Chei!!! Stanbic has played me wayo o. to think they actually called me to inform me that my bid of 18.5% for 364 days was unsuccessful when the stop rate was 18.54%. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, they are about to receive an angry customer at their office. To all the wonderful people on this forum who keep us well informed, I say a big "thank you" to you.

Just received a call from my account officer at Stanbic that the rate for 364 days is 18.47%. If true, it means the stop rate is lower than the rate of the last auction.

Hello House, sorry to digress but I need information from the investment gurus in the house regarding Stanbic's "SIAML Pension ETF 40" presently being offered to the public. How does it work? Is it a safe investment? and How profitable is it? I have read the prospectus but being a non-financial person, I don't seem to understand the information being provided. Thanks

Waaaaooooh, I'm really impressed with the wealth of knowledge being shared on this thread. I've been reading the pages for some days now and I've learnt a lot. God bless the initiator of this thread and everybody that has provided valuable information. I'm however surprised that the thread has not received more visits and contributions like some other threads on nairaland; it shows that many of us (youths) are not interested in things that add value to us and secures our future. To you wonderful contributors, please keep up the good work and keep sharing viable investment options to us. God bless you all

Hello expecting mothers and fathers, if you live in Abuja or its environs and still looking for PTA, you can try Jaiz Bank H/O near Edo House but you need to have an account with them. New accounts are accepted for the purpose of buying PTA. They sold today. Good luck to everyone still searching for PTA. Hope this info helps

About the birth certificate theyre saying two weeks oo
How did unget d birth cert in two days pls help!

I think the time frame within which to get the birth certificate depends on the city where the baby was born. I gave birth in Brockton which has only two hospitals for childbirth so the demand for birth certificate isn't so high. Boston is the busiest City with the highest number of hospitals in MA so it may take up to two weeks. However, you can advise your wife to check before two weeks because they usually give an allowance to cover delays, which may not necessarily arise.

Hmmm the cost breakdown na no go area ooo, long story but summary is my aunty insisted she stays with dem in Boston, dat they will offset d diff between elpaso and Boston, which they have done already
And now free accommodation, feeding, transport to and from hospital and for shopping etc and she's enjoying d company with familiar faces=-d =ddd
So tey dem even organise surprise baby shower for her too, Isn't God good
For baby doc anywhere we get stuck U WILL HEAR FROM US cheesy
Abeg anybody know how dem dey do am for Boston? They've filled hospital form for BC sha o

Congrats Jayjay on the birth of your baby. Discovered this thread sometime last year after I returned from having my baby in Massachusetts (Brockton) last year and have been following since then. I agree with you that the cost of having a baby in Massachusetts (particularly Boston area) is high but like your wife, I had free accomodation , feeding and my friends were really nice to me and organised a surprise baby shower and blessed by Princess with lots of clothes, shoes and some cash) so I didn't mind the associated cost of having the baby there cos I felt I was home.

Has your wife picked up the baby's birth certificate? I was able to pick my baby's bc 3 working days after her birth. For her passport, I went to the Boston Passport Agency at 10 Causeway Street and was asked to pick her passport the following day. Although they advise you make an appointment before visiting the agency, I just walked in and was lucky I was attended to after explaining to them the passport was needed for an urgent travel to Nigeria. I used Eddy for the Nigerian Visa. In total, I was able to get all her documents in two weeks.

I wish you and your family all the best.

Nairaland / General / Re: Legality Of Nipost's Unreceipted 'security/handling Fees' For Online Purchases by Busyonkwe: 11:24am On Apr 27, 2015
VKasparov:
I went to Yola post office recently to collect a small parcel containing a Micro SIM Adaptor (worth NGN 400) I purchased at Aliexpress and the NIPOST staff there told me that there is a circular from "above" that every NIPOST customer must henceforth pay NGN500 per parcel at the point of collection for items bought online.
I explain to them that this was a personal and not a commercial item hence even Nigeria Customs Service did not place any import duty on it. I also explained that I had already paid AliExpress shipping and handling fees for the product and that the product was not even worth up to NGN500. The staff insisted that they were only following orders.
I know that ANYTHING GOES in this country but a situation where public establishments exploit the citizenry at will, is really taking it too far.
I had written to Consumer Protection Agency and I also sent an email to Nigerian Ombudsman about similar issues of exploitation of members of the general public by some unscrupulous establishments but they did not even acknowledge receipt of my mail talk less of acting on it. I've concluded that they are too busy carving out their own share of what remains of the National cake.
I weep for my Country.

This is really sad. Let's hope that the new government will put a stop to the impunity of stealing by government workers. Change has come, hopefully.

@ Kolomax : It's such a shame that we have gotten to that stage in Nigeria. In ideal countries, heads will roll for your goods not being sent to you at the appropriate time but in Nigeria, it's a different ball game. It shouldn't be a favour that you receive your goods at when due. W really need to kick against corruption from the lower strata of our society to the apex level. May God help us in this fight against corruption.
Nairaland / General / Legality Of Nipost's Unreceipted 'security/handling Fees' For Online Purchases by Busyonkwe: 5:07pm On Oct 30, 2014
Hello Nairalanders,

This is to bring to your notice a recent trend at NIPOST (with particular reference to the post office in Wuse Zone 3 Abuja because I am not sure if this is a trend at all NIPOST offices).

I am an enthusiastof of online shopping, partly due to the convenience it offers. Prior to April 2014, I had been receiving my purchased goods at the address for delivery listed in my orders but recently, rather than my items being shipped to my door as agreed and paid for, whenever the shipping method/service provider is NIPOST, the officials demand for N500.00 (Five Hundred Naira) as 'security/handling fees' despite the fact that I had paid for shipping before the vendor shipped my order and it behooves on NIPOST officials to ensure that my goods are delivered without demanding for any extra unreceipted fee. At Wuse Zone 3 NIPOST office, there is a 'Memo' pasted on the door purportedly signed by the management approving collection of the fee, however, customers are not given any receipt showing that such a fee was paid. I recently met a postal worker who confirmed to me that the money collected is being shared by the bosses.

Dear Nairalanders, I believe this is another corrupt practice and if not nipped in the bud, the officials would have the audacity to charge more money and before we know it, it would become an ingrained norm.

Please let us SPEAK OUT so that it can get to the relevant authorities.
