Politics / Re: Reno Omokri: How Akintola Repelled Nwobosi Who Came To Kill Him (Jan 1966) by Cabalgeneral: 7:03pm On Sep 16, 2023
leanonme82:
WHAT HAPPENED TO NWOBOSI?

Dear
@eleyiofx,

Thank you for your feedback. Well, after the July 29, 1966 counter-coup, this same Captain Emmanuel Nwobosi, who killed Samuel Akintola after initially running away when Akintola resisted with his sub machine gun, ran to Enugu, where Lt. Colonel Ojukwu made him his Chief of Staff. If Akintola's ammunition had not finished, Nwobosi could not have killed him, because from the report of both Justice Kayode Eso, and Remi Fani-Kayode, he ran to hide when Akintola started shooting to defend himself. Can you imagine a military man hiding from a civilian?

After Lt. Colonel Ojukwu declared the Republic of Biafra on May 30, 1967, he promoted himself to General and made Emmanuel Nwobosi a full Biafran Colonel.

Captain Emmanuel Nwobosi was the last of the January 15, 1966 conspirators to die. He did an interview shortly before he died in 2020, blaming the whole coup on the British for not conducting free and fair elections in Northern Nigeria, which allowed Ahmadu Bello to emerge as regional premier. He sounded exactly like Nnamdi Kanu in that interview, which is still on YouTube. He showed no remorse nor took any responsibility for his actions.

If not that he was overpowered by then Lt Colonel Gowon, he would also have killed Chief Remi Fani Kayode, FFK's father. Lt. Colonel Gowon, as a dedicated Christian, did not kill Nwobosi the way Nwobosi killed others.

But going back to his 2020 interview, first and foremost, what was Nwobosi's business with the Northern Region? Secondly, none of the parties won the 1959 federal elections. The only reason that the Northern Peoples Congress came into power and Sir Tafawa-Balewa became Prime Minister was because Chief Nnamdi Azikiwe of the NCNC went into a coalition with the NPC rather than with Chief Awolowo's Action Group, which had made overtures to him. Yet, the putschists did not kill any NCNC politician. The issue is that Nwobosi felt that Nigerians do not study history, and to a large extent, he was right.

For example, Ifeajuna, the coup leader, who passed the home of the obnoxiously corrupt Ozumba Mbadiwe (who had been exposed by the Daily Times's Babatunde Jose as having received kickbacks from the sale of government property), only to proceed to the home of the famously honest and frugal Prime Minister, Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa, whom he abducted and later killed, in a coup that was ostensibly about corruption.

In my opinion, Nwobosi got off lightly. But such is life.

Thanks again, and may God bless you.

Igbo will never be forgiven in Nigeria especially northerners imagine someone you abducted for good turn around and later killed you just to please his kinsmen.

Tafawa Balewa and the Northerners were the ones with real power in the First republic.. Azikiwe was just a figure head talkative playing second fiddle to North.. reason he connived with Ironsi and other Igbos in the Army to orchestrate a bloody coup to seize power from North.

What followed?.. a counter coup by Northerners in the Army that killed Ironsi barely 6 months into his regime.

Bia.. which power are you referring to?. cos Igbos have always played second fiddle and errand boy role to North.

they will continue paying for their evil as far as they remain in Nigeria.

There has never been good times in Nigeria. From the second the British flag was lowered on October 1st 1960, and the Nigerian flag hoisted up, Nigeria has declined. Today, Nigeria is a monumental disaster of a country, and its only future is eventual disintegration. Things have from bad to worse to worst to worstest, if there is such a word

However, Nigeria's best times was when Igbos were in charge. Zik became President of a country with 3 Regions, a 4th Region created in 1963, all 4 Regions controlling their resources, contributing to the centre, progressing at their own pace and engaged in healthy competition

Like almost every country in Africa at the time, Nigeria experienced military coup that resulted in the Army boss, General Ironsi, assuming power. Democracy was lost, however, Ironsi kept the 4 Regions he met and allowed them resource control. Some propagandists say he destroyed federalism with decree 34 but these are people who never read the decree to realise it was just a civil service matter

Ironsi died in another coup 6 months later and Gowon took over. Gowon enacts Decree 14 that abolished all 4 Regions Nigeria had, created 12 new states, and followed this up with Decree 15 that abolished resource control, thus taking Nigeria 8nto full blown unitary rule. All this was a calculated move to make the North masters of Nigeria. In retaliation, Ojukwu declared the Eastern Region Biafra and a civil war followed

After the civil war, Nigeria had a period of huge oil sales that were wasted on white elephant projects and corruption

Murtala Mohammed ended Gowons 9 year rule and increased Nigerias unitary rule by increasing the number of States in Nigeria to 19. Five more coups would follow with each military ruler embarking on state creation, started by Gowon, until we got to 36.

Today, Nigeria is world poverty capital, 8th most insecure country on earth, and one of the most corrupt.

Nigeria has never known good times, but its best times were Zik and Ironsi times.

Killing other tribes is what makes it the best time or by annexing other regions as Igbo territory

When Issac adaka boro our senior brother of the deltan region declared republic of Niger Delta, the Igbo, and their elites with the help of Nigeria government crushed the agitation within 12 days.

Few years later same Igbo declared Biafra republic and annexed the region of the minority ethnic groups that have no relations with anything with Igbo in their Biafra.

Igbo elders and politicians were silent seeing what Simon Ekpa is doing in terms of encroaching into other tribes territories, same thing they did when their supreme leader was first released by Buhari, Igbo elders and politicians were silent when their supreme leader was saying openly that he will go to Abuja and bring the head of former president muhamedu Buhari to Igbo land.

Very soon ethics groups in the SS will rise up and declare that any Igbo from south east residing in the region to relocate back to south east, I urge them to remain silent, Igbo going back to their ancestry land is the only solution for this madness.

I know that some inferior who can't survive without SS, will come and be claiming deltan since they are cursed and shameless people,a stop will be put to this this very year.

Igbo elders and politicians should continue silent, when it will happen federal government won't do a thing.

Reflect7:
The ONLY Reason Igbos Want 'Biafra'

THEY ARE AFTER NIGERIAN RESOURCES TO ENJOY FOR THEMSELVES ALONE.

THAT'S WHAT THE WHOLE BIAFRA AGITATION IS ABOUT.

IT'S A CRUDE ATTEMPT AT RESOURCE GRAB, WITH ZERO CARE ABOUT THE DEVASTATING IMPACT ON THE REST OF THE COUNTRY, IF THEIR PLAN WERE TO SUCCEED.

Here is their criminal terrorist leader stating why RIVERS AND BENUE STATES must be included in his 'Biafra'.

''Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), says he was made an offer in detention to secede with the five Igbo states but that he rejected the offer because it did not constitute the complete territory of Biafra.

“They gave me Biafra in prison with only the five Igbo states; I said no, I want Benue and Rivers states inclusive,” Mr. Kanu said, Wednesday while addressing leaders of an Igbo civil society coalition who visited him at his country home in Umuahia, Abia State.''

https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/more-news/237582-i-rejected-offer-biafra-five-igbo-states-nnamdi-kanu.html

Essentially what these people want to do is to exit Nigeria with all of Nigeria's wealth, to enjoy by themselves ALONE.

That is why they are never happy with Nigeria.

Always criticizing Nigeria.

They see Nigeria as standing in their way of grabbing the south-south oil and gas resources for IGBOS ALONE.

They are selfish to the core.

They will try to gaslight you (ie confuse you) by claiming ''Nigerians hate Igbos but won't let Igbos go''.

That is a carefully crafted deceit that omits the fact that ''Igbos going'' means ''going with Nigeria's oil and gas resources of the delta, plus BENUE state'', because they don't accept that 'Biafra' is just the landlocked 5 Igbo states.

SO ANYTIME anyone of them says ''Nigerians hate us but won't let us go'', TELL THEM, ''You are welcome to go anytime, with your 5 Igbo states and not an INCH of Nigerian territory, or you will be seriously dealt with.''

The best and only way is Nigerians to rise up and I know this will happen one day, so Igbo can be given Biafra.

I have used the example of someone involved in witchcraft and why they're never successful. Now, I will use another example of husband and wife that hate themselves passionately. Such union is never progressive and happy. They will continue fighting themselves until they eventually harm each other. They will waste energy that would have gone into productive ventures fighting themselves.

That's why educated and enlightened people always go for divorce when they realize they can't do anything to live peacefully. Life is short so why live that little time in bitterness?

Nigeria needs to breakup now it has become clear we can't live together in peace. That's the only reasonable option left!

The witchcraft in Nigeria are Igbo, that's why nothing good come from their region and they can't do anything without ritualist to succeed.

There is a reason why Nigeria has continued to deteriorate badly and I will explain it in this thread. Some people in this country are so evil and hypocritical that they hate some people so passionately yet they can't imagine living without them. That's the worst form of witchcraft ever!

When Malaysians were fed up with the Singaporeans, they didn't go about wishing evil on them while still forcing them to remain in Malaysia. Instead, they did what any normal and reasonable people will do. They went to their Senate and made a law that stopped Singapore from being part of Malaysia. The envy and bitterness between both sides stopped. Today, Malaysia is better for it while Singapore has even become a first world country!

Just like it happened in Malaysia many years ago, some sections of Nigeria hate Igbos. They are envious and bitter about Igbos, yet they hate the idea of Igbos leaving Nigeria. Why can't these Nigerians be reasonable and act like normal human beings by demanding that Igbos should go their separate ways? Even when Hon. Chinda tried to move a motion for the break-up of Nigeria at the Senate, others almost mobbed him!

Take a look at anybody involved in witchcraft around you, you will observe that they're always wretched and frustrated. Now, draw a comparison with Nigeria and understand why your country has remained wretched.

Illiterate how many tribes in Nigeria residing in Igbo land.

There have been arguements on Nairaland based on historical events. Many people who never knew what happened then get to learn especially those of us far outside the regions these things happened.

History is to make us learn. This only points out evil that was meted out on Igbos by the Hausas.

However to my surprise, notwithstanding the level of killings by the Hausas, Igbos actually see Yorubas who never attacked them or send them packing as the enemy. What an irony!

Because of Yoruba eye service
