European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Manchester United Transfers And Discussions.. by Brytawon(m): 5:16pm On Feb 26, 2016
[b]I've been a full blooded Manchester United fan for the past 10years (atleast) if I'm not mistaken. I've always been a patriotic fan since the day I fell for Manchester United and to visit Old Trafford (the Theatre Of Dreams) someday will be a great accomplishment to crave my loyalty where it lies.

I remember the era of Sir Alex Ferguson and how winning great matches was a feeling second to non. How we bossed our opponents in most times. We played great football of counter-attacking and most points, we never had the great stars in football during those periods because we made our own stars from nothing; players who played for the love of both the team and the club. I will always remember how our players always celebrated whenever they scored; you can see that passion in them. We had world class players in their own way.

When it was time for Sir Alex Ferguson to call time on his career on 8 May, 2013 it felt like a day we prayed never to come. A successor to take the tradition of the club further became a herculean task and at the same time, most fans if not all became gutted because it seems like we were never going to have our "Dream Coach" and just when we lost all hopes, on 6 May, 2013 David Moyes was officially announced as the next man for the job after signing a 6years contract. I couldn't just believe what I saw, read and heard on that faithful day. Despite knowing his precedence in Everton, I just knew he wasn't the man for the job but I just had to believe in him as a try.

We all know the stories that followed after his reign began on 1 July, 2013. His first unofficial game as a United manager ended in a defeat to Singha All-Stars in Bangkok on 13 July, 2013. Countless of records that defined us as a team began to fall like a pack of cards or should I say like dry leaves from a tree. Players who won titles with us became average players or should I say were no where to be found. We started plunging large amount of money into the transfer market but still we couldn't go back to our days of glory and just then, I knew it was time for David Moyes to go cause we lost every bit of respect in our opponents' eyes. Those moments where like bitter pills to swallow.

On 22 April, 2014 he was sacked and replaced in the interim by our long-serving player, Ryan Giggs after our lowest league finish since the establishment of the Premier League (7th position).

Ryan Giggs was in-charge of four games and at that time we have mixed results; two wins, one draw and one defeat.

After his final match in charge, a 1–1 draw with
Southampton, Giggs admitted to breaking down in tears, in part due to the pressure of managing United, and also said he had struggled to sleep during the period.

On 19 May, 2014 Louis van Gaal was officially announced as the man to take over from David Moyes with the mandate of qualifying us to the UEFA Champions League and on 16 July, 2016 he officially took charge of a match after signing a 3years contract. To be frank, I was overjoyed after seeing what he did in the 2014 World Cup at Brazil. I began to have this feeling of him "being the right man" but long before time, I began to hear his past relationships with players in Ajax, Barcelona and Bayern Munich as a manager. I almost began to lose faith in him immediately but I still had to give him a try knowing what we have gone through since Sir Alex Ferguson left in 2013.

We began to have mixed results but our tradition and style of play began to change even further. We mostly had narrow wins but like they always say, "The win doesn't matter". Players were been used out of positions but I still had my cool. We had managed to finish 4th in the League and had qualified for the playoffs in the UEFA Champions League after we were given an easy challenge to face Club Brugge.

2015/2016 season began after we qualified for the group stage of the UCL in which we were grouped with Wolfsburg, PSV and CSKA Moscow in what seemed to be an easy group. Our style of narrow wins continued with our tradition of attacking football further degrading. We began to see the era of David Moyes crippling in but under a new face and we the fans lost every patience in LVG.

A perfect timing to the sack of Jose Mourinho, availability of Carlo Ancelloti and rumours of Pep Guardiola leaving Bayern Munich even Jurgen Klopp would have been added to the list if not that Liverpool had already snapped his signature.

Three to four world class coaches were available for us to select and Manchester United faithfuls were thrown into estascy from time to time with rumours of links to one of these coaches or the other. Guardiola was pictured as a perfect choice for our dying tradition but doubts of his inexperience in English league just like Ryan Giggs striked a bad spot on getting him for the job. Before we could decide our position, Ancelloti had been officially announced as the next person to manage Bayern and Guardiola was rumoured to be heading to Manchester City which later became official. We were left with only Mourinho as the last option but style and tactics of the game became an issue before the board.

We became divided on who we wanted as our next manager between Ryan Giggs and Jose Mourinho but it seems only Ed Woodward is fully behind Louis van Gaal and Woodward's head has been called for in refusing to sack LVG but Mourinho has been rumoured to have won the fight for short term success and the only person capable of going head to head with Guardiola. Rumours will always remain rumours but we never know when they'll be CONFIRMED OFFICIALLY.

This long epistle is for that person who thinks I know nothing about MANCHESTER UNITED or I'm just an unpatriotic weak fan. This is to clear the air before I make my thoughts on the current situation from Old Trafford (The Theatre Of Dreams). THANK YOU!

Alright. You can always give me your answer when you're ready. Us the fans here have been criticizing LVG and you've been criticizing us for criticizing him.

So I'd love to learn your own points.

It seems I'm less busy now.

I don't need to. He should just bring in Pochettino from Tottenham or give us Ryan Giggs.

Not frustrated, just hornyyyy for regular wins. Not a draw 5,lose 4 win 1 with 6-3 aggregate.

We need consistency in our wins coupled with good football. Not some dumbshiit Rooney, fellaini and Romero play.

You need to book a meeting with Ed Woodward... cheesy

I hate that lingard dude. He is a waste and too average. He scores sometimes yes but he is as Rooney. Plays nonsense and scores goals sometimes.

Dude even dives. I admire our young wing backs. Jackson, Varela, Riley, Shaw.

I say varela replaces lingard in that position cause varela is also good at attacks. Lingard has no creativity and just too average. The mumu even dives.

Another frustrated fan. grin
