tbaba1234: Deols,

Inter tribal marriage came up. Issues and ayah comes to head, I write. That is how it goes.

If I have issues with your preferences, I will tell you directly. I have seen them before many times.

There are other reasons, I have close family members who have experienced this. My brother has experienced this.

Now, I can't help that you feel defensive. I clarified what I was talking about numerously.

I have written about other things which were even in very direct disagreement with what other people write and there are no emotional outbursts.

What I wrote is not against your preferences but against a discriminatory attitude which does exist.

Is it because the issue started from you? Why is that so important? I have written on other things started by others.

This reminds me of a visiting imam who once gave a khutba then got accosted on the drive-way by a man who felt, he was talking about him. He had some similar issues with the local mosque commitee. He went off, on the imam. The imam was just giving a general khutbah on an issue but he was offended. He kept him there for almost an hour.

I am not looking to offend anyone, but I feel that message is revelant to that discussion and the thread as a whole.

May Allah forgive our shortcomings.
Aameen. I understood it very well. And it's beneficial and educafive.
Forget about it and let move on.

tbaba1234: It is NOT about you. The ayat was clear.. Why must it be about you?

Goodness!! i addressed a very real problem in the muslim world because it came up. They is no better time to talk about. If I am replying to a post, I will quote you or call your name.

Inter tribal marriages and tribalism is very relevant to this thread.

Like I always say, please read the message instead of feeling victimised. Calm down.

I didn't even allude to your posts. My thinking was about parents rejecting on basis on tribe and I quoted a hadith.

Salam
Tbaba, you will get PIF grin grin grin

Wizeboy: NOBODY is saying here that EDUCATION is not important (please don't get me wrong), the information I am trying to pass through is that, is not ONLY University that can give someone a form of education to be intelligent, exposed or successful.

Nigerians always believe the University is the only source of acquiring education, which is why we now have half-baked graduates because so many people that does not have any business going to University in the first place are now there just to show off. Skill and Acquisition, Vocational, Business Schools among so many other informal schools are also form of education that can always expose individual to any capacity in life.

Is not everybody that will go to University, China and other fast growing Economy have realized this, that is why their child are been enrolled in Vocational and Skill & Acquisition Centre more than the so-called University. Is our mentality of I MUST GO TO UNIVERSITY that has made Nigeria to has one of the most Unemployment Youth in the world.

Education will always be Education either Formal or Informal; Is true Prophet Muhammed (SAW) said we should always seek (knowledge) education, but he NEVER mention University Education... Education can be learned or acquired from any where depending on what the person is trying to become in life.

I am so sure, nobody here will want to give his/her car to a Nigerian graduate of Mechanical Engineering to repair while you see a very good Mechanic who didn't even read Primary Six. That is how life is!

NOBODY is a total illiterate in the world again because YOU can only be literate in what you know while you will also be an illiterate in the field you know nothing about.

I am not trying to win this argument but I am just trying to pass my own point across.
JazaakallAhu khayr.

PLEASE DEFINE EDUCATION. You can't tell me that someone that studies Shariah or tauheed in university of Saudi Arabia, Iran, Sudan etc but couldn't express himself/herself in English isn't educated? What's your definition for EDUCATION?

deols: I remember hearing long ago about some brothers who would not allow their Children to be vaccinated. They said the west was injecting them to control population. Imagine being married to someone like that and putting your children at risk of polio and what have you...
There are some doctors that doesn't allow it to be given to their children. It’s controversial.
Please define what you meant as being educated.

harmeenart: Being a school cert holder doesnt mean you'ld be thinking like a secondary school kid. Some university students/graduates can't even think beyond their nose.
I dont think degrees should be a criteria, but level of intelligence and thinking.
Personally,I know of some people that jamb and its problems made them give up on tertiary institutions.
I cant say if I can marry one,it actually depends on the type of person.
May Allah grant us all the best.
Aameen
IslamRe: Muslim Singles, Let Us Have A Talk by busar(m): 7:39pm On Dec 17, 2013
When does certificates become prerequisite for marriage? Is certificate going to add to his/her smartness, manner, level of thinking etc...?
There are people who speaks intelligently and you wouldn't know that they are not educated.
Is an SSCE holder an illiterate?

A LETTER FROM A NEWLY
MARRIED GIRL TO HER MOTHER
Dear mom,
Like every normal girl, I was excited about
marriage right from my childhood days. I never
thought beyond the time that I would spend
happily with my prince charming. But today when
I am married, I realize that marriage is not all
roses. It’s not just about being with your
beloved and having a gala time. There is so
much more to it.
It comes with its own share of responsibilities,
duties, sacrifices and compromises. I can’t wake
up anytime I want to. I am expected to be up
and ready before everyone else in the family. I
can’t laze around in my pyjamas throughout the
day.
I am expected to be presentable every time. I
can’t just go out anytime I want to. I am
expected to be sensitive to the needs of the
family. I just can’t hit the bed anytime I want to.
I am expected to be active and around the
family. I can’t expect to be treated like a
princess but am supposed to take care of
everyone else in the family. And then I think to
myself, ‘why did I get married at all?’
I was happier with you, mom. Sometimes I think
of coming back to you and getting pampered
again. I want to come home to my favorite food
cooked by you every evening after a nice outing
with friends. I want to sleep on your laps like I
have no worry in this world.
But then I suddenly realize, had you not got
married and made such sacrifices in your life, I
wouldn’t have had so many wonderful memories
to hang on to. And suddenly, the purpose of all
this becomes clear- to return the same comfort,
peace and happiness to my new family that I got
from you. And I am sure that as time would pass,
I would start loving this life equally as you do.
Thank you mom for all the sacrifices and
compromises you made. They give me the
strength to do the same.I
