Often times, Nigerian students do ask, “what business can I start with 50k as a student?”. The answer to this question is that there are so many businesses you can start with 50k in Nigeria. In this post, we will discuss 35 of them. They are listed below:

If you are a female student looking for a business you can start with 50k, then this business suits you. It’s the dream of every lady to have skin that’s radiant and beautiful. With natural skin products being the in-thing now, you can jump on the trend and sell organic skincare products in school.

Sales of cooking gas
If you stay off-campus, then cooking gas is a must-have for you. The same also applies to other students who stay off-campus as well. This demand for gas makes it a good business to start on campus and you can start with 50k if you already have a small space to display it – the space has to be safe too.

Mobile Banking/GOTV agent/POS
If you are already into a small business as a student, it would be easier for you to start a mobile money business like the first monie agent. This involves you rendering services like withdrawal and deposit of funds to customers who cannot easily access banks. You can start this business as a student and with 50k.

I recently got the cover of my new e-book done on Fiverr. The guy charged $10 only. I got my work just a few minutes after I made my order.

Career / 12 Things Every Student Should Learn Before Graduation by bukkiideas01: 12:53pm On Jan 15
Here are 12 things every Nigerian student should learn before graduation

Learn social skills
Agreed, you may speak English better than the queen herself, but wouldn’t you agree that speaking fluent queen’s English doesn’t amount to having great communication?

Social skills are the skills we use to communicate and interact with each other, both verbally and non-verbally, through gestures, body language and our personal appearance. Developing social skills is being aware of how we communicate with others and learning to communicate more effectively and efficiently.

So, what are the benefits of learning social skills you may ask? There are many benefits. I’ll tell you some of them:

Social skills help you build better relationships
It helps you communicate better
Helps you advance your career prospect
Helps you make more friends than foes
Increases your happiness.
I’m not a communications expert but I’ll tell you how you can learn these social skills and be smarter than your lecturers.

Read books about social skills
Practice good manners
Give compliments generously
Encourage others to talk about themselves
Always ask open-ended questions that will allow for conversation
Practise practise practise
Know your passion
There is no hard and fast rule to this one. No one is going to teach you what your passion is. Maybe a better question would be “when, how and why should I know what I’m really passionate about? Ok, so let’s answer these questions one after the other.

As for why you should know what you are really passionate about, it’s because your life depends on it. Imagine that music is what you really love doing deep down but somehow, you find yourself on the farm and you will be a farmer for the rest of your life. Not looking good right?

As for when now that you are young and vibrant is the time to trail your passion. The reason is simple: so that your career can be off to a great and early start.

Learn Money Management
A lot of Nigerian students don’t find things funny financially.

Whether their pocket money is enough to get a girl an #assurance or not, every student needs basic money management skills to get them through school.

Money management skills also and prepare you for life after school. This includes learning how to budget, learning the difference between your wants and needs, etc.

You may assume that money management skills are good for when one is broke. That’s a white lie. Whether you are a Dangote or another church poor rat, you need money management skills as much as you need a sunshade on a breezy beach.

Gain Work Experience as an Intern
“This is Nigeria. See how we live now”… Falz apart, it’s not easy for a Nigerian student to land an intern opportunity with an ordinary eye.

We all know that. But some students are making their ways true.

Truth is, opportunities are flying around every day, and it’s nobody’s fault that some students are smarter than others. So it’s up to you to dig out those opportunities.

Every student needs an intern experience. With a three months intern with a structured organization, you could learn most of the skills highlighted here and voila you are ready to take the world.

To this end, we have a segment on the web where on a weekly basis, we bring opportunities to the doors of students across Africa. The ball is in your court now. It’s up to you to do the right thing now that you know.

Business / 45 Businesses To Start With 50K In Nigeria Today- Profitable Business Ideas 2021 by bukkiideas01: 2:55pm On Jan 14
Starting a business in Nigeria is no longer an exception but the norm. From employees who desire to earn some side income to augment their monthly salaries to students looking to make some money for themselves while in school or even unemployed graduates who seek to create employment for themselves, almost everyone wants to venture into a business in Nigeria.

As many of us are aware, one of the major constraints for intending entrepreneurs in Nigeria is funding.  But let me tell you the good news. There are hundreds of businesses to start with 50k in Nigeria or less.

I’m glad to share with you some of the businesses you can start with 50k in Nigeria or less today. And as you think of any of these businesses as a good idea, and probably make plans on starting it, I wish you the very best.

Now, without further ado, below are the 45 businesses to start with 50k in Nigeria:

Business to start with 50k in Nigeria - Foodstuff sales

If there was anything that many people learned during the Covid-19 pandemic, it was the importance and our dependence on food as a basic human need. At some point, almost all businesses were locked down leaving food item sellers and other few essential businesses.

What I love about this business is the fact that with 50k, you would start the business on a grand scale. Even with 30k or 20k, you can start. All you need is a good location and some food items for sale.

Sales of honey/palm oil and other naturals

Talking about healthy living, many Nigerian living in urban areas have now developed a love for home-made and chemical-free natural products like honey, palm oil, good gaari (cassava flakes) from the more rural areas of Nigeria (Eastern or southwest parts or others).

If you live outside of Lagos in Nigeria, this could be a good business idea for you that you can start with little money. You already have customers waiting for you. This business is indeed a gold mine.!

Hand sanitizer production/sales

Tell you what, hand sanitizers have come to stay. People are now more conscious than ever before of the need to always sanitize their hands especially after they come in contact with dirty surfaces.  This awareness has created a business on its own.

This is one of the best businesses to start with 50k in Nigeria. All you need is a little training on making a hand sanitizer which should cost less than 20k, some material which would cost less than 30k and a few customers that you can convince.

For this business to thrive, your products must be good and you need an enlightened customer base.

Production and sales of bedsheets/ pillowcase

This is another low-cost business that will get started with 50k or less here in Nigeria. Beddings and pillowcases are essential items in every middle-income earning households in Nigeria. People like myself have about 6 pairs of bedsheets and some even more.

Am sure you can imagine the prospect of this business already. With 50k to purchase materials (if you want to do the sowing by yourself), and get sowing machines. You may want to leverage Instagram App to produce contents that would drive sales.

Sales of skin care products/organics

“Skincare” is the next most common word now in Nigeria next to the president’s name, lol. Many Nigerians (especially females) are obsessed with skincare products that would either give them a skin tone or help bring radiance in their skin. The skincare line is one of the products of the “naturals movement”.

If you are interested in this business, it’s something you can start with the little 50k you have saved. But you need expertise when it comes to producing the products. You may also learn it within the limit of your budget – 50k.

Remember to start small, start now and start with what you have. What can make you start out is to carve a niche, i.e, elderly ones, babies, new moms, etc., and remember, knowledge and skill is everything in this type of business.

General Cleaning/Homes and Offices/Fumigation

People move and change houses from time to time. This creates a need for house cleaning services especially for busy, middle-high income earning families in urban cities in Nigeria. Office cleaning is also quite common.

This is a cool side business you could start with 50k or even 30k. It requires little expertise but will thrive on trust and competence. Ensure you and your people observe standard practices that would make your customers keep coming and referring to others.

Ice cream and healthy yogurt production

From the way things are going, producers of soft drinks high on caffeine and sugar may soon have to bite their fingers with the level of enlightenment about the consumption of such items in Nigeria. But people would need alternatives.

Already, I’ll rather take healthy yogurts and fruit ice cream that are locally made than popular soft drinks in a black and red bottle or even the popular one in orange, the same applied to malt drinks. This trend had created a huge business opportunity. The choice is yours to make.

Business / Best Business That Make Money During Covid-19 Lock Down - by bukkiideas01: 12:11pm On Jan 08
Publish and sell E-books
For one thing, information products sell more than ever in this time of corona-virus lockdown.

Guess what, interest in e-books started even before the COVID-19 pandemic. But with the lockdown, the quest for information products has increased drastically.

The perfect home business you can do right now is information marketing. Offering e-books is one of the ways to sell your information product.

It’s quite simple to create an e-book but the first thing is to choose your topic wisely. Choose a topic that your target audience needs, rather than want. ‘How-tos’ and ‘ultimate guides’ e-books don’t do badly.

Make sure you research topics that are most fast-selling.

Once you’ve written your e-book, convert it to a PDF format then convert to the Amazon Kindle publishing format or any other format accepted by the platform you want to use.

Depending on how useful your e-book is, you could be making $10-50 on a copy of your book or even more. Now that’s cook money, isn’t it?

Start a Podcast of interest, monetize it
The podcast industry is growing astronomically. According to a report from the Interactive Advertising Bureau and PWC, the podcast industry generated an estimated $479.1 million in revenue in 2018 and is expected to produce more than $1 billion by 2021, according to a new report from the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and PwC. The latest revenue figure represents an increase of 53 percent in just a year.Making a podcast audio in Nigeria

With these statistics, it is obvious that the podcast is booming right now. Now, that’s the best good-news since Boris Johnson was discharged from the hospital for COVID-19, isn’t it?

There are hardly enough podcasts for people to listen to on the various topics of interest.

Why not start your podcast? And no, you don’t necessarily have to be an authority on any subject; once you are passionate about the topic, you could even interview authorities on the different topics and flesh up your podcast contents.

Sell handcrafted items on Etsy
If you’re curious about is where to make money online right now, then, my answer would be, on Etsy.

Etsy is an online market place where people sell and buy handmade art and crafts and vintage items.

If you love art and crafts or like to make handmade products i.e. fashion items, embroideries, etc. then, Etsy is where you should be displaying your items and getting paid now.

Etsy will pay you once buyers purchase items that you list on their platform and only take 5% for themselves. The rest of the money is yours. I can assure you that you could make good bucks doing this.

Start an online course
Have you bought an online course recently? I don’t know about you but I have bought up to $300 worth of online courses in the past three months.

Now, I want you to put your imagination into use. Imagine that you own the online courses I had bought in three months. You must have earned $100 each month from me – just one customer.

You may want to multiply that by 500 buyers or even more each month. Are you thinking what am thinking?

Get paid from Online Surveys
You have plenty of free time on your hands now. Would you rather keep staring at your endless Instagram feeds all day or start filling online surveys and earn some cool bucks?

Online surveys are questionnaires that the target audience can complete over the Internet.

Online surveys are usually created as Web forms where a database can be stored and statistical software can provide analytics.Father browsing in the sitting room.

You would be incentivized to complete online surveys by winning prices or money upon the completion of the survey task. Making money has never been easier!

Make money on Fiverr

OMG Fiverr is awesome!

If you’ve not been making money on Fiverr, then have you been under the rock?

Anyways, if you have marketable digital skills of any sort, it’s the best way to make money in this lockdown.

By marketable, I mean sought after digital skills such as graphic design, Infographics, content writing, WordPress designers, programmers, keyword research, video animators, etc.

If you have any of these skills and you know your onions, you may just be one click away from earning from people looking for skills that you have.

NYSC / 5 Things You Should Do During Your NYSC Year - Don't Miss Number 5! by bukkiideas01: 12:05pm On Jan 07
NYSC is a great opportunity to add value to your life for those 12 months.

If you are yet to serve your fatherland (as they will say), and you are already developing your own business idea as an entrepreneur, you are ready to witness the most profitable 12 months of your life!

Here is how you can employ Youth service to turn your dream of becoming a successful entrepreneur into reality.

Gather important contacts
Starting from camp, you will meet people, some of these people you meet, both fellow corp members and other camp officials may be relevant to your line of business to open up, tell them about your business and let them see that you are damn serious about your business as you claim.

You don’t want to make the mistake of underestimating any contact; you never can tell who will be the most valuable client in the nearest future.

So, widen out, meet people and garner contacts.

Once you have those contacts, retain them and make sure you retain an amicable relationship with them too.

Boost your social media base
Since you will meet people from different places and backgrounds during service, you should make it your aim to hook them up on social media.

Having them as your friends on social media platforms will provide you with the medium to promote your business through social media, that is, you will be able to increase your social following on i.e., Instagram, Twitter or Facebook.

This will in turn, drastically help promote your new business. So don’t just make friends for the whole 12 months, make friends who will remain your friends and help you make money in the nearest future.

Meet skilled potential partners
You may not only meet your future spouse during your service year; you may also meet future business partners.

When you eventually hit the ground running with your business, you may not have the luxury of time and money to be looking for skilled hands that would help you handle various parts of your business to be on the lookout for them now.

If you are going into publishing, for example...

Business / 35 Online Businesses In Nigeria That Pay Daily by bukkiideas01: 11:11am On Jan 06
Make money daily on Fiverr
Getting jobs on Fiverr is one of the best ways to get paid online daily. They are the largest online platform where people sell and buy services (mainly online services) such as graphic design, SEO services, content writing, animation, etc.

If you are good at providing any of these services or even more, go and sign up on Fiverr as a creator, create an appealing profile and start getting customers who need those services.

Take away tip

There are already some digital service providers like you who have since registered on Fiverr and have been getting gigs. So, make sure your pricing is not too high or too low – just moderate. Once you have some clients in your hands, you may begin to charge more.

Email Marketing
Think about how many emails you get in your inbox every day. A lot of these are probably email newsletters you’ve signed up for. Some you can’t wait to open every day, while others — you wonder how they’ve even reached you.

Creating a niche email newsletter can be a great way to reach a targeted group of people and create a solid and sustainable business. Best of all, starting an email newsletter doesn’t have to be difficult. With platforms like ConvertKit, Drip, MailChimp, and Aweber, it’s never been easier.

Best of all, starting an email newsletter doesn’t have to be difficult. With platforms like ConvertKit, Drip, MailChimp, and Aweber, it’s never been easier.

Here’s the process for you to follow:

Decide upon a niche you’d like to serve, and the style of your emails

Choose an email marketing provider

Create a simple landing page and drive traffic to that page

Send regular emails to that list

The goal of your email list is to build trust, so your customers would open your emails every day. Once you have a sizeable list of people that opens your emails you have multiple ways to monetize that list, such as:

Selling your own digital products

Offering a membership course

Sending your subscribers to affiliate offers

Selling sponsorships

Invest in Cryptocurrency
Investing in cryptocurrency is one way you can make money online in Nigeria these days/ The first step in your cryptocurrency business is to get your knowledge and skills up to speed.

There are multiple approaches to earn money off cryptocurrency including:

Investing in coins before they IPO, or grow in value

Learning how to program and work with blockchain

Become a cryptocurrency writer/blogger/vblogger

Getting a job at a cryptocurrency startup

Since cryptocurrency and blockchain technology are still in their beginnings, it’s a great time to learn the necessary skills to position yourself for

future success.

Become a social media influencer
Another online business that pays daily in Nigeria is being a social media influencer

If you consistently give some kind of value to your followers on Instagram – whatever it is, you could grow your account beyond those of your peers and gradually build your way into becoming an influencer using the IG platform.

If you frequent IG, you’ll have noticed how influencers of different sizes and shapes are making cool money from the number of followers they have on Instagram. Sometimes, don’t you think, ‘how I wish this were me’? And yes, it could be you!

Brands from small, medium, and big are looking everywhere for influencers who have relatively large followers on Instagram to pay them some good money so they can talk about their brands.

Manage social media accounts
Now, let me make a clarification. Managing social media accounts is different from being a social media influencer. An influencer works with brands who pay them to advertise a product to the influencer’s followers subtly.

Managing social media accounts involve creating exciting content on brands’ social media pages and helping such brands drive engagement that will increase their followers and drastically boost sales.

Take away tips

I love this work because you can manage as many as 5 businesses or more at once and pay from all the businesses. To make your work easier, you may use apps that help to post on social media easy for content producers.

Make money dropshipping
Dropshipping is the new way people make money online in Nigeria now without spending a dime!

Dropshipping simply put, is a business model where instead of purchasing a large amount of inventory (goods or products), you simply partner with a drop shipping supplier (manufacturer) and list their merchandise for sale online i.e., websites, Instagram or Facebook.

Once you receive an order you forward it to the supplier for fulfillment (supply to the customer), the supplier will ship (or transport) the product directly from their warehouse to your customer, and charge you only for the price of the shipped item.

You send your drop shipper the orders that come in, paying the wholesale price for each order. Whatever prize you sold for the customers will be deducted from the wholesale price and that’s your profit.

Assuming the customer orders a tuxedo suit that you sell at N50,000 and the wholesale price from the drop shipper is N28,000, your profit is N22,000. The merchant will charge you shipping fees though which is just a token compared to what you’ll make.

Investment / 51 Businesses To Start With 100k In Nigeria - Good Investment by bukkiideas01: 2:31pm On Jan 05
It’s good to know that you are interested in starting a business here in Nigeria. It’s also commendable that you’ve saved the sum of 100k – or gotten it from well-wishers – and you want to invest the money in a business that can yield interests or profit for you.

N100k is not a small amount of money to come by, going by the present economic situation in our country.

The funny thing is that there are many people in Nigeria who have up to N1million free money. Sadly, they are not thinking about an investment they can make or a business they can start with the money.

Happily, you are too smart than to do that.

With N100k, there are profitable businesses you can start now. If you are consistent with the business and put in all needed effort, you may be able to grow the business into a successful enterprise in less than one year.

In this post, I’ll show you 51 businesses that you can start with N100k in Nigeria.

1. Production and sales of hand sanitizers

Interestingly, with even much less than N100, you can start the business on a grand scale.

All you need to start your hand sanitizer business are Ethanol, Hydrogen peroxide, Glycerol, Sterile distilled, or boiled cold water, all in stipulated quantities. Some other simple logistics are also involved but none will exceed 100k.

Mini importation business
You’ll be surprised that you don’t need any huge amount of money to start a mini importation business.
Mini importation business is when you import a small volume of goods from a manufacturing country like China to Nigeria at a minimum cost and maximum profit.
The processes too are very easy, even anyone can do mini importation as long as they can read and write. Your phone or a laptop computer; internet connection active email address, traceable home address, and as small as 100K or less is all you need to start.

Daycare Services
With a small apartment that could be your personal apartment; a little time on your hand and less than toys, you could start your daycare services spending less than 100K.
You may start with children of relatives and friends and from there, expand your business to accommodate other kids. Parents are always in search of reliable daycare service providers. Laundry Services
You can start a profitable laundry services business with less than 100k. The bulk of your money would go to purchasing a washing machine.

Car Wash
If you live in an urban area, car wash business is suitable for a small budget. Most car owners do not have that luxury of time to keep their cars clean. They find it a better option to pay N1,000 or more to wash their cars whenever it is dirty. Finding a location and source of water supply is all you need to spend on doing this business. Word of mouth advert is the best marketing you can do. If you can combine this business with a small beer parlor and ‘asun’, you will attract more car owners.

Interior Décor
Interior décor business is not very capital intensive and it’s a very profitable business. When you are starting out, it’s better you start small and then grow to become a big interior décor business. So you can start with N100k.

But that does not mean you shouldn’t package your business like it’s a million dollars’ worth of business.

Business / 21 Ways To Make Money As A Teenager In Nigeria by bukkiideas01: 9:30pm On Dec 29, 2020
As a teenager in Nigeria, you should learn how to make money from home and help yourself to become financially independent.
If you can make money as a teenager in Nigeria, you can even help your parents and siblings and every one your family can be happy and fulfilled.
Below is how you can make money as a teenager in Nigeria:

1. Get paid through Online Survey Websites

Online Survey websites are websites where users help fill out surveys on behalf of different organizations who want to learn more about their customers or other information.
These survey websites pay users upon successfully finishing a survey.
You will be required to fill a form where you signify your interests and field of knowledge.
Thereafter, surveys that match your interest would be sent to you. Upon your completion, you will be paid immediately.
What I have observed is that not all paid survey platforms are open to users from Nigeria.
In fact, most survey websites don’t allow Nigerian users to leverage their platforms to make money.
But don’t you worry, in a previous post, I listed the best 15 paid survey websites that are open to Nigerian users.
2. Start a Podcast
Am sure you have heard about podcasts in recent times.
Podcasts are the in-thing now and, guess what, the best place anyone can launch their podcasts is on the campus.
According to Wikipedia, a podcast is an episodic series of spoken word digital audio files that a user can download to a personal device for easy listening.
It is just like a radio programme. But unlike radio, it can be downloaded and listened to anytime.
Lots of people make money through sponsors by having lots of people listen to their podcast. As a student, you can too.
3. Sell Art and Crafts on Etsy
If you want to find answers to the question, ‘how can I make money as a teenager in Nigeria?’ go and sell arts and crafts on Etsy website.
Etsy is an online market place where people sell and buy handmade art and crafts and vintage items.
If you love art and crafts or like to make handmade products i.e. fashion items, decoration, etc. then, Etsy is where your money is waiting for you.
Etsy will pay you once buyers purchase items that you list on their platform and only take 5% for themselves. The rest of the money is yours.
Guess what, you will be paid in dollars. That means a lot of money for you as a student in Nigeria.
4. Make money with Fiverr
Similar to Etsy, you can start making money as a Nigerian teenager right now on Fiverr if you have marketable digital skills.
By marketable, I mean sought after digital skills such as graphic design, Infographics, content writing, WordPress designers, programmers, keyword research, video animators, etc.
If you have any of these skills, you can start earning in dollars from people looking for skills that you have.
5. Create An Online Store With Drop Shipping
Dropshipping is the new way people make money as a student without spending a dime/1
Dropshipping is a business model where instead of purchasing a large amount of goods or products, you simply partner with a manufacturer and list their merchandise for sale online i.e. websites, Instagram or Facebook.
Once you receive an order you forward it to the supplier for fulfilment (supply to a customer), the supplier will transport the product directly from their warehouse to your customer, and charge you only for the price of the shipped item.
You send your drop shipper the orders that come in, paying the wholesale price for each order.
Whatever prize you sold for the customers will be deducted from the wholesale prize and that’s your profit.
6. Start A Niche Blog for Affiliate Marketing
Another good way to make money as a teenager in Nigeria is through a niche blog. A niche blog is a blog that focuses on a particular audience.
That’s where the money is in blogging
You could start a blog for dating, a fashion blog for girls or a fitness blog for students. Basically, you can choose any niche provided you are knowledgeable or passionate about it.
It is easier for you to attract advertisers with a niche blog.
As a teenager, you can easily juggle blogging with your school work. You may decide to write your blog post twice or thrice a week.
7. Start a product review blog
You could also make money as a teenager by reviewing new products on your blog. A video blog or Vlog will be more perfect for this type of blogging.
I know personally of lots of bloggers who review new phones, laptops or other gadgets and get paid by top brands when their vlog gets lots of views.
Certainly, this is one of the best ways to make money as a teenager in Nigeria because teenagers use lots of gadgets.
So, why don’t you start your own review Vlog or blog?
