FoodRe: 7 Dollar Meal In Naija by Calamama: 12:40pm On Feb 04, 2011
but the quality of food is a no match to what u might get in cities.
Incidentally, I doubt that. Processed food are no match for native foods in terms of what is good and healthy and ultimately cost effective. Even if the native food looks poor in quality it is probably better for you. I've heard ignorant people complain, African Food Stinks. The stinkier the healthier (within reason so dont mention rotten foods)

The slogan should be, eat and make do with what you have or "Native good Foreign Bad"
PoliticsRe: Today: Ghana Has Joined The Club Of Oil Producing Nations by Calamama: 6:02pm On Jan 08, 2011

Big deal?

Relatively recently, oil and gas discoveries have been announced in more than ten African countries. These include Uganda, Ghana, Congo-Brazzaville, Angola, Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Algeria, Egypt, Cameroon, Nigeria, Tanzania, Zambia, Namibia, Sao Tome and Principe.

The largest being in Uganda. Great news for Uganda?

^^I am Jamaican, and like most Jamaicans, I watch Nollywood movies. Some movies are good and others , I cant even get past the first 30 minutes! Trust me your productions are not always perfect and this is an outside opinion. So lets not judge.
It goes without saying; this also applies to Hollywood movies. Some Hollywood movies are good and others, I can’t even get past the first five minutes.

Anyway, It’s pointless stating where you are from because too many people here use this site to front as what they are not.
PoliticsRe: How Come Bbc Don't Show These Pictures by Calamama: 11:31am On Oct 25, 2010
I agree with you 100%. The pictures posted at skyscrapercity is not atrue representation of Lagos. Ifcat that's less than 20% of what Lagos is. Most of Lagos is a slum.
and long may it remain a slum or we'd have nothing to feel good about and we'd hang ourselves.
CrimeRe: Four Nigerian Kidnappers Arrested In Ghana by Calamama: 5:46pm On Oct 23, 2010
Nigeria needs good boarder control. Now, every Tom Dick and Harry who enters Nigeria from other countries, grows up there, or lives there for a number of years, claims Nigerian identity when it suits them. Right now Lagos is full of aliens from other countries.

The uncle of a friend of mine went to Nigeria and met this woman in Lagos who spoke and claimed Igbo identity. My friend’s grandmother kept saying the woman had something about her not Igbo. This was when the relationship became serious, he took her home, and the wider family got involved. Anyway, the grandmother’s nagging was sort of dismissed, it was as if she was just a cantankerous old woman - you know how people of today loose their culture and forget how observant and wise are the old. Anyway, the old woman used to say she could tell her own people even with one-eye-closed. To shorten the story, it later turned out that grandmother was right the woman’s family background was from a different African country.
