Manchester United Vs Newcastle: 4-1

Goal scorers:

Manchester United Newcastle United

Ronaldo 45+2, 62 Manquillo

Fernandes 80

Lingard 90+2.

Cristiano marked his return to Manchester united by scoring two goals, as the Reds win 4-1 against Newcastle on a glorious afternoon at old Trafford.

Ronaldo's strike on the stroke of half-time was exactly what united needed after been frustrated by a dogged Newcastle side.

Mason Greenwood, who had been our goalscoring hero in our opening three games, took aim with a shot from the right which Freddie Woodman couldn't hold onto and Ronaldo was there to gobble up the chance, much to the delight of a bouncing Old Trafford.

Newcastle were fully on a mission to spoil the Ronaldo reunion party and Javier Manquillo drew them level eleven minutes after second half. Six minutes later Ronaldo was at it again as he slotted home in front of a jubilant stretford end.

Bruno Fernandes added a sublime third before substitute Jesse Lingard capped off the win in style with a brilliant finish in injury time.

FIRST HALF - RONALDO ON THE MARK

A crescendo of noise from the fans welcomed Manchester united. Within five minutes, Ronaldo had been found by Bruno Fernandes inside the box, but the ball flicked off a defender to put Ronaldo off and the chance escaped.

There was a real sense of expectation every time Ronaldo picks up the ball and he took aim during the first ten minutes when he exchanged passes with the lively Jordan Sancho on the left, but after flicking the ball inside, he could only find the side netting.

Raphael Varane, making his home debut , had a good opportunity with a header from Luke Shaw corner, but he could only glance it wide. Fernandes had two efforts after - one from his own half Beckham - Style which dropped just over the bar, before he rolled a shot wide after he, Sancho and Ronaldo combined.

Newcastle were proving stubborn as the Reds dominated possession and kept probing. It looked like the Reds were going to be left frustrated until Ronaldo found the net in first - half injury time.

SECOND HALF - DOUBLE PORTUGUESE MAGIC

The second half began as the first finished with united on top. Despite being pinned back, the visitors were looking lively after the break, eleven minutes after the second half began they drew level.

Garan Clark powered forward from his own half before finding Allan Saint - Maximin who slipped the ball into Manquillo to drive home.

Six minutes later, shaw sped towards goal brilliantly and found the Portuguese in the area and he was never going to miss one - on - one.

David De Gea needed to be alert when Joelinton took aim, but De Gea brilliantly palmed the ball away.

Manchester United got their third goal thirty five minutes after second half. And a ton of credit goes to De Gea who started the move with the best pass of the match to Greenwood who broke forward. He laid it back to Pogba who found Bruno Fernandes 25 yards out and within few seconds, the ball was in the top corner.

A fourth duly followed and it was another fabulous finish as substitute Anthony Martial dummied Pogba's pass into lingard, who turned to curl the ball home and ensure a day that will live long in the memory of United fans all over the world. EducationCheck Out Sabethes World Beautiful Mosquito by ButtyBanger1(op): 8:50pm On Sep 02, 2021
I can think of a few adjectives to describe mosquitoes, but ‘beautiful’ is definitely not one of them. However, there is one notable exception – Sabethes cyaneus, a tropical breed of mosquito that can certainly be called eye-catching.

Found in the tropical forests of central and South America, the Sabethes mosquito is an elusive breed famous for its iridescent blue color and feather-like paddles formed by elongated scales, located on the tibia of each middle leg. The two hind legs arching over the body of the mosquito as it is feeding are also impressive and help build the Sabethes’ majestic appearance. Marveling at its beauty is a privilege, as this breed is well-known for being extremely skittish and difficult to photograph well.

“The mosquito responds to the tiniest of movements and to changes in light intensity,” wildlife photographer Gil Wizen recently told BBC. “This means you must stay very still while attempting to photograph it, and also be prepared for the mosquito’s escape if using a flash. Fortunately, you are never alone with a single mosquito, because usually there are dozens of them hovering over your head.”

The padded middle legs of the Sabethes mosquito are one of its distinct features, but scientists have yet to figure out its purpose. For a while, it was believed that they play a role in the mosquitoes’ famously elaborate mating ritual, but experiments have shown that when the paddles were removed from the male legs, they continued to mate successfully. For now, all we know is that they look good.

Like in the more than 3,300 known species of mosquito in the world, only the females blood-feed, only they only do it when they are about to produce eggs. The rest of the time, they feed on nectar. Whenever they feed, the hind legs arch forward, not as a pose, but because the legs are sensory, they detect movement and allow the insect to flee in case of danger.

Despite its undeniable beauty, it’s worth remembering that the Sabethes is still a mosquito, therefore a vector of tropical diseases like yellow fever and dengue fever.

Chelsea's Champions League group stage simulated as Lionel Messi heads to Stamford Bridge
24hrsreport.comAug 26, 2021 11:21 AM
The UEFA Champions League group stage draw takes place today (Thursday) as Europe’s elite sides battle it out for a place in May’s final.

Chelsea are the defending champions, having beaten Premier League rivals Manchester City 1-0 at the Estadio de Dragao in the showpiece event last season.

German playmaker Kai Havertz netted the only goal of the game as head coach Thomas Tuchel tasted European glory for the first time in his career.

Luckily for the Blues, their incredible triumph last term means they will be in pot one for Thursday’s draw, joined by footballing royalty in the form of Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid, all of which won their respective domestic league titles last season.

However, several elite sides find themselves in pot two this year, meaning the west London club could find themselves in a group with one of Real Madrid, Barcelona or Juventus – three teams who have won a combined 20 Champions Leagues in their history.

We used a group stage simulator to determine who Chelsea, as well as fellow English sides Liverpool, Manchester United and Man City, could draw, and the results were extremely interesting.

Chelsea simulated draw
PSG are one of the favourites to win the competition this season after adding footballing icon Lionel Messi, who will spearhead their attack alongside Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Furthermore, Chelsea would also have to face the five-hour flight to Saint Petersburg to face Zenit, who are not to be taken lightly after clinching the Russian Premier League last term.

AC Milan are arguably the most daunting side in pot four and our simulation saw the Blues draw the Rossoneri, who look a very tactically astute side under Stefano Piolo’s guidance.

Milan also have two former Chelsea players in their ranks, with English youngster Fikayo Tomori and French frontman Olivier Giroud both completing permanent moves to the San Siro earlier this summer.

Simulated Champions League round of 16 draw in full:
Group A – Atletico Madrid, Liverpool, Porto, Malmo

Group B – Lille, Barcelona, Atalanta, Dynamo Kiev

Group C – Man City, Borussia Dortmund, Ajax, Sheriff

Group D – Inter Milan, Sevilla, RB Leipzig, Besiktas

Group E – Villarreal, Juventus, Shakhtar Donetsk, Young Boys

Group F – Sporting Lisbon, Real Madrid, RB Salzburg, Wolfsburg

Group G – Bayern Munich, Man United, Benfica, Club Brugge

Group H – Chelsea, PSG, Zenit, AC Milan
