I thought this vehicle had been sold. Oga please confirm. |
Good morning folks. I own a 2004 nissan xterra. V6. I wis to upgrade to a 2008 or 2009. Will need some help on some questions. 1. Is it true that the issue for the xterra was fixed for 2008? 2. How can I know the difference between a 2007 and a 2008 xterra by mere looking at it? 3. Are the 2009 engine and suspension component that different? And are the price differences that much? 4. Is it also true that I can't install an in-dash dvd navigation system in the 2009? Below is my xterra if interested....

2004 Nissan xterra Liking this thread Travelled to abuja for work early last month and noticed my suv delays just a bit during gear change. Didn't bother about it that much till it continued and seemed to get worse. Checked the gear ATF stick sometime last week and found oil was low. Due to my work schedule had to top it up with seahorse dexron 3. I know it's not really a good one. But couldnt get Mobil dexron 3 everywhere I checked. Anyway finally went to apo to a mechanic recommended by a friend. He removed the ATF from the gear box and was about loosing the bottom plate of the gearbox so as to service and clean the gear filter but found it hard to unscrew like 3 bolts. Was late then cause he did other works also on the car. Told him to couple it back and put the new ATF I got. Called a nissan car parts dealer in enugu told me to get a matic D ATF. So used 5 litres of that. Drove it yesterday and it still felt same. Was at another mechanic yesterday and he said I should check the gear oil under the vehicle. Will try and do that today but want to find out what you think. Thanks . |
oga siena why did you say the thermostat shd not be remioved in any car. got an xterra last year and when i noticved it over heating i took it to a mech in lagos. a so called double radiator, thicker fan with more blades and the mechanism that tuns the fan was changed. during this process the thermostat was removed. though the over heating stopped, i still kept the original thermostat (instincts) dont trust the nigerian mech. i try as much as possible never to leave my car alone with any mech. sometimes your presence and lil car-know-how helps to check them. so back to my question. why not remove the thermostat? Hey guys. Looking for a rugged suv to buy. Have the xterra 04 on my mind. Does anyone know any realible dealer I can call? Also must the radiator be changed once purchased? And what's with the radiator water leaking into the transmission? Also considering an 04 toyota 4runner but seems to be too expensive. |

Send photos to dubemokafor@hotmail.com. |
Am not a dealer. I call it as it is. What I meant by accidented is that most dealers do buy used accidented cars from foreign car dealers just to maximize profit. This was bought by the owner to drive and has a clean car history over there and here. Going to abuja. Would see the vehicle and get back to you. Will be coming down with the vehicle hopefully. |
only serious buyers should call this number for more details n offer- 07025461654 |
