englishmart: the ways of God are not the ways of men. If his destiny was to be a failure, he would have ended up a failure. But since he ended up successful, that's his destiny..
Destiny can't be denied. That's why it's called destiny.. can you just shut the F up n stop spewing thrash already! what has destiny got to do with human induced misfortune |

Family › Re: Does Being A " Good African Wife"= Suffering? by Buchman1(m): 9:05am On Nov 04, 2014 |
tatiana009: Nigerians like suffering and they are usually envious of those who are not. Majority of them can't afford to buy those gadgets or use a hospital where they can get epidural . Instead of them to admit that they are unable to afford these things they would rather try and put those things down and make it sound bad for those who are fortunate enough to be able to afford it. It's the same way you will hear a man who cannot even afford to buy a bicycle saying that he dosen't even like Range Rovers because they are too common lmao.
Most women that have all these gadgets work and they are contributing financially and then it will afford them the time to take care of them self look wise and still have steamy sex anytime. That to me is a good wife not one who looks a mess and just lies there during sex because the poor woman is tired from pounding yam and doing other chorea while she also had to go o work. The same men would insult the woman for letting herself go a if women have 48hour in a day. you sound so shallow minded |
Family › Re: Does Being A " Good African Wife"= Suffering? by Buchman1(m): 8:34pm On Nov 03, 2014 |
aisha2: My apologies for the previous reference. However, i beg to differ, i am not talking about suffering people i have seen men who will buy the latest gadgets yet hold on to archaic views even when their wives can afford it themselves the women have to do strong head and buy the items themselves and meet strong resistance from their husbands who insist of doing it the local way.
I respect hard work so saying i look on suffering is not what am doing who are these so called men you are talking about! Buying expense gadgets yet subjecting their wives to untold hardship! are these wives given to them as gifts? why would a sane individual who calls himself a man subject his wife to suffering in a bid to classify her a hardworking woman? where I come from, how well n classy ones wife looks is a thing of pride for the man n I strongly believe this attribute transcends tribe. So ma'am get real. |
Culture › Re: Nigerians And Fake Foreign Accents by Buchman1(m): 7:21pm On Nov 01, 2014 |
nobilis: OP, Thanks for giving us your life And family history. You should have also mentioned when you naturalized as an American or a British citizen.
Back to the topic. What's all the fuss about accent? There is No hard And fast rule anywhere that a person must speak a language in a certain way because he is from a particular country . People can decide to pick up new accents or drop the old ones they acquired in the past. People can also to learn new accents And be using them interchangeably with the previous ones they acquired. As for me, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. As long you are communicating with your audience, you're covered. After all, a person's nationality must not be known through his accent.
And (I stand to be corrected), I don't think there is anything like Nigerian accent because the way an Hausa man speaks English is so different from the way an Igbo or Yoruba man speaks it. Let alone other ethnic groups.
And for those mentioning culture And pride about culture, I wonder when English language became part of your culture. So what has a "Nigerian accent" got to do with culture? Do tell. you the fuss master. you know very well what d op is getting at yet you twist issues |

lafuria1: Nigeria is what is making those courses overrated. Think of it, if Nigeria invested money in science and research, the so called overrated microbiologist and pharmacist will be busy in the labs. How many pharmaceutical research companies do we have in Nigeria , all we do is import all the drugs, we even import from India smh.
Truth be told, if you at to base the rating of courses in the university on job prospects, 80% of courses we study are overatted. very insightful and well thought out comment |
