The coup is normal, it happens everyday and everywhere.

Our people are just to poor in the faculty of political reasoning.
There are thousands of ways you fight an enemy without carrying guns. Our people tend to look very educated but looking at it from a political point of view they are far behind. We have not even gotten to the elementary stage.

Using the early Christians as a case study there were a lot of tactics and patterns uses by the early Christians to win the world over.

Rest your case!
80% of people in the North are in one form of military to the other either directly or indirectly.

They are the proverbial owners of the country till the fools will wake up.

If they want to pick 100 people to the military or police or immigration or anything the North will make more than 70% of the list.

The only thing we have here is crude oil and more 60% of the oil Wells belong to Northerners.

Northerners don't even know what crude oil looks like but they are the once controlling PTI/FEPRE till the fools wakes up.

Politics / Re: Tribalism: Why Buhari Is Smarter Than Tinubu by Cabalgeneral: 2:37pm On Sep 18, 2023
SSFeedsNigeria:
Tinubu is entrenching a dangerous dimension to our politics in Nigeria. He has elevated tribalism to brazen heights. When I see Yorubas defending him passionately I just shake my head. Let's even agree that Buhari was equally nepotistic, but since when did two wrongs start making right?

These people complained under Goodluck Jonathan time and accused him wrongly of being against them. The fact remains that Jonathan had as much Yorubas as Igbos in his government, but these people were never satisfied. They kept blackmailing Jonathan. Today, they're so excited that Tinubu is fixing only Yorubas in strategic positions in Nigeria. Is that not the height of hypocrisy and selfishness?

Even Buhari was not this stupid in his nepotism. Dude carried Northerners along in his nepotism. He didn't make use of only Fulanis but involved most other Northerners. But look at Tinubu, he is busy favoring only Yorubas. He has turned his government into Oduduwa affair. If this man is smart, he would have carried other Southerners along just like Buhari carried other Northerners. This is why Northerners are always smarter in politics than Southerners. When they finally come for this bigot in power, he will have only yorubas to fight for him. We will see if they will be enough to defend him or they will suddenly remember other Southerners? Unfortunately for them, we Southerners will either remain indifferent or even team up with Northerners.

Wisdom is profitable to direct!

I don't have to read your post before agreeing with you that Buhari, northerners that they are 100% wiser and intelligent than Tinubu, Yoruba.

You could have carried out a bloody coup.the killing of ahmadu bello the leader of the north and the killing of brigadier maimalari the military icon of the northern soldiers was the greatest error.these two killings is still haunting Nigeria till now.the se should find a way and placate the north

A very sad part of our history. Moving away from the regional set up is a major factor in the ruination of this country.

The coupists made things worse by centralising power in the Federal Government. That killed the fair competition and progress we were making in the different regions, which could have culminated in faster and more sustainable progress, for the regions and the country as a whole.

They are horrible and greedy tribe thinking that they can override the whole tribes in Nigeria due their fetish ritualist believe but they will continue paying the price till they get Biafra.

Last hours of Brigadier Zakariya Maimalari

January 14, 1966… There was a party at Maimalari’s house at 11, Thompson Avenue, Ikoyi, Lagos. it was planned by his ADC. The man he trusted with his life, Emmanuel Arinze Ifeajuna. The very man who planned the first coup in Nigeria in which his boss was one of the targets to be eliminated.

At this time, Maimalari was the Commander of 2ndbrigade Nigerian army in Lagos, Ifeajuna was his chief of staff and in charge of his details. Maimalari was the most powerful soldier from the North and a greatly admired public figure among northerners.

Maimalari was celebrating his marriage to a new bride. Ifeajuna sent out all the letters for the party that day. All senior officers and their ADC were at the party that evening. The list included the GOC of the army, Aguyi Ironsi, Colonel Kur Mohammed, Chief of Staff, army headquarters and Colonel Yakubu Gowon, commander of the 2nd battalion at Ikeja. A lot of politicians and cabinet ministers were also at the party. As the party progressed, his new wife from Kano was presented to his friends. She was young and very beautiful. Maimlari showed her off as the soldiers gazed at her while the orchestra and the 2nd battalion band from Ikeja drummed for the occasion.

A lot of junior officers were at the party as well. Some of them were in on Ifeajuna’s plans for a coup the next day. At midnight, shortly after the party, they all met at Ifeajuna’s house at Apapa. He got in late, there were 12 officers waiting for him among them were Humprey Chukwuka (deputy general in the Nigerian army) and Major Christain Anuforo, General staff officer at the army headquarters.

A Yoruba akotileta house negro was at the meeting. His name was Adegboyega. Another very important active member of the group was Anuforo. Other important officers at the meeting that evening were Donatus Okafor, Captain Ogbonna Oji and Lientenant Oyewole. Someone joined them much later at the meeting, Obienu, his task was to take over the barracks at Abeokuta which had a lot of firepower that they needed for the coup. The man tasked to go to Maimalari’s house to kill him was Donatus Okafor.

2am, the phone rang at Maimalari’s house, it was Elizabeth, Yakubu Gowon’s wife that called him to tell him her husband had been arrested by some of the coup plotters. While Maimalari was on the phone with him, he heard commotion at his own gate. One of his guards had been shot and killed for refusing to open the gate . Immediately he heard the gunshot, he ran upstairs to his house, took his new wife and hid her in the servant’s quarters, then he ran to the back of his house, scaled the fence, and disappeared into the darkness.

Donatus Okafor….. nearly ran mad when he realized Maimlari had escaped…. Maimalari was the most powerful solder in Lagos ( although not the most senior)…. he was the commander of the southern brigade in Apapa… lots of the fighting forces of the battalions…. Field artillery corps… armored and mechanized corps were under his command… he could mobilize an entire brigade with his powers in the military….. most of the ammunitions that Ifeajuna took from the barracks for the coup, he did so with forged clearance in the name of Maimlari

Okafor told his soldiers to search every part of the house and to kill Maimalari if they sight him anywhere. If Maimalari made his way to any barracks, they were all doomed. He could easily round them up and they would face a well predicted fate in his hands…. When they did not find him in the house, they went back in their cars and searched around Thompson Street and glover road in search of Maimalari… when they did not find him… they searched along Bourdillon road…. Really frantic to make sure he did not reach the barracks.

Maimlari was running on the streets in his Pijamas… bare feet, trying to make his way to the federal guards palace…. If any car drove by, he docked into the shrubs or bush….. now a car passed by and he tried to dock… then from where he was hiding, he noticed it was a familiar car…. Of his ADC…. They partied together few hours earlier…… he jumped out from the bush where he was hiding and waved down at him… unaware that he just fell into a trap……

‘Emma… thank God…. Some of your boys have gone crazy… Do you have a knowledge of who they might be and what unit? …
’No sir’ replied Ifeajuna
‘Never mind, just get me to the barracks … I am going to find those bastards in the morning and finish them’

As Maimalari walked towards Ifeajuna’s car… He saw the Prime minister… Tafawa Balewa in the car…. Maimalari froze to his feet… realizing he just walked into a trap…. Ifeajuna told him to say his last prayers… cocked his gun and fired three bullets at the Brigadier…. He fell to the floor and died instantly…. Ifeajuna fired five more shots at him on the floor….

This was the last hours of a man that did no wrong…. In the hands of a man he took like a brother and entrusted his life into…. Ifeajuna... the man who celebrated with him just a few hours earlier…. Murdered him on his wedding day……
The January 1966 coup was not a revolution... like the Obidient movement, it was a sham... the rage in the heart of these savages going around at night across the country in their coordinated selective murders as they pelleted their victims with bullets is all that needed to be observed.

On that same route… Aguyi Ironsi was intercepted and allowed to pass as he made his way to the barracks.

The kind of nemesis that is awaiting Igbo in Nigeria, civil war era will be a child play cos they are the ones still crying for victimisation when nothing is playing yet.

I advise them to start relocating gradually to Biafra.

From Obinna Odogwu, Awka

Importers Association of Nigerian (IMAN), yesterday, revealed how a $600 million deal between former Imo state governor, Chief Achike Udenwa, and the Chinese government for a Blue Sea Port project in Oguta Lake was lost.

National President of the association, Mr Kingsley Chikezie, told reporters in Awka that the project, which would have added value to Nigeria’s economy, was frustrated by forces with ethnic colours.

It was equally gathered that to further frustrate the Eastern ports, the importation of pharmaceutical goods was ordered to be done through the Lagos seaports, specifically the one in Apapa.

Chikezie said that had the seaport project been realised, it would have by now helped in the revival of the abandoned Oseakwa Seaport in Ihiala, Anambra State which functionality, he believes, would add value to the economies of the South East and South-South regions.

IMAN, however, called on the governors and the stakeholders in the South East to come together and decide how to revive the Oseakwa Seaport. It also asked it to work more closely with the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) to revive the seaport.

Chikezie said: “These are the things and obstacles that we the importers are facing due to the abandonment of the Oseakwa Seaport by successive governments in the country and you know that we in the South East and South-South are the importers.

“We call on the governors of the South East to establish a South East Economic Corporation to kick start the process irrespective of political interests just as the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has concluded arrangements for the rail lines that would link up the oil producing states in the area.”

The IMAN National President lamented what became of the Imo/China deal which he said would have provided job opportunities for the youths and encouraged commerce and industry in the South East and South-South had it succeeded.

“I want you to imagine what this place would have been like if that 600 million dollars deal had worked out. And that would have also affected the Oseakwa Seaport project to come on stream by now.

“Today, the NDDC is putting up rail lines linking those areas and the governors of the South East should set up that commission which would have its members drawn from the five states and funded with the equity contributions of the five state governments.

He commended NIWA headed by Chief George Moghalu, for its achievements in reviving some dead and moribund river and sea ports across the country but urged it to partner with the South East Governors Forum (SEGF) to jumpstart the revival of the Oseakwa Seaport.

“There is no doubt that the management of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) has been doing their best in the area of recovering our dead or moribund river and sea ports but a lot needs to be done.

“Let our governors in the South East have that synergy with NIWA to look at the Oseakwa Seaport and fashion out ways of making the abandoned Oseakwa Seaport come alive again because our people are going through hell and losing billions of Naira because of the absence of the Oseakwa seaport”, he said.
