As part of our Human Resource Development initiatives, THE Niger Delta Development Commission, is commencing the 2016 Post-Graduate Foreign Scholarship Programme to equip Niger Deltans with relevant training and skills for effective participation in the Local Content programme of the Federal Government as well as compete globally in various professional fields. The Scheme is for suitably qualified applicants with relevant Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree (s) from recognized Universities in the following professional disciplines:

1. Engineering
2. Medical Sciences (M.Sc. Public Health excluded)
3. Computer Science/Technology
4. Geology
5. Geosciences
6. Environmental Sciences
7. Agriculture
8. Environmental or Gas/Oil Law
9. Project Management

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
1. First Degree with minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division for those wishing to undertake a Master’s Degree programme and a good Master’s Degree for PhD candidates from a recognized University.
2. Applicants must have gained admission for a Post Graduate Programme in any of the listed disciplines above, in a foreign University.
3. Applicants who have already enrolled in overseas’ universities are NOT eligible to apply.
4. Guarantor’s written consent of good conduct of the applicant from any of the following persons from the applicant’s community/clan.

a. Member of National Assembly
b. Chairman of the LGA.
c. First class traditional ruler.
d. High Court Judge

5. Persons with evidence of cult membership or criminal record shall not be considered for the award.
6. Applicants must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC).
7. Applicants must have a valid Admission Letter from a Foreign University.


MODE OF APPLICATION
1. Application must be made on-line at the Commission’s website:

(www.nddc.gov.ng) with the following attachments:
i. Recent passport photograph
ii. Local Government identification letter.
iii. Post Graduate (PG) admission letter from Overseas University.
iv. Relevant Degrees from recognized University.
v. N.Y.S.C Discharge Certificate

2. Successfully completed application form will be assigned a registration number automatically.
3. Print the hard copy of the on-line generated acknowledgement for ease of reference.
4. All shortlisted applicants will be posted on NDDC website (www.nddc.gov.ng )

There may be some element of truth in what these people are saying regarding the invite. Probably, it is been done in batches according to the overall cut off for each state. Be patient and have faith in God.

Let's leave the story of the nddc payment for another day...lol. However, 300k can cover ur flight n visa, then some cash may remain if you use a cheaper airline. My flight was 123k, visa approximately 100k, my accomodation here is 308 pounds a month, though you may get somewhere within 250-300 pounds. If you pass this aptitude test very well...i will write about the oral interview and the payment. All the best.

Try contacting NDDC to confirm if you were invited OR take a leap of faith by travelling to Nigeria with the hope that your name is on the list.

Last year scholars, did PhD applicants write test too or it was just only interview?

Hello great scholars, for those in Coventry im sure you're all battling with coursework, I wish you all success. As it concerns our payment, I had a chat with a friend who got the NITDA scholarship. He told me they were paid a month after arrival but that they had to put pressure on the agency before they were paid. For us, viewing this thread is not enough. I suggest we take concrete steps to make the commission release our funds to us. Someone told me she's suspecting they might pay after the elections, well guess what? Suspicion is not what they listen to. The money is ready and they can as well pay before the elections. What do you suggest we do? NITDA formed a group on Facebook and it helped then a lot.

Hello great scholars,

I'm currently in PH. I dint get an invite but I came cos my "source" asked me to do so and guess what?? I received my letter today.
I discovered that the director of education deliberately refused to send notification to people, it took the anger and intervention of the MD to get him to send invites to the 2014 scholars. The MD was really angry with him and still, I discovered that a lot of people from some states especially Akwaibom are yet to get their invites.
I'll advise that you come to the NDDC HQ and check for your name to see if its on the list.

I have followed this thread for a while now and I can say I am really disappointed at what it has become We are here to share relevant information and learn not fight one another.

Administrators, you need to enforce the rule "Don't abuse, bully, deliberately insult/provoke, fight, or wish harm to any Nairaland member"

One thing you guys need to know is that, until the list is officially out, DON'T BE OVER CONFIDENT THAT YOUR NAME IS ON THE LIST.

Whatever approach you choose to get answers from NDDC, do it peacefully with respect to individual decisions. You can't bully or cajole people to join your fight.
