So it's one thing to dream, it's one thing to believe, but at the end of the day, you have to do something, right?
You have to be willing to pay the price.
So one of the questions that you have to ask yourself is what price are you willing to pay for success?
What are you willing to give up?
What are you willing to sacrifice?
Because there's always a trade off.


Habit number seven, successful people feel the fear and they do it anyway.
See, a lot of people, they think that successful people have no fears.
Of course they have fears.
Of course they have doubts.
Of course they're afraid to make a decision sometimes.
They're human beings.
The difference is they don't let the fears stop them.
They don't let the fear dictate what they are or what they're not going to do.
They feel the fear, but they do it anyway.
What you have to do is to keep at it.


Habit number eight, successful people seek mentorship.
You see, unsuccessful people very often, they have a big ego and please listen to me.
Your ego is not your amigo.
Your ego is not your friend.
Your ego will destroy you.
See, you don’t have to do it yourself alone.
You shouldn’t let your pride, your ego stop you from seeking mentorship
You don't have all the answers.
You don't know everything.
There's no way someone knows everything, and the more you learn, the more you realize
how little that you know.


So habit number nine, successful people have enthusiasm.
You notice, high income people, they have high energy.
Low income people, they have low energy.
They can't get anything done.
They're not productive.
They cannot make it happen.
They lack the vitality, the energy, right?
The enthusiasm, the stamina to make things happen.
Then how are you going to accomplish anything
if you don't approach anything
with passion and enthusiasm?
You may not be the best at it right now, but if you are enthusiastic and you believe and you're passionate, incredibly passionate about what you do, you're going to make it happen.
So that's a very key habit that kind of makes everything work, and that leads to the last habit and that's


habit number 10.
Successful people commit to constant improvement.
You see, after you have done all these things, you act as if,
You pay the price, you seek mentorship, you kept going
and finally you excited.
It now about improving on yourself, It's always about becoming better, becoming a better version of yourself.
If you want to be healthier, what do you need to do?
You will study nutrition, you will study fitness, right?
If you want to be a good cook, you will learn recipes.
You will learn from other chefs.
You will brainstorm ideas.
It's no different.
If you want to be successful,
you have to make that a subject that you study.
It has to be something that you take seriously.
It is something that you put some effort in.

Habit number one, successful people take 100% responsibility for their own life.
Stop blaming other people for anything that happen to you.
Take the full responsibility of all situations. Leave people out and be in charge.

Habit number two, decide exactly what you want.
Most people in life don't get what they want because they don't know what they want.
You have to set a goal "What is it that you really want?"
Yes, you have to know exactly what you want.

habit number three, believe it is possible.
That's it! You just have to believe that it is possible,
not just for others but for yourself.
Napoleon Hill talks about this in "Think and Grow Rich".
"Whatever your mind can conceive and believe,
"you can achieve", and it's very true.
You have to first believe that you can do it.

Habit number four, highly successful people visualize success.
So here's what you should do.
Once you know that this is my goal,
once you take 100% responsibility and you believe that you can make it happen,
You need to visualize success. See yourself in it.

Habit number five, successful people act as if, the result has already been accomplished.
So they act and talk in a way that hey, you know what?
It's mine, it's mine already.
It's done, it's a done deal.
So you need to act as if.

This is the continuation of the last episode…5 skills that you should learn during lockdown.

Skill number three, closing. The ability to close products or services, to sell them over the phone, or over the internet through Zoom.

Those are very valuable skills. With the Coronavirus, with this crisis, companies are now looking into the entire sales division.

And saying oh my goodness, we have all these sales people.
How could we outsource this?
How could we have a remote sales team instead of a sales team with a physical location?
How can we sell our products or services over the phone without a massive overhead?
They're thinking differently.

So if you have the ability to close phone sales, if you have the ability to close products and services,
companies are willing to pay you a hefty commission when you can demonstrate that quality,
when you can demonstrate that you have that skillset.

Closing will be one of the most high demand professions in the world because companies need revenue,
they need sales people, they need skillful sales people, and they need that more than ever,
especially when things are coming back to normal, they need revenue and they need closers.

Skill number four, project management.
Now, because of Slack, because of Zoom, because of people working remotely, companies working remotely, companies outsourcing.
With so many projects going on, that creates a new demand for project managers, right.
People who are able to manage different projects and get stuff done.

We're talking about Scrum, we're talking about Agile, we're talking about various project management methodologies.

With the complexity, with so many companies now even after this, moving more, more motivated than ever, moving more to virtual.

So guess what, with project managers, or just people with project management skills, because now chances are, you will be working with people face to face, but also you will be
working with other people, other team members, remotely.

So this skill would be very useful.
It doesn't matter what it is that you do, doesn't matter if you're working for a company, doesn't matter if you're working for yourself, it doesn't matter if you're running a home business, this will be a valuable skill to have.

Skill number five, one of my favorites, copywriting.
Every single social media post that you see, every single email, every single ad, every single landing page, copywriters.
Companies that do any type of content marketing, companies that do any type of advertising, they need copywriters, and they will always be needing copywriters.
Because it's not just one email, it's not just one page, it's not just one article.
In order to stand out in this noisy world, in this marketplace, content marketing is extremely critical.
They will need someone to write their script, they will need someone to write their social media post.
Almost every single company out there, if they do any kind of online marketing at all, will need a skillful copywriter.

And the beauty with copywriting is, it has nothing to do with writing, it has to do with selling and closing, that's why I call that closing in print.

Copywriting is a learnable skill. I know because I flunked English twice when I was in high school. It is learnable, it is transferable, it is sustainable, and it is doable.

2. DON’T GET PERSONAL
When I say ‘don’t get personal’, your first instinct is to distance yourself from people at work. The answer is DON’T DISTANT YOURSELF but DON’T GET PERSONAL.
Here are some tips to help you be impersonal at all times:
Vent your resentment or complains outside work environment. Don’t you complain about work to your co-worker or try to join the bandwagon of those who resent a new policy that seem not to favour staff. Complaining about work to co-workers can stain your reputation, you can always talk to your friends outside work or family.
Avoid bad mouthing any co-worker. No matter how you feel about a co-worker, be cautious of what you say about such person to another co-worker or even your superior.
Assume that anything you say will be repeated to others. As long as you don’t want any other person hearing whatever you want to tell any co-worker, you might as well keep it to your self
Consciously draw the line between friendliness and getting personal. Don’t always keep to yourself, be friendly and nice. Whenever, anyone takes your friendliness for granted, refrain from giving an angry reaction. Tell such worker how much you are hurt by his or action and try to avoid such person in the future.
3. DEVELOP YOUR ‘PEOPLE’S SKILL’
Stand out in playing office politics by developing a good interactive skill. A good interactive skill is what makes you a people’s person and once you are good at this, you become the King of Hearts in your office.
A nice compliment like ‘I love your suit, it fits you perfectly’, a show of concern, ‘You look dull, are you okay?’, a little affection, ‘please I insist we share this, it is not your village’s taboo, is it?’ is what it takes to be nice to everyone in the office, including your janitor.
Yes, you should also be nice to the people who play dirty office politics, in fact, they are the ones you should get up close to.
Make yourself reliable when any co-worker needs help especially when he/she counts on you.
Talk up everyone’s achievements so you don’t look proud. Whenever you have done something big, maybe you hit a target. You should learn how to use the word ‘we’ and talk about every little help you got from those in your department.
Connect with those who have influence in your office with your friendliness and your productivity.
You should also listen; a good interactive skill means you are a good listener. This way, a lot of people will end up warming up to you.
A good interactive skill gives you an edge above every other person in your office. It places you at an advantage, such that for every one person that envies you, you’ll get more than ten persons (depending on your office population) who’ll support you, defend you and some two or three more willing to put their job on the line for you.
Whether you like it or not, office politics has come to stay,
The quicker you learn how to play it, the better for your career.

I’ve heard people complain bitterly about how dirty office politics can be. I’ve seen friends switch jobs like flickers, either they are victims of office politics or they are trying to avoid the dirty politics at work.

Here is what I always say to them: if you try to avoid office politics, you’ll lose, if you try to pretend it doesn’t exist, you’ll lose, if you focus on the negative politics, you’ll lose, if you think dealing with office politics is stressful, you’ll lose and if you DON’T understand how to deal with it, you’ll lose.

How then can you win?
The first thing I want to say is, try as much as possible never to be the target of office politics. But if you are, I want you to know that you can deal with it without losing your reputation
Here are 3 keys to dealing with politics at work.

1. BE IN CONTROL
Like John C. Maxwell would say “You cannot always control what happens around you, but you can control what happens to you. Here is how to be in control, you do not let anything get to you.”
Being in control is first of all self-discipline, and then it is a deliberate positive action that has to do with knowing your value and knowing your organization.
Using the word ‘SMACK’ as an acoustic, I tried to explain how you can successfully deal with politics at your place of work by being in control

S- Stick to your values. Don’t ever try to imitate someone who broke the rules and got away with it.
M- Manage your stress. Do all you can to ensure that you don’t appear stressed at work, ensure that you are not edgy and try as much as you can to put up your best appearance. You can work out your stress by regular exercise, meditation, reading books or any form of relaxation convenient for you.

A- Act like a professional at all times. Whenever you are at your work environment or around your co-workers, as much as you want to be yourself in order to appear real, you need to be professional. Watch what you say or how you portray yourself among your colleagues or superiors.

C- Calm down, before responding to false allegations or replying to something extremely upsetting. Whenever you are really upset about an allegation, find a way to count 10 before giving a response. While counting, try to calm yourself down and think of something to say. If nothing comes up, you should deny the allegation and try to explain what you did or where you were.

K- Know everything. Knowledge they say is power. Know the rules, know your colleagues, know the influencers, know who to avoid, know the hierarchy in your organization. There ought to be no limit to how much you should know.
