses lead to National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) qualifications.

Basic Requirements For Nursing Programs In Nigeria Polytechnics and Colleges

Here are the main details about these nursing programs:

For Students:
- The program lasts four years to earn ND/HND Nursing degrees.

- To qualify, students need 5 O’ Level credits in subjects like English, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.

- Graduates must pass professional exams from the NMCN to become registered nurses. They can specialize in Midwifery or Public Health Nursing.

For Polytechnics and Colleges:
- These institutions must operate as Colleges of Nursing and have a legal basis and a Governing Board.

- Departments include Nursing, Midwifery, Public Health, and Basic Sciences, each with qualified teachers.

Despite limited responses, a few polytechnics and colleges in Nigeria have started offering Nursing programs. Below is a list of some institutions currently offering Nursing:

1. Nigerian Army College of Nursing, Yaba, Lagos State
This college, managed by the Nigerian Army, offers certificates in Nursing Science at both National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) levels. It is now affiliated with the University of Lagos for BSc in Nursing degrees.

Admission to the Nigerian Army College of Nursing is open not only to military and paramilitary personnel but also to civilians who meet the admission criteria.

2. College of Nursing and Midwifery, Katsina, Katsina State
Also known as Kasimu Kofar Bai School of Nursing Katsina, this college offers basic Nursing courses like other nursing schools. Additionally, it provides National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Nursing, similar to polytechnics.

The ND/HND Nursing program spans four uninterrupted years, comprising 2 years for ND and 2 years for HND. Students initially enroll in the ND Nursing program, which is non-terminal. Those who graduate with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 (Lower Credit) can progress to the HND Nursing program.

3. Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital School of Nursing, Ile-Ife, Osun State
Recently, OAUTHC started requiring JAMB UTME scores for admission into its ND/HND Nursing programs. This change means the school now offers an uninterrupted ND/HND Nursing program instead of the previous general/basic Nursing program.
