Seems like one eyed man is king in the land of the blind after all..

Today that I barely made 25 points on a Saturday GW, all my opponents across all H2H leagues are faring worse grin

Calibrator:
I have the third highest total points in Bongo Super Cup and I am last on the log. grin

Fixtures bad luck is a thing true true. grin grin grin

Core Objectives still remain the same : Get promoted to Nairaland FA Cup and don't lose again to Kirey Stars angry

This troublesome man.

Playing Paul Heyman to your Roman Reigns got me most of my bans that period. cheesy grin

NaijaMemes:
This was the most painful part. Ishilove would call the ban-hammer airstrike despite being part of the e-war, and she would still escape ban. But I soon wised up to that. When many usernames call airstrike on one person......she self chop the ban-hammer.

good times.

eff Naptu2 by the way grin

@ last paragraph, nobody got bloodied on MCU vs DC issue like hulk616 did.

He had to finally take a self imposed sabbatical from the thread for the sake of his sanity.

You will come online to find like six to seven previous pages with all comments deleted, there were a few times I wasn't even online and I came online to find myself banned from mere association cry
Mad times, fun times grin
abduleez1:
Bruv.... You remember!! Weekends always dey sweet like mad cos there's one major nuclear event to happen. Vawulence everywhere.

That's why I laugh so hard whenever I see people talking about bullying now. grin When you chop ban of 3 weeks, one month, some people dey wey chop 6 months ban...... You'll understand the true meaning of bullying.
Guy, you can post laughing emoji that time without quoting anybody and still chop two weeks ban.

It's only people that were active in that era that would know how things was then and know the circumstances of having alternate monikers to navigate the bans.
Na those people make me get 4 monikers now. I chop ban tire just cos of DC vs Marvel superhero banter.
TV/Movies › Re: What Series Are You Watching Now? Part 2 by Calibrator: 9:04am On Oct 19, 2024
Good ol' days grin

The most interesting part is when the inevitable "ban hammer" drops, it is always unproportionate to the level of involvement in the fracas, gladiators with multiple body counts will get two weeks, you that just quoted one or two insulting posts to egg them on will get three months grin grin
abduleez1:
Lol, the good ol' days....

Sad they're not on Nairaland no more. And most ultimately quit due to the great oppression of that era and the general dip in quality. The quality of posts back then was unrivalled. The quality and cerebral arguments you could get on foreign forums like Reddit, you could easily get it in the Movie thread back then.
Funny how now I remember it, the series thread was a bit abandoned back then. The main focus was on the movie thread but the series thread has gone through some rejuvenation over the last 2-3 yrs.

Of course, Jerome Black remains now as Naijamemes. grin grin

Now I remember that dude that was always good with sniffing out new monikers on the thread. Dandenumeruno..... Those set of people were bloody and vicious back in the days. cheesy

Omo, top quality people really left. 😩😤

Stopped at Season 1.

Calibrator:
Downloaded S1E1 of Industry to see what the hype is about.

Four minutes in and I can already see I will be seeing the rest of the series through.

Hopefully I will finish season one to three before the end of the year.

Fatima eating rotting crops to eating blood from a dead body, I doubt if she will give birth to a normal baby

Those who think it is good definitely need to get their artistic taste bud checked angry angry

Can't believe some people are hyping the cartoonish S2 finale fight between the robotic actress playing Gladeriel and Sauron.

I have seen better action choreography in primary school stage plays angry
oyaskii:
I have never seen a show this polarised in reviews. There is basically no middle ground. Those that love it, think it's the best thing since slice bread whilst those that hate it, do so with so much fury and both sides can't be wrong, speaks volume to how differently we perceive media quality sometimes...so so uncanny 😩
TV/Movies › Re: What Series Are You Watching Now? Part 2 by Calibrator: 10:15am On Oct 08, 2024
I will be rewatching the entire six movies in the LOTR franchise to purge my memory of the hogwash TROP made me watch.

Can't have my last memory of the franchise stained for all of eternity sad

How they are keeping viewers engaged without us really knowing what is going on is otherworldly, ngl.

Dump Servant TV series for this exact pattern of storytelling but From is something else.
izombie:
Ending of s3 ep3, just WOW! Never knew i could miss waiting for the next episode of a series since prison break s1.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Nairaland Fantasy Premier League 2024/2025 by Calibrator: 1:51pm On Oct 06, 2024
I don't want to argue.

Go through the individual match polls on the app and cross examine with the bonus points given out to each match, you are free to use the seasons prior for comparison too.

The bonus points are given out according to the voting poll.
StarchAndBanga:
Fpl bonus points and voting for EPL man of the match are two different things entirely.

From official Premier League website:
TheStrongest:
These are different things na.. weytin concern Man of the Match and Bonus Point.. Bonus points are calculated by the system based on different criterias, one being the player's performance on the pitch.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Nairaland Fantasy Premier League 2024/2025 by Calibrator: 12:57pm On Oct 06, 2024
I vote every match for the man of the match on the official PL app, mostly for my FPL picks as I am sure other people do which explains why Jota don't get bonus points as I said earlier grin
iykmora:
I thought it is based on match stats for players, i.e passing, shot on target, assist , goals, cards and fouls accumulated etc. abi no be so?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Nairaland Fantasy Premier League 2024/2025 by Calibrator: 9:07am On Oct 06, 2024
Be good and strong bro.

All that is well ends well.
Griffon:
I lost my aunt. I haven’t even logged in over a week now.

And vying for the position of a Councilor in my local area is really getting me distracted in couple of things now. It’s just frustrating.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Nairaland Fantasy Premier League 2024/2025 by Calibrator: 9:06am On Oct 06, 2024
Where do you think bonus point comes from?

Download the Official Premier League app and you can vote for the three players who will win the bonus points for each match.
Emaprince:
Fans dey vote for FPL? I no understand.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Nairaland Fantasy Premier League 2024/2025 by Calibrator: 7:27pm On Oct 05, 2024
To say Gordon has overstayed his welcome in my team is an understatement.

First order of business after the international break is to transfer his out!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Nairaland Fantasy Premier League 2024/2025 by Calibrator: 6:56pm On Oct 05, 2024
That is because fans (FPL players) are voting for his more illustrious and more widely picked teammates like TAA and Salah for bonus points out of selfish interest.
Emaprince:
Jota will score and even assist...but he will always be missing in the bonus system. seems he barely put in in any work apart from popping up to score or assist..

I can't remember either any of you two paying for the data I used to download or reimbursing me the opportunity cost of the time I wasted on that trash of a TV series so you two should swerve abegi

I watch the Deadpool franchise mainly for the dialogues.

Imagine watching the latest installment "Deadpool and Wolverine" oblivious of where most of the remarks and references originated from, waste of peak! grin grin

I am the third highest scorer in the Bongo Super Cup and I am sitting pretty at 17 out of 18 position on the table.

Second to the last FFS, I somehow always find myself drawn against whoever will be amongst the highest scorers every GW grin

Phenomenal world building.

DC should make more TV series and less Movies while Marvel should make more Movies and less TV series.
